Koosan@ sorry as an investor my objective is invest in companies to generate total returns (capital growth+ Dividend income) from my investments! I am not investing in for charitable cause. There is no other way to judge successful investment than capital,growth! Absurd statement to say don’t just judge company based on their share performance. I am not too worried about short term underperformance but we are talking about underperformance since 2011. Blaming the exchange rate is also ridiculous! It all to do with governance I am afraid.

Genting does market the company well to potential investors. The more Shareholder focussed Companies hold capital markets day to invite analysts and institutional investors and highlight their plans and promote the company.

Small rise selling starts due to trust deficit. No sustained upward move.

US listing is not easy…but welcome as Genting will need to improve its governance and behaviour otherwise it will be fined for sure. So this a welcome sign for shareholders as we want to transparency and full compliance which US listing will bring. Also US listing is expensive and demanding reporting requirements!

@raymondroy…record profits means nothing if it does not translate into share price rise. The fact remains more people sell the shares than buy. The reason is simple, shareholder returns have been falling since 2011, where as the owner has other means to take returns / benefits from the company which is well published. The owner owns 40 % of shares in the company and this is problematic as there is no incentive to do anything as he gets his Deserts! Putting it simply.

@Raymandro ….not doing your professional fiduciary duties when you are somebodies payroll in my tantamount to corruption. Corruption takes many forms…..this behaviour is one of them. Non exec board members have fiduciary responsibilities and suppose to be independent and to protect shareholders interests.

@Choyson, the point I was making was the financial diary of Genting web site should state the date of results announcement thereby avoiding the need to speculate the date. All good well organised companies financial diary section of shareholders info has that. Another example of laxity.

if there is a loss and to pay a dividend would not be a good idea particularly with debt. All boils down to Malaysia performance! Fingers crossed. Malaysia revenue should be higher than last qtr, but expenses worry me.

What impact this will have on Genting B? we wait for Malaysia that will be the key result ...Genting S underperformed, Genting P over performed

My won expectation is that share price will challenge 54 week high soon running towards 2nd QTR results which should be significantly better than than 1st QTR, in revenue terms and hopefully there are no accounting surprises write downs, impairments or depreciation.

Lot of people in this forum dont understand how US works! They cause a correction others follow, they are first to exit and and first to enter. That is why US retail investors are the most wealthy in the world, as the effectively have inside information, as rests follow like lambs to slaughter. Case in point, Ali Baba US bankers wrote negative thigs abut Al Baba, the price collapsed from 400 + to 70 recently. Then suddenly JP Morgan who had previously said Ali Baba was uninvestible and high risk sent a note to confirm it is a strong buy! Price recovered nicely ....will continue to do. Many folks made 200% plus in a short time mostly in US. Lesson to to be learnt! Don't follow US blindly on negative news!

Plenty of bad news is already in the price. US i think will surprise us and it will find a way or reason to have equity rally. Not least US has the biggest retail investors in the world and can print money nilly willy. The wall of investible money from retail investors, pension and Life insurance funds has to have a home, so when there is a major correction, a rally is not too far away! Malaysian market which has has been hit hard over a longer period that US is due for a strong comeback. Unfortunately, the political instability is one of the main reasons. That said I see CIMB is undervalued even now!

Another concern is how contracts are written and whether they cover increase in materials cost. Most well written contracts for long term project would have the ability to cover increase in material costs, particularly when they are due to unseen event such as wars etc. So without having access to contracts one cannot state with confidence that Gamuda will loose out in such circumstances. L

Regular income from Highway concession v selling the interest is open to diverging views. Many think it is for the better, argument being fees could not be increased and therefore inflation would eat away. Combined with opportunity to realise a gain and reinvest including returning some to shareholders is not a bad thing, particularly as Gamuda is winning many contracts particularly offshore which proves it can compete and is not subject to favors! This to proves it is capable of covering the lost revenue from new contracts it wins and is in strong position to win significant contracts at home when govt decides to spend post election! I conclude it is under valued. When price drops post special dividend it may be time to add more shares from the dividend payout.

Can any one in this forum particularly the experts who celebrate every time Genting price goes down, explain the huge disparity in performance between Genting ADR quoted in US in OTC and Genting B in Malaysia? The difference is huge, ADR one is up circa 90%? I am have my own views but like to hear from the bear experts!

When it comes it will move very quickly. My friend went to RWLV, the occupation is high and hotel is very busy....all this means the results will much better quarter gone. Does one sell on small gains or wait for the real gain?

very confusing messages from the govt, 1 march then no it needs approval then we hear 2nd qtr, and so on. Why is it so difficult to have a set date which was agreed by the cabinet? CV Deaths quoted by India and UK are actually under reported. India has more like 4m deaths, as confirmed by independent bodies. We saw thousands of bodies thrown into the river...later to be found on the banks.
