's (FGV) earnings jumped 356% to RM143.73mil in the financial year ended Dec 31, 2017 from RM31.46mil in FY16, underpinned by a strong performance from the plantation and logistics & others (LO) sectors.

The company announced on Friday that profit before tax (PBT) increased by 60% to RM417mil from RM260mil.

FGV group president and CEO Datuk Zakaria Arshad said: “The plantation sector registered a significant improvement with a profit of RM554mil from RM234mil in the previous year.”

The stronger performance, he said, was due to higher fresh fruit bunches (FFB) FB production, better crude palm oil (CPO) sales margins and stronger performance from JV companies.

However, it FY17 revenue however slipped 1.6% to RM16.97bil from RM17.24bil a year ago.

In the fourth quarter, its earnings fell 31.9% to RM76.57mil from RM112.45mil. Its revenue fell at a slower pace of 16.9% to RM4.27bil from RM5.15bil.

Earnings per share were 2.1 sen compared with 3.1 sen.

With China unlimited import and GE rally, I can't see why won't hit 2.2 within near term. Now IB already stated 2018 will be turnaround year for FGV. From TA, RSI and MACD show bullish sign. Previous dropped, I suspect they push down to collect more, as insider knew the result will be good. Else ,why this week,the shareprice recovering fast while market unstable. Somemore, today 3pm will release their qtr result with fb live, if result not good, do you guys think, will they slap their own face with so high profile? Usually IB will upgrade the TP after result, so more to come for.FGV. TP 2.5 during GE is not a dream, but is achievable. I heard TP rm2 when it was rm1.7. I laughed. Now I regret why I didn't take more while it's still cheap. Same as Drb.
