Private Placement history

1st Private Placement 27 mil announced 29 May 2017 and Bursa approved 31 May 2017

On 29 May 2017, Krono announced its private placement of 27 mil shares when market price was 46. Bursa approval was obtained on 31 May and 1st block 14.2 mil shares was place out on 7 Aug at 79 Sen (discount of 2.98% based on 5 day VWMAP up to including 4 Aug) when share had trended up to closed on that date at 84.5 Sen due to good Q2 2017 result announced.
2nd block of 12.8 mil shares was place out at 84 Sen (discount of 1.45% based on 5 day VWMAP up to including 15 Aug) on 16 Aug 2017 and share close at 95 Sen
Private investors must had been sold on the story of the Co future prospects to lure the goat into the lion den. The share then trend higher and higher to peak at 125 on 2 Nov 2017 and all investors made money if choose to exit prior to 2nd Nov. On 2nd Nov, it announced a disappointing result and share open gap down to 113. Since then the share price went downtrend to a low of 44 until recent recovery with good Q2 2018 result


2nd Private Placement 32.3 mil shares announced 29 May 2017 and Bursa approved 31 May 2017

On 2 August 2018, Krono announced another private placement of 32.3 mil shares when market price was 70 Sen. Bursa approval was obtained on 13 August and share price close at 68 Sen on that date. With a good Qtr2 result announced, the share price had moved to 76.5 closing.
Expecting history to repeat itself and Krono management to sell on their track record on success of previous private placement and to invite potential investors again by showing a good Q2 result which was released on 15 Aug 2018 and the prospects moving forward into 2019

Valuation Based on forecast FY 2018 EPS of 5 Sen – Based on PE 15 to 18 Valuation range from 75 Sen to 90

On 15 Aug Co reported a Q2 net profit of RM 4.5 mil with an EPS of 1.28 Sen. As for the 1H 30 June 2018, Co reported a net profit RM6.5 mil and the EPS was 1.86 Sen.
Do note that in Q1 2018 there was a one off non-recurring share based payment of RM1.7 mil which effectively reduced its profit. Adjusting back the share based payment of RM1.7 mil, Co Q1 net profit would had been RM3.7 mil instead of RM2.0 mil reported. On same basis, its adjusted EPS would be 1.13 Sen instead of 0.61 Sen. In comparison with Q1 2018 (adjusted operating profit of RM3.7 mil), Q2 FY 2018 net profit had increased by 22%. An impressive growth.

The average Qtr EPS for 1H FY 2018 is 1.2 Sen (after adjusting exceptional RM1.7 mil expenses). For FY 2017 the average Qtrly EPS was 1.15 Sen and for FY 2016 was 0.75 Sen. The Year to Year growth in average Qtry EPS from 2016 to 2018 is 53% and 4.3% respectively. Net profit had also grown from FY 2015 of RM 3.059 mil to FY 2017 of RM12.06 mil. The Year to Year growth in net profit from FY 2016 to 2017 is 135% and 68% respectively. H FY2018 has already achieved 54% of FY 2017 net profit.

Given its growth rate and in IOT business, for valuation, I am incline to give it a PE range of 15 to 18, with my projected FY 2018 EPS of 5 Sen (variation of +/- 10%), its valuation can range from 75 Sen to 90 Sen. My forecast FY2019 EPS would be EPS 6 Sen (20% Year on Year Growth). Mr Market would decide on its valuation and not me

The sales of FY 2015 was RM61.4 mil, FY 2016 was RM 81.3 mil and FY 2017 was RM 144.4 mil and 1st half FY 2018 RM79.2 mil. The Year to Year growth in sales from FY2015 to FY 2017 is 32.5% and 77.6% respectively. IH 2018 has already achieved 55% of FY 2017 sales

Gross profit margin had dropped from FY 2015 to 1H 2018 from 26.26% to 24.74% which is still healthy level

With the impending private placement of 32.3 mil shares to raise about RM24 mil probably by end October, we expect to see further expansion of business which would augur well for Krono
