PETALING JAYA: The nation's tourism sector needs to prepare to capitalise on the estimated RM1 trillion expenditure by Muslim tourists over the next four years, says Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan.

Overall, the total receipts from Indian tourists in Q1 2024 amounted to RM1,105.78mil, compared to RM506.12mil in Q1 2023, showcasing a remarkable increase of 118.48%.

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia is intensifying its efforts to entice visitors from the world’s most populous nation, with arrivals from India hitting an 80% increase this year.

A Billion in Bookings

Sunway Property, the property arm of Sunway Bhd (SUNWAY) has recorded a sum of MYR1.1 billion in bookings so far this year, contributed by 14 properties around the nation under SUNWAY’s Signature Series 2024 Campaign.

This marks the third consecutive year of booking growth for the community developer, as SUNWAY achieved MYR800 million in 2022 and soon broke the MYR1 billion point in 2023. Meanwhile, Sunway Aviana in Johor flexed a remarkable 100% take up rate in just the first two months of launch.
