Maintain BUY, with new TP of MYR1.96 from MYR1.21, 33% upside plus c.2% yield. The recent change of guard and substantial shareholders are seen as positive. We also assess the potential of the highly anticipated foreign visa system (VLN), which could provide upside to Datasonic Group’s FY21F-22F bottomline by 143% and 140%, and translate to a hypothetical MYR1.44/share (20x P/E). We tactically increase P/E to 39x (from 24x), forming a new TP of MYR1.96, implying 0.5x probability of the hypothetical value of VLN.

2020 prospects subdued. The signing of a first-stage trade accord between the US and China should bring some relief to markets. Still, we believe the constant unpredictability of “what happens next” over the past 18 months of bitter battle is unlikely to go away quickly. For now, we continue to expect the moderation in economic growth to weigh on prospects of ASEAN-4 Banks. Indonesia banks is our only OVERWEIGHT – strongest earnings growth within our regional coverage, and reasonable valuations despite its outperformance in 2019.

DSONIC dropped 2.0 sen (-1.33%) to close at RM1.48 yesterday.
Chart-wise, the stock has been moving upwards since last December.
Yesterday, the stock continued to trend above all its key SMAs. Coupled with a bullish MACD indicator, we believe that the stock could move higher.
Should buying momentum persist, the stock is expected to test overhead resistance at RM1.65 (R1) and RM1.75 (R2).
Conversely, support levels can be identified at RM1.35 (S1) and RM1.25 (S2).
