Put warrants allow investors to profit from downward moves in the underlying share or index. Meaning, put warrants can be used as a form of insurance to protect an existing shareholding or portfolio against a falling market. This is called “hedging”.
The owner of a particular share could hedge against market uncertainty by buying a corresponding put warrant. In case where the share price falls, the profit made from the put warrant can then be used to offset the losses from the share. This way, investors can retain share ownership while at the same time protecting themselves against short term falls in price.
More commonly, investors tend to use index warrants to hedge their portfolio. For example, if an investor owns a portfolio of Malaysian equities, they might buy a FBMKLCI put warrant to hedge their position. If the market falls, the gain on the put should offset some of the losses on their equity position. However investors need to be aware that their portfolio may not be correlated to the FBMKLCI index, so the hedge is not likely to be perfect, and in some cases may be ineffective. Say for example if their shares fall by more than the index, the hedge will not fully offset their losses.

Actually, they are two hard bones stuck in Harapan's throat. Let go two of them, Harapan will survive. We need a younger PM, who has better visions to bring Malaysia to the next level.

After suffering the first round from the Covid-19 pandemic and MCO, the people are suffering from the second round of price hikes. The Quick Cut hair saloon near my place has increased its price by RM4 which is a hefty 22% increase. Some restaurants have increased their prices by a few ringgit extra. Are the price hikes permanent?
During the MCO, most of us have learnt to do things ourselves like cooking, cutting hair, making face masks, etc. We can put this skills into good use and avoid overpriced shops and services that prey on us.
The govt has pumped funds to help the businesses, but some businesses are only interested to make more profit from the people unscrupulously. They don't deserve receiving help using the taxpayers' money. What is the govt doing to help the people who suffer from profiteering?

The holy month of Ramadan is observed as a month of fasting, atonement for past mistakes, being thoughtful about what we think, say and do, seek forgiveness from those whom we have hurt and to forgive those who have hurt us.
The same is observed by Christians during the month of Easter.
Of what good is Ramadan and Easter if our heart and mind are filled to the brim with thoughts that distance us from God.
I have the highest respect for people truly faithful to whatever religions they embrace, but definitely not the fakes. Rais has this habit of exposing his deep most inner thoughts at the most unlikely time.
Selamat puasa to all devout Muslims.

The plight of refugees is indeed pitiful and they need help.
Unfortunately, in Malaysia, the lot of the genuine refugee has been tarnished by the wanton import of immigrants who were handed ICs. The previous BN government was responsible for this. These immigrants are more akin to economic migrants than refugees. They are mercenaries who seek greener pastures and are beholden to those who hand out the favours... and turn round and bite those hands once they feel more secure (a la Maslow?).

i wonder if we are the product of our system or our system is a product of us. Why can't Malaysians have self-discipline? Why must we allow the state apparatus to threaten and patronise us, sometimes for our own sakes, but many times in their own interests?

Petrol dealers bracing for losses, fuel prices expected to drop by over 10 sen
Fuel prices up across the board from May 16-22
Fuel prices have bucked the downward trend of late and will rise across the board from May 16 to 22.
The Finance Ministry said that RON97 petrol will be priced at RM1.61 per litre, up six sen from RM1.55.
The price of RON95 and diesel will increase by six sen and five sen respectively.
RON95 petrol will be priced at to RM1.31 per litre, up from RM1.25 per litre; while diesel will be priced at RM1.45 per litre, up from RM1.40 per litre previously.
Fuel prices had gone down drastically in the past few months due to the oversupply of crude oil in the market.
The Ministry said that the higher fuel prices were due to the increase in refined product prices in line with the rise in global crude oil prices.
“The government will continue to monitor the impact of the global crude oil price change and take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of the people," the ministry said in a statement Friday (May 15).
The weekly fuel pricing mechanism was reintroduced on Jan 5,2019 under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).
Under this system, fuel prices are announced every Friday and remain in force for one week.
