Better management and more consistent result in the past 2 years than Masteel. 3.5 PE at EPS 49 cents is RM 1.71. Oversold.

31 May 2018 when all the bad news came, Ssteel dropped to RM 1.58. Lionind dropped to RM 0.70.

Last quarter, Ssteel did the best amongst all, in my opinion, yet now it’s lower than the dip on 31 May and Lionind is 25% higher than that dip...

Exactly. Even if we compare the EPS with Annjoo, I think ssteel won 5-6 quarters straight. But Annjoo price is always higher. Wtf.

I thought so too. Past 4 Q EPS was already 36.7cents. PE 5 = RM 1.84. Not even looking into the future yet.... I’m still collecting.

stella, Ssteel’s QR was not bad but not exactly good. There’re too many uncertainties at this point. Personally, I think the poor market sentiment towards steel is why it’s stuck at such low PE.

If the EPS was 12-14 cents for the recent quarter, then it would have Lifted itself from the bad spell. At EPS 8 cents, which is boosted by tax refund, it was really sitting on the boarder line which gave no clear msg. Will next few quarters be better (I seriously hope so). Or will it remain stuck at EPS 8 cents?

EPS 8 cents per quarter is actually pretty good itself. That’s if the market finally give it a PE or 8-12...

trulyinvest, my old friend who is now inactive here once told me that there’s reserves and insurance on the court case. Lose also no big impact but if won then is a bonus.

This will unlikely affect just Annjoo. Masteel and Lionind might take another round of beating together tomorrow. The question is whether ssteel will be spared or even go up slightly given that their management was doing much better compared to Annjoo which is supposed to have an edge over material cost.

Just speaking my personal objectively. No offense or intention to talk down any counter. I’m also in long steel together with you all.

Well. We already know Q4 last financial year, EPS was 1.3 cents. It’s not going to be lower than that.

And the first 3 quarters this financial year already did around double of last financial full year.

It is when big waves come it differentiates the men from boys.

Share price reflects future prospects. So by right the QR should affect share price unless it contains information that adjust market’s understanding / projection of its future prospects.

The previous sharp increase seems to be building height for it to dig drain. But a drain is only a drain if there’s the second part that pulls the price back up as the shark does one last round of collection.

This place is crowded and it’s hard to tell the pressing down / shares collection. What if the drain doesn’t form in the end...?

Hi Windcloud, Miti weekly report has the scrap price. And I’d like to apologize here for sharing wrong info previously. I looked back and found that the scrap price peaked in Q1 2018 at around 380-410 USD. In Q2 it dropped to USD 340-370. It climbed back to USD 370-385 in July/Aug.

So the big unknown now is the volume...bringing this up again, ssteel previous QR recorded a significant increase in inventory. I hope it’s because they secured a big order where shipment/delivery took place in Q2.

Last year same quarter EPS is almost zero, so that’s easy to beat. Beside price, there’s volume that is not transparent. Scrap metal price increased by quite a bit and is trading in USD if i’m Not mistaken.

It’s really hard to say where it’ll go from here. Last quarter it built up its inventory, I wonder if it was meant to boost Q2’s performance. Also, share price is reflective of future prospects, less about what happened in the past quarter but not entirely independent.

In the end, whoever throws in sufficient money controls the price. Let’s hope it continues to move up steadily.

The new government has made it clear. The project should benefit Malaysia. We’ve also paid quite a lot already. There is a remote chance that this project gets suspended but I think that’s quite unlikely. Most likely will end up scaled down and hopefully local companies get some jobs and source a certain % of materials locally.
