Tomorrow if price falls further I will definitely buy. I still have half of my Boustead sales proceeds to redeploy.

Spent half an hour doing a bit of research on Rubberex and noted that the single largest shareholder did indeed sell a chunk at RM1.40 level in April ; so who bought this chunk? Significant portion of revenue is derived in Malaysia which means no worries of US Customs blocking any shipment. Am I right about this? A built up of huge cash pile might mean a bumper dividend might come.

@neutralist, I didn't compare Rubberex with the other glove companies. I just happened to chance upon it going through a free fall. No counter's market price falls forever, there's always a bottom and so long as the company has a profitable business, its market price will rise again. I previously owned Supermax for over 10 years and sold last year before it turned ex-bonus for around RM22.60 I think, and haven't looked at another glove counter until now.

@ neutralist, my money was stuck at Boustead until I sold off recently and was looking for some other counters to redeploy into and found Rubberex by chance.

Why do I buy Rubberex? Because when I buy chicken rice I see the chicken rice vendor wears gloves; when I buy satay I see the satay seller wears gloves; when I go for dental treatment I see the dental doctor wears gloves, I see the nurses wear gloves .... and I see them taking off their gloves and replacing with new ones frequently. Before Covid-19 pandemic I never see gloves.

Yes, I remember reading about it many months ago and have forgotten about it. It's a time bomb unless they re-negotiate the terms. Who holds the sukuk?

The proceeds from my sale of Boustead last week allows me to go on buying spree today of a number of counters.

@Johnzhang, good time to scoop up undervalued counters at depressed prices.

Syndicate can push up O&G counters anytime they want now. Last week volume has been extremely low to draw out the weak holders. One fine morning we will wake up to see O&G counters rally, dominating the top ten most active counters. I already took up position accumulating at 8.5 to 9 sen recently.

I sold with intention to redeploy the proceeds elsewhere but still haven't decided where.

We have to be realistic. LTAT had opportunity to privatise Boustead last year but kept deferring the decision until finally calling it off. I don't have faith in LTAT anymore.

Johnzhang, don't you ever sell?

I started accumulating Boustead from September 2020, my overall average cost is around 62.5 sen. I have sold at prices ranging from 73 to 78 sen.

Those people who bought up to end of January this year in anticipation of a privatisation price of at least 80 sen which was then called off should be able to exit at a profit on Wednesday or Friday.

@Johnzhang, I ditched completely all my OSK shares at 90.5 sen on 11/6 and looking to redeploy the proceeds elsewhere ....... maybe MAA, ;-)
2021-06-20 12:35 | Report Abuse
I think at the AGM/EGM in June 2020 (I am no longer shareholder by then) a 6% dividend was approved by the shareholders, to be paid within 24 months. Already 12 months have lapsed. MAA has more than enough excess cash to pay out the 6% dividend but the BOD are deliberately delaying it.
2021-06-20 12:17 | Report Abuse
@investorbat, instead of another SCR, the controlling shareholders might attempt a MGO instead like what Tony Tiah did at TA Enterprise. But they are in no hurry. SCR is difficult to succeed because of strong opposition from the minorities (30% voted NO in the last SCR).
2021-06-20 12:09 | Report Abuse
MGO creeping rules not allowing controlling shareholders to increase their shareholdings by more than 2% within 6 months period restrict the share buybacks. A breach of this 2% rule would trigger a MGO which the controlling shareholders do not want.

@Johnzhang, you can scroll up to the comments in this forum during May 2019 when the EGM was held for the proposed SCR for further details.
2021-06-20 10:12 | Report Abuse
@Johnzhang, sometimes we get lucky with our stock picks. I held MAA for over a year, received dividends thrice (dividends were great then at 3% to 6% half yearly). Weeks before the proposed SCR, MAA shares went on a downtrend dipping to around 50 sen and I added on to lower my average cost to 60 sen. Suddenly price suddenly start to creep up but no one anticipated a takeover attempt, most of us were just accumulating for the good dividend yield and expecting bumper dividend from the balance of the sale proceeds from the disposal of the domestic insurance business to Zurich.
2021-06-20 10:01 | Report Abuse
On the same day after the EGM (it was not suspended on the EGM day) the price of MAA crashed below 90 sen in an immediate reaction to the failed SCR.
