Not sure if its okay to post this. But I have a friend happen to know from his friend working there, claiming the coming quarterly profits jumped and the staffs that were aware bought in. Not freaking sure if this is real, but I hope u all take this post with an open mind and don't get too greedy.

I think nothing is more important than looking at its upcoming quarterly financial results. The results this time will definitely allow current long-term investors to decide whether to hold or sell. It's been 2 years since they take on restructuring measures and I believe its time to show it in their books.

Market is doing well for the past few days. GHLSYS is absolutely one good long-term investment I made. The only userID I'm familiar as of now is Christine Goh. Many came and went, but only she stayed, since I invested in this stock in Dec 2013.
All the best for long term investors to this stock, and hopefully many more positive news to come.

Now all the "pros" start to give their predictions and comments like an oracle. Prior to this when its not moving, everyone was so negative.

ckwong, most of my positions are in GHLSYS, SMRT is just another stock that i buy. You being a short-termist investor has no clue what is happening. If you want me to predict share prices for the next 1 - 2 days, I must say no one can do that.
Rather than being so shallow in putting blames, why not reassess where you go wrong? Firstly, I'm sure you bought the SMRT at all time high. That is not recommendable and subsequent pullbacks gave you no safety margin. And to top it off, I am a long-term investor, hence your short-sightedness in investing looks childish to me.
Looking deep into SMRT, it is a great stock with good potential. SMRT is just like the previous GHLSYS, whereby it impairs when necessary and start anew. Infact, SMRT did not impair as much as GHLSYS. You can ask Christine, back then there were so many shallow investors talking bad of GHLSYS and now look who is the winner.
ckwong, you need to have a longer foresight and not just expect to be rich overnight trading in and out. If that is your case, being a non-professional like you, you will just end up burning more cash to long-term investors like us, by selling us cheaply in times of panic and just stare quietly when the price rebounds.

crawler, i advise u not to argue with me. I know the entire process of payment to customs from excise duties to sales tax, so I am very well-aware what I'm talking about. Payment of sales tax is as easy as paying your credit card bills online. GHLSYS comes in a different way and provide difference services to users.
Cheers.

I will buy more at these depressed prices. The stock volume is extremely low and has been unfairly and severely punished for reasons that are non-cash in nature (read the quarterly announcement). The company is performing absolutely well, if we remove the accounting impairment and expenses, which greatly deviate the overall picture of business performance.
I suggest investors to take this opportunity to collect as the revenue constantly increases, indicating signs of solid growth momentum.
2015-03-09 16:31 | Report Abuse
crawler, from your statement, you don't seem to have much knowledge in GHLSYS. Submission of GST by companies to Customs can be made via online banking. You don't need a company like GHLSYS for such service.

Earnings were hit by one-off expenses such as goodwill impairment, corporate exercises, amortization of intangibles, etc.
All these are merely accounting and by accounting, you will never see the true picture of business performance. Look the fair and pristine figures such as revenue, number of students enrolment, etc, cashflows, etc.
They give a better picture of the performance of a company. Revenue increased significantly with the acquisition of new CUCMS university. Also look into the future catalysts such as Pro-Elt contracts, possible MESB partnership, improvement of CUCMS enrolment and listing to the main market. These are extremely crucial factors for the future of the company.
We should be holding on to stocks that we see great future. At a growth stage now, there will definitely be turbulences here and there, but given sufficient time, they will grow into a strong company where we can just sit down and collect dividends.

To be frank, as an experienced individual in finance and accounting, I see good numbers in GHL's financial results and position. Looking strictly at the point of profit before tax, it is evident the company is growing at an impressive rate. Cash levels are also improving, indicating signs of healthy cashflows.
Quite honestly, higher depreciation costs and taxation are not a bad thing. Capex is required in order to prepare the business to take up new opportunities. These infrastructures are crucial in facilitating the growth of the company.
While this company is pretty much a growth stock, it is one that has very much potential in it. The nature of the business has high business growth and opportunities. More and more people are moving towards a cashless environment and it is highly encouraged by the Government.
As long as the competent team of people are running the show, along with Creador, I see this company can bring a huge impact to the society and the way of doing business.
We hope to see more revenues coming in from the recent activities and deals made by the management. I believe very strongly we can observe strong earnings from the next few quarters.
We can always put a time frame on a particular stock and see if it really performs. If it doesn't perform up to your standards, after all the positive news has been factored in, it is reasonable for you to sell it. Just make sure the stock is given sufficient time to shine and not being prematuredly sold off.

kellysgk, buying back now is still reasonable, considering the fact that the share price has not risen sharply. also, ask yourself are you FA or TA? that is most important.
2015-01-27 19:22 | Report Abuse
kellysgk, don't really know what you are thinking. Nothing goes wrong with the company why sell? If you sell just because the share price falls and not due to fundamental concerns, then you are really not suitable for investments. Because every time share prices falls, you will sell them, ultimately you will just lose a lot of money in the long run.

Just let the management do their work. We can passively manage our funds and if we're unhappy just sell them.

After reading many news articles, locally and worldwide, I can't help but notice the world is gradually moving towards cashless transactions, which is via e-payments. Less and lesser people will be using cash and infact, credit cards need to be changed soon to facilitate paywave, a new technology.

BV still owns a large sum of shares despite not being a substantial shareholder. I like to invest in turnaround companies with a sustainable business with large potential future growth. That is why I have invested in this counter.
If a company is undergoing a turnaround, and you happen to spot high possibility of turnaround, you will be rewarded extremely handsomely for taking such risks. I'm wiling to take those risks as I see a strong management team of SMRT and Creador. I believe they will be able to bring value to the company and eventually turnaround MEGB to be one of the largest education conglomerate in Malaysia.
2015-01-12 19:10 | Report Abuse
Seriously, who cares if tomorrow what price will it be? Are you guys really adopting such short-sighted strategy for SMRT? If you want fast gains, please go with other penny stocks like IFCA, etc, and definitely not SMRT. If you truly believe the intrinsic value of SMRT and turnaround capabilities of MEGB, you should be looking over more than 1 year time horizon to double or triple your investment capital.
If buy or sell decision is based on tomorrow's price, you can easily be taken advantaged of by sharks to intentionally lower the stock price and force out weak holders such as yourselves. Then will then pick again at lower prices, like how they usually operate.

Makes more sense when GHLSYS is finalizing TPA to launch EDCs. They are preparing the infrastructures in placed to hit to the market when local markets begins to accept the new cashless payment idea.

Hi Tan KW, thank you once again for your hard work and efforts. Below are my stock picks for 2015. I will be using a different investing style this time, which consist fully of FA.
1) GHLSYS - 48,000 shares
2) SMRT - 51.000 shares
3) MMSV - 56,000 shares
If there are extra cash or insufficient cash, you may make adjustments to MMSV by adding or reducing the number of shares. Once again, thank you very much.
Analysis of stock picks: I believe, out of these 3 companies, SMRT and MMSV are fundamentally strong and earnings improvements can be observed every quarter. SMRT is in a solid industry, which is education and is experiencing the biggest growth with the acquisition of a medical university in Cyberjaya.
For GHLSYS, it may not be the most attractive stock in the market based on valuations but I would like to take some risks and invest in companies I see huge growth potential. E-payments are still the way to go and I believe in time the younger generations with great exposure to the Internet will start to use this form of payment.

I have a feeling a huge bunch of people here complaining slow, no movement, etc are a huge bunch of impatient, short-termist people.
They invested in a growth company with a short-term mindset is actually a disaster. What if the growth company could not perform in your given short-term period target? You will cut loss and sell it only to see it surge months later.
If you guys want fast money, go for extremely penny stocks like sumatec, etc where you can gain fast and lose faster.
When the mindset of investing is wrong at the entry stage, the entire process of holding the stock will be extremely challenging, hence any fall in the price is greatly testing you psychologically as your investment horizon does not allow you to stay longer than you could afford. When that happens, you felt trapped and stupid, then feeling losing out that you didn't invest in other stocks, and thousands of other emotional thoughts blaming yourself.

bad000, by showing your skills in bad mouthing others, you already proved to everyone that you are just a trouble maker with no intelligence.
I have given buy and sell calls on certain stocks and they were timely. You cant be expecting buy calls without sell calls when the company's potential changes. Read back my posts, I have given timely sell calls and if my loyal followers sold when I sell, they would have gotten away with a tidy profit.
Probably you are badly burnt by this counter hence you behaved this way. but losing your emotions and blaming someone else for your losses is not an intelligent way to learn from mistakes.

During times like this, its very important to look at the fundamental and potential of the company not macroeconomic factors. Does the plunge in oil prices affect the business of e-commerce? Will the sales of Lazada, Rakuten, Touch n Go slow down with this macroeconomic factor?
If the answer is no, you should not even bother to look at the stock price as it is always known to us prices will fluctuate in a very volatile manner due to human emotions. If you can handle emotions well, you will be grateful you did not sell this stock during this time when being tested and challenged by the market. The future potential of this company is strong recurring income from various countries and it will only grow bigger and bigger as the economy expands.
This is a risk worth taking if you believe the business model. That potential may triumph the success of many tech companies such as MYEG, SCICOM, etc in Malaysia as its growing opportunities are huge. No one knows what happens 3 - 5 years from now but definitely, if you believe in something, you should not give up due to short-term challenges like now. You just need to be able to withstand your emotions of prices fluctuations like Warren Buffet and Peter Lynch. This does not applies if the companies' business are fundamentally affected, like those O&G stocks.
I know something is brewing within GHLSYS when Cycas decided to purchase more stocks at prices way above their average price last week. They believed that at current prices, the reward to risk ratio is very high. No doubt this is not an overnight matter and it may take years for a fruitful return. But I realized in our investing life, it is not about the consistent years of winning in the market that make you rich, but that only few good years that will make you rich when everything falls in the right place.
To wrap up this write-up, I would like to highlight a few catalysts that may propel GHLSYS to a strong multi-billion dollar company in years to come:
1) Recovery in the political and economic climate in Thailand
2) Great acceptance of e-payment services provided by GHLSYS in Philippines
3) Acquisition of a company to strengthen its foothold in IndoChina
4) Partnership with local statutory bodies/authorities/agencies and banks to expand its presence in South East Asia
The above factors may seem difficult to achieve but it is not. I would say achieving it is not difficult at all but it may take some time to achieve it. Hence, for it to blossom into a strong juggernaut, give yourself some time for this company where its expansion potential is extremely huge. For companies like this I am willing to take extra risks for its highest reward to risk ratio. I have not found another company in Malaysia that I am willing to do this due to limited tech companies.

Like I said earlier, if investors listen to my advice, they would have escaped a painful and destructive loss. It will only fall further to no end and no catalyst or fundamental to rebound.
2014-12-14 13:18 | Report Abuse
So You, you let your losses slide to almost 50% loss? Why didn't you cut loss earlier? Oil prices won't go up anytime soon and it takes a long time for downstream providers to recover. Your money will be trapped there for quite some time if you don't cut loss now.

This company has been a joke and I've sold it long time ago.
2014-12-09 11:19 | Report Abuse
This company has so much potential if give sufficient time to achieve it. I am very confident Simon Loh and his team, along with Creador are working so hard now to scale its products overseas within the ASEAN region. Our challenge now is to hold at a difficult time like now or if you believe you can take higher risk now for high rewards in future, you may want to add more by averaging down.
Note that the share price falls with low volume, means it is not sustainable. Small group of panic investors are selling down just to protect their capital. However, long-term investors like us must look at a longer picture and not be affected by short-term fluctuations which in no way, affects the fundamentals of the company. Macroeconomic factors like plunging oil prices are worldwide, and how does it even relate to an e-payment company?
Even big names like Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett has seen their share prices fallen by a large percentage but they never cared about stock prices. They believe in doing great work for the business and we should believe in management like them, like what we can observe from the CEO.
2014-12-09 11:08 | Report Abuse
Anything below 0.80 was a good buy, now looking at 0.68, seriously it is very attractive. The reason SMRT falls is caused by bad market sentiment now with plunging oil prices and coupled with low volume transactions of this stock. Major shareholders did not dispose the stock in large quantities hence the price now does not in anyway reflects its true value. Even if it falls to 0.30 with 100 shares done, do you think now the counter worth 0.30?
I would suggest people to start their bargain hunting now by looking at companies with solid fundamentals, has recurring income, competent management and non O&G related companies. Right now is not the buy O&G companies yet as it may take some time to recover.
SMRT has hit all the points I mentioned and I believe if your costs hover around 0.7 - 0.8 you're safe with its attractive PE. Take note CUCMS will generated more profits for SMRT by the next quarter with recent 100% acquisition from 70%.
2014-12-05 16:37 | Report Abuse
If your cost is below 0.80, you shouldn't be too depressed. The quarterly earnings reflects a positive improvement in the company business and there are many catalysts such as purchase of MEGB, main market listing, etc. We also expect the Uni from Cyberjaya to record improved earnings in the coming months and years as it is still an expanding Uni. Further acquisitions into the conglomerate will significantly drive the growth of the Company, and trust me Education sector won't go wrong if you have an established name like Sunway, Monash, IMU etc.

When the market goes down, people start to become more philosophical by saying money is not important. It is certainly true to some extent. Just make sure don't use this reason to cloud your investment decisions. Cut loss when needed and hold if you believe it is just a temporary rout.

Definitely your single view here is not going to change the view of everyone here, needless to say changing Creador's view in the management just because of a single interview. I have a different interpretation of your views in his replies to the interviewer's question.
The questions are very open-ended and there are not a single answer to those questions. Everyone posed with questions like these needs time to think and structure their questions carefully before answering. I'm sure even people with strong visions may need time to articulate. That being said, his answers to the questions you mentioned remained crystal clear, which is by way of further acquisitions, closely monitor Thailand situation, start the ball rolling in Philippines.
He also mentioned in spending millions in R&D and their services are wide-ranging in which not many companies do that.
Human interpretations are highly subjective and interviews are not the best way to gauge for management competency. You need to look further what the have achieved from 2 years ago and now. It is indeed a milestone and I believe Simon Loh and Brahmal are heavy driving forces behind major corporate exercises of this company.
2014-11-28 16:42 | Report Abuse
The CEO knows what he is talking about and is very sure of the company's vision. He has plans in more acquisitions, partnering with more companies and getting involved with the Gov to make it happen. Furthermore, Creador is the main engine behind their growth and I believe the team can contribute significantly to the GHLSYS.
Nevertheless, we need to monitor 2015 closely and see how the firm is going to expand in this direction. I'm sure there is something in the pipeline and it is good to me they are not focusing so much on results now, but more on long-term perspectives. Results will come in later when everything is in place.
