sorry, not MO1, it should be BA1 or UT1
2019-03-04 17:25 | Report Abuse
besides, if pearlwhite have such influential impact and connection to BA, should he/she work together with MO1 to turnaround the company?
I'm not asking them to promote BA, but turn BA to a better company. As result, the uprising of the share price.
and since he/she love to use "We" in her post, and have direct access to BA's office, shouldn't he/she and their affiliation to penalize with breach of confidential and professional conduct?
It's shame if he/she work in the organisation.

The oil and gas sector is losing a major competitor in the fierce market for offshore vessels. The Bumi Armada Berhad group is leaving Brazil.
Headquartered in Malaysia, the company is considered one of the market giants operating FPSOs, in addition to providing offshore services. However, despite the great ambitions set for the country, the company was unable to convert its positive business prospects and opted to close its Brazilian operations.
Today, the company faces financial difficulties. Bumi reported losses of R $ 449 million in the third quarter of 2018. The balance of the last three months of last year has not yet been disclosed, but even so, the Malaysian group accumulates a negative result of R $ 930 million (about R $ 1.04 billion of Malaysian ringgits) between January and September 2018.
Investor confidence in the company is also low, with company stock prices on the Malaysian Stock Exchange reaching the lowest levels between December and early January. This decrease is related to the concerns of the group's indebtedness. According to consultants who analyze the financial market, Bumi Armada continues to negotiate an extension of the term of payment of $ 380 million in corporate term loans with a consortium of banks.
Bumi was present in Brazil through its Offshore Maritime Services business since 2012. The arrival in the country was considered strategic, since the company considered the national market as one of the most potential and promising in the world in terms of FPSOs. In the year it landed in Brazil, the company's strategic planning anticipated an internal demand of 6 to 8 FPSOs from Petrobras and even from OSX - a company created by businessman Eike Batista to provide oil platforms and naval services to the former OGX.
The Malaysian company did not operate any ship-platform in Brazil, but it disputed important projects, as in the case of the FPSO of the field of Sepia, that was defeated by the Japanese Modec. Bumi was also invited by Petrobrás to bid for the Libra platform vessel (Mero 1), another unit that ended up being conquered by Modec.
In fact, Bumi's revenues in the Latin American market did not meet expectations. According to the company's latest balance sheet, the continent represented a modest 2% in the total revenue composition. The most profitable regions for the group have been the Middle East and Africa, which now account for 42% of current revenues, according to the company's balance sheet.

The Group posted a loss of RM2,319.1 million for FY 2018 and a loss attributable to the Owners of the Company
of RM2,302.8 million. The losses are mainly due to impairment of Armada Kraken FPSO and certain OSV
vessels, net allowance for impairment losses, and higher finance costs due to the cessation of capitalisation of
borrowing costs following the completion of certain FPSO vessels. Excluding the impairment charge of
RM2,242.9 million and net allowance for impairment losses of RM276.4 million, the Group posted a profit of
RM200.2 million for FY 2018 and a profit attributable to the Owners of the Company of RM216.5 million.

"The Casper Star Tribune reports that for some oil and gas companies, impairments do not necessarily reflect the health of a company or indicate that a company is not well-positioned to ride out the downturn in commodity prices; but, for other companies, it may signal growing financial stress. Thus, it remains to be seen whether impairments are an 'indicator' or provide any real insight into the health of the industry."

1 thing I'm not that sure, say if BA dispose their assets & biz for debt repayment; and eventually categorise as PN17 as they have dispose their core biz for debt repayment. Assuming their NTA would still worth like 0.50/share after the repayment. Then their turn around plan doesn't approve by Bursa and at risk for delisting. UTSB should consider privatize BA or dissolve BA and the shareholders received capital repayment. By then the gain is near 100% follow the projected trading price of 0.15/share. Bankruptcy is Not likely. I'm refer this to MAA case & senario highlighted by pearlwhite
