pineapple123 I read somewhere that vaccines can be modified within weeks to deal with mutation not a big deal. Even with mutation, vaccine will still be effective just maybe slightly less effective thats all.

Ularsawa common sense tells you that Malaysians will go for whichever vaccines that have been approved first. Logically not all vaccines will be approved at the same time. Some may be approved earlie in 2021 some approved later in 2021. Not everyone is willing to wait for the other vaccines that malaysia ordered to be approved. Most people will just go for whichever vaccine has been approved earlier regardless of whether they have to pay for the vaccines themselves.

Not all vaccines that Malaysia ordered will arrive at the same time, some earlier some later depending on the date of approval in country of origin. Besides, few people will opt to be vaccinated with russian vaccine...Hence vaccines that are approved earlier will have the advantage in being able to be marketed earlier..Just my 2 cents...

From what i gather, most countries will vaccinate phase by phase starting with frontliners and high risk groups. It will not be the entire population in one go.....Some will only vaccinate up to 70% to achieve herd immunity...but even that wont happen all at once...

Besides, can we expect that vaccine acceptance rate is 100% amongst Malaysians and other countries worldwide ? i highly doubt so as there are a number of anti-vaxxers in Malaysia and around the world plus some people may choose not to be vaccinated due to religious or personal reasons...This might mean that the virus will most probably linger for a long time in the community, hence extending the duration of need for vaccines, facemask, social distancing measures etc in Malaysia and globally. Hence, a conservative estimate might be that covid-19 may not end until 2022. It may last longer than 2022 according to some other experts but lets hope not and pray it will end soon as we are all sick and tired of this virus.

Btw am i right to say that government will only sponsor vaccines once for 80% of the population in 2021 (excluding foreigners)? Furthermore, according to experts, Covid may last until 2022, whereby malaysians will have to pay for the vaccine out of their own pocket money then ?
