A joke to cheer your day. 😂

Tan Sri Tony, the founder of AirAsia, arrives in Kuala Lumpur. He enters a nasi lemak shop and orders a nasi lemak.

The waiter nods and says, "That'll be 10 cents, Tan Sri."

Surprised, Tony replies, "Wow, that's cheap!" and hands over the Ringgit.

The bartender smiles and says, "We aim to beat the competition. We're the cheapest nasi lemak in Malaysia."

“Malaysia Boleh," Tony responds.

Then the bartender notices, "Tan Sri, you don't have a fork and spoon. That'll be three Ringgit for one of ours."

Tony sighs but pays up. He takes his nasi lemak and goes to sit down.

“Sorry," the waiter adds, "there's a two Ringgit charge to sit unless you booked online for just one Ringgit."

Annoyed, Tony takes a sit and places his bag on the seat next to him.

“Tan Sri, you're takung two seats. You'll need an extra spot for another two Ringgit," says the waiter.

Frustrated, Tony stands up, places his nasi lemak on the table, and shouts, "This is ridiculous! Do you know who I am? I want to speak to the manager!"

“Of course, Tan Sri," replies the bartender.

"I've had enough," says Tony angrily. "I came for a meal and this is how I'm treated? I want to speak to the manager!"

"Certainly, Tan Sri," the bartender says cheerfully. "You can contact him via the messaging feature in our application.”

"I'll never come back to this restaurant!" Tony screams.

“That's fine, Tan Sri, but remember we're the only restaurant in Malaysia selling nasi lemak for 10 cents."

Why ordinary investors are shunning Bursa Malaysia - TK Chua

Let’s be realistic, I think for speculative play and gambling, ordinary investors stand no chance against corporate bigwigs and insiders.

May I ask how many percent of the listed companies in Bursa Malaysia today are of investment grade? My estimate is not even exceeding 20 percent.

These companies raised money from the market, but do they really care for returns to shareholders? How many companies have provided decent dividends, if at all declared any dividend, to shareholders?

To me, many of these companies with listed status are nothing more than “conduit” for them to print money. They exist mainly for the sole benefits of those who are in control of the companies.

The management and the controlling shareholders are being lavishly rewarded while shareholders who provided the funding are given pittance or nothing.

If we want to make Bursa Malaysia an investment destination of choice, the strategy is not to allow every Tom, Dick and Harry to list their companies. I have seen too much abuse on this. On the contrary, we must be more selective to allow companies to list.

I understand caveat emptor must be the basic guiding principle of investing. However, if the market is ineffectively regulated and infested with poor governance, I think it is difficult for ordinary investors to make choices.

We can’t blame them for shunning the stock market if their experiences have been less than encouraging.

Instead of encouraging more people to invest in the stock market blindly, the focus should be on making the market more efficient and transparent. The authorities must monitor the listed companies to prevent them from indulging excessive corporate abuse for the benefits of controlling shareholders

Biodiesel is a loss making business. Indonesia governmemt used palm oil export lavy and duty to support biodiesel.

Indonesia government B40 is to take up excess palm oil from market to support price. So please forget about B100 or palm oil at RM 8000.

If market is short of palm oil, Indonesia government as a responsible government should and will reduce the biodiesel blending mandate

Unutilized tax losses and unabsorbed capital allowances amounted to RM670.7 million and RM227.5 million respectively in FY2024 (Page
130 of the annual report).
Are there ways the companies can actually realize these benefits?

A lot of the unutilized tax losses were related to impairment in the planted forest. If we are able to sell the logs from the planted forest in the export market for USD250 per cubic meter, then we will be able to utilize the tax losses brought forward.

Jasa Tiasa not yet harvest any of its planted forest (planted trees 4,065,071).

Jaya Tiasa is assessing the correct strategic entry point to start harvesting cycle as we need to ensure there are sustainable trees supplies that meet the harvesting condition under government's policy to achieve economy of scale.

REFORESTATION
Manpower shortage continued to be an existential issue in this division. Despite this, in FY2024, the Group planted a total of 6,821 hectares in our LPFs bringing the total planted area to 45,966 hectares and the total number of planted trees to 4,065,071.

May I known when reforestation can to harvest? As AR 2006, reforestation started planting; As AR 2010, 29924 Ha is planted at 2010. Understood that reforestation is 12-15 gestation period. Why reforestation
still not in harvest time?

Yes, some of our planted trees have reached maturity stage. We are in the early planning stage where we are assessing the correct strategic entry point to start harvesting cycle as we need to ensure there are sustainable trees supplies that meet the harvesting condition under government's policy to achieve economy of scale.

At the moment, we are not focusing on the log manufacturing business until we have a sustainable supply of logs from our concession areas and/or planted forests. Only then will we consider all possible business models, including diversifying our customer base or exploring joint ventures with Chinese Companies.

I do not intend to hold another competition as I had learned enough lesson from above competition.

Ytlpower was top for the 6 months and 12 months due to surge in demand of Power in Singapore that cause a spike in Ytlpower earning.

YTLpower was last at the last 6 months due to profit taking/price correction due to abt normalisation of Singapore power supply and demand and their big cap Data centre not yet contribute to earning.

Ytlpower will do very well moving forward if their Data Centre can generated big enough earning as expected.

But people start to doubt will the earning materilised when there are so many Big Tech companies and new comers also building so many AI/conventional DC.

The most popular valuation metrics are Price/Earnings, Price/Ebidta, Price/Sales, Price/Book value and EV/Ebitda.
(EV or Enterprise Value = Market cap + Debt)

Many different methods as listed above are used to arrive at the valuation for stocks.

However, remember that there is ever only one definition for valuation: the discounted cash flow.

All the above metrics are merely short forms or shortcuts for discounted cash flow. These metrics are widely used because they are easier to compute and understand, and can be compared across companies, sectors and markets. Critically, while these shortcut metrics are useful, they are insufficient and sometimes, can be misused to present a false picture

My take: Valuation by valuation metric is based on the past and recent past financial performance

Whereas DCF is the Present value of the investment of all the expected/projected cash flow over the lifetime discounted at the appropriate discount rate.

The only flaw on DCF is it did not take into account whether the company is currently in net aseets or net liabilities.

Hence I totally disagreed with CapA independant advisor DCF valuation on AAAGL and AAB which currently billions in net liabilities

Since common stocks, even of investment grade, are subject to recurrent and wide fluctuations in their prices, the intelligent investor should be interested in the possibilities of profiting from these pendulum swings.

By timing we mean the endeavor to anticipate the action of the stock market - to buy or hold when the future course is deemed to be upward, to sell or refrain from buying when the course is downward

We are equally sure that if he places his emphasis on timing, in the sense of forecasting, he will end up as a speculator and with a speculator's financial results.

Now I know why 3ii is so against timing because he totally miss the goal what is timing about.

Timing is not about looking at price trend everyday to profit from price swing but it is all about looking at the bigger picture of busines and supply and demand inequalibrium that will cause business going into boom or burst cycle and time your entry and exit.

First and foremost my congratulation to INSAS’s BOD and Management team for a job well done in generating sustainable earnings (FY 2024 EPS: RM 0.125) supported by positive cash flows and maintain a positive/healthy financial position (FY 2024 NAPS: RM 3.67 Vs FY 2024 NAPS: RM 3.53) with CASH AND CASH EQUIVALENTS COMPRISE OF:-

Fixed deposits pledged (Note 20) (214,893) (233,801)

Question 1: I’m tired of asking for a better, fairer and equitable dividend year after year with little success. For this year I would like to rephrase my question: Are BOD owed Insas shareholders a duty, responsibility and an explanation when, how and on what conditions the management will use the billion cash hoard for business expansion or return part of the cash hoard as dividend to shareholders?

I am holding to my remaining jayatiasa for the only reason jayatiasa is now in net cash position and should have more than enough positive cash flow to reward shareholders with dividend.

I'm working for a fully integrated palm oil company and with commitment to No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) sustainability policy and net zero carbon emmission by 2050 that aims to create a more environmentally and socially responsible palm oil industry.

The future supply of palm oil will be stagnant or decrease/limited but demand will continues to increase due to population and living standard increase. Hence CPO price should be good.

The fact capitalA operating cash flow is not even enough to pay the lease and finance cost lease libilities for lease payment due to lessors.

Hence need more borrowing.

9 months ended 30/9/2024
RM '000
Cash generated from operation 2,365,608
Net cash generated from operating activities 2,162,677

So is cash flow enough to pay what Stony reply in AGM minutes?
The majority of the liabilities of Aviation/AAX are lease liabilities of RM20 billion that will be repaid over the tenure of lease ranging from 12 to 18 years.
Current lease liabilities of RM5 billion represent lease payment due within 12 months and will be serviced by operating cash flow for the next 12 months.
Aviation is expected to generate positive cash flow to service its liabilities going forward, that is supported by valuation of both AAB and AAAGL under the DCF method

Or
Cash flow from financing activities
RM '000
Proceed from borrowings 1,551,768
Repayment of borrowings (524,519)
Repayment of lease liabilities (2,621,956)

Definition: Intrinsic value is the Present value of the investment of all the expected cash flow over the lifetime discounted at the appropriate discount rate.

Intrinsic value = (CF1/ (1+d)^1) + (CF2/(1+d)^2) + ----- +(CFn/(1+d)^n)

Where:
CF = Cash Flow in the Period
d = Discount rate
n = The period number
This Intrinsic value is actually a Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
Example of intrinsic value of INSAS is then the Sum of DCF expected cash flow from varies business streams.
For INSAS assets rich case, it is my opinion that the liquid assets minus total liabilities should be added to this intrinsic value.

The only flaw on DCF is it did not take into account whether the company is currently in net aseets or net liabilities.

Hence I totally disagreed with CapA independant advisor valuation on AAAGL and AAB which currently billions in net liabilities

United Plantation 2023 oil yield 6.11 MT per hectare or about 30MT FFB per hectare per year.

For a 5 hectare to collect 20 to 25 tons per month mean per hectare 48-60 MT FFB per year a better result that any well managed plantation in the world.
Is he read wrongly or is he bullshitting or a better story teller with fake facts and figures?

Felda Settlers :
Felda Kota Gelanggi 1 settler, Johari A. Manaf, 81, said he is grateful because the estate he operates has shown vast improvement, as he is now able to harvest about 20 to 25 tons per month.

👉Based on current prices and his 5-hectare (14-acre) palm oil plantation, the report said he is now able to earn between RM20,000 to RM30,000 a month.

Kosmo today reported that the price for fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from January to October this year ranged from RM800 to RM900 per metric ton, before skyrocketing to RM1,200 recently.
