Luckily i bought quite substantially at 0.53 today as I would expect the slight dip occur early in the morning and then rebound very quickly. Cheers to everyone who bought today. Now with all this behind us, we should look forward to the completion of the Vietnam powerplant project.

Based on what I have read in the quarterly report, they charged out RM50m in the P&L, not RM25m. So excluding this one off cost, the profit should be RM38m, which is spectacular.
Also they do not need any rights issues as they have sold of the USJ land with handsome profits. The funds generated from the sale can used to build the power plant easily.
Wait for some early dips 2mr and then top up more.

@i3lurker, i can't believe people still talk about free shares for Jaks. Maybe you're too shallow minded or a bit behind time in your assessment. Please go read further and analyze yourself why is there a need for free shares. If you don't how, let me teach you an easy way. It's called Google.
The share price today has proven it's point that Jaks is a solid company with good future. Many naysayers are here trying to buy in at lower price as they have missed the boat. But if they want to do that, please try harder and come out with solid facts rather than some lame reasons.

If u look at the entire bursa stocks, GHL is the biggest and strongest epyament company. Revenue and MPay are still considerably small.

Q1 which will be released on May will definitely get hit by the write off by rm25m. This is really a tough decision to make as the price has been chased up to quite recently, more than 30% in a matter of weeks. And the property division and mall remains a drag to the company with daily LAD expenses being incurred.
2019-01-18 01:47 | Report Abuse
John Lee, your analysis is flawed because when Jaks made the provision of 50m in their books, it is merely an expense in PL and hence does not affect cash flow. Now that the BG is released, there is an actual cash outflow of 50m out from their bank accounts, a devastating blow for cash flow analysts like KC Chong.
The official announcement proved to a real pain now that u need to hand the cash over to Star. It’s now a realized loss and no longer a paper loss. That makes a huge difference to it’s working capital management and operational cash flows. If these are not managed well, they might request for another round of funding.

Cloud and AI are the future. And these 2 services are deeply embedded in the services provided by Krono. However, previously not many investors are aware of this company due to its low profile. Now with Khazanah’s backed investment Phunware hitting 2000% surge, it’ll definitely attract significant interest in Krono, who also happened to be in cloud and AI space. Exciting times ahead.

@jessiecheong Another so called genius making unfounded analysis with wrong facts and shallow thinking. The impact of a 100% acquisition subsidiary is a good and would definitely help increase the revenue and profits as a whole. Nothing is wrong with that as it provides synergistic benefits.
As for the Singapore unit tax exempt, there is no such thing at all as krono is making use of malaysia’s MSc status for tax exempt and it only applies for its Malaysian unit, not Singapore. If u look at the accounts krono still pays tax for the most part as the Msia unit only consist a small amount. Whether there is max status or not would not bring any big difference.
I think there are many forummers here post comments without doing any research and just like to create unnecessary panic.

Really good results, if we exclude the share option grant expenses and deferred tax expense which are both worth RM1.7m and RM800k respectively. The actual operational profit should be RM4.6m which is huge increase compared to previous quarters.

What is there to worry about Pump and Dump? If the company is cheap, you buy. If it is expensive you sell. If you believe future growth is intact you buy. But I'm still hoping for price to fall further during GE so I can collect back at 0.44 levels.
2018-04-05 08:39 | Report Abuse
So meaning even after GE the price will remain low. Well that’s good news, so we can still buy cheap after results of GR

dont blame BN or the management. it's the shareholders' fault for rejecting the IWC takeover, causing fall in share price. the share price will only continue to fall until there is a major psoitive announcement or catalyst.

actually whats wrong with the QR result? the revenue and profit remains good, just that they were hit by deferred tax which is solely an accounting treatment. it will not affect the core business.

What satan118 mentioned is completely ridiculous and false. Please don't listen to what he said as his statement clearly shows his lack of understanding of structured call warrants. Ideally, what an Investment Bank (IB) will do is to ensure holders of warrants changed hands from cheap entry price to higher entry price.
Selling down the shares is not the objective but to make the shares be as volatile as possible so warrant holders will sell them. All these volatile prices manipulation are only directed to warrant holders with cheap entry price as IB will need to pay the difference of in the money warrants. Hence, when holders sell their warrants at a higher price, the new holder's warrants are no longer in the money, in most cases, and as a result IB will not need to pay anything during expiry.
So there is no absolute truth in saying not to buy warrants because warrants still possess the capability to make strong gains when the mother share rises. The only advice I would give is not to buy warrants that are near expiry. Warrants that still have long expiry like June to October clearly will benefit from HY's long-term benefits.
I've personally made huge gains in structured call warrants from the good long-term prospects of HY. As long there are many months from expiry and you have confident in HY in it's coming Q4 results, you will reap huge benefits from buying warrants.

My take is that Ekovest is currently trading at attractive discounts because funds are not buying. When funds start to buy, and when the price picks up, everyone's negative perception will be shifted to a positive one immediately. In the world of investments, there is no right or wrong, it's just how people perceive, whether it's going up or down. When it is going up, everyone will find/create a reason to support the surge and blindly buy.
Hence, there is no point arguing facts on the potential of Ekovest, when all these information are already public and explained endless times. People will only see the intrinsic value when the price starts to move upwards.
Putting these into perspective, it'll only be wise if you buy now and spectate the wonders later, when funds are running out of investment ideas.

Will this be another Padini? Just look at how the owners keep buying Bonia many months before the results were released all the way until it was released.
They already knew the results were good and will only get better. The price now is almost all time low, hopefully I can still collect more next week.

Agreed with YiStock. I also feel there is going to be a major restructuring soon in the company after being taken over by Actis. Probably there will be merging of Actis' other businesses for synergistic benefits. Perhaps also some reshuffling in top management.
2017-04-15 21:28 | Report Abuse
many stocks crashed, not only GHLSYS due to geopolitical issues in US. Takeover at RM1, please that's not gonna happen. The directors are selling probably they want to cash in after holding their shares for so long. Probably they will collect again when price is right. Or possibly, Actis wants to change the top management to their own team.

Basically another stupid article by an individual with ulterior motives. Look at GHLSYS now and see how much it went up. This article is intended to make people sell their shares at a lower price for them to collect.
This article said Alipay is a threat to GHL? A threat? Look now Alipay is partnering with GHL for payment services. I advise investors to think again before listening to this Adam Khoo. Following his advice will lead to a missed opportunity of GHL limit up today.

Read and analyze the company more by reading the Annual reports and newspapers. Don't just listen to whatever people say. You'll be surprised sometimes even the Heads are misinformed in a terribly. I've learnt that from my experience.
Get your information from multiple sources and prove to us specifically how Alipay's business is in direct competition with GHL and MPay. Rather than just explain things in such a general manner that doesn't really explain anything other than saying Alipay will knock off GHL and MPay.
Also, what is the purpose of this article? What is the education behind this? Are you making a SELL recommendation on GHL and MPay? If yes, please state so (with facts of course), rather than writing something without and basis and no value to our fellow forummers.
2017-03-24 15:14 | Report Abuse
Totally stupid article that have no knowledge whatsoever on the business of GHLSYS and MPAY. I have no idea what is the learning point from this article actually.
Firstly, the business of GHLSYS and MPAY do not in any way conflict with the Alipay. It is just like, does VISA and Mastercard will be affected by the dominance of Alipay? Of course it doesn't, both companies are providing different services in the same ecosystem.
Infact, with Alipay, it'll benefit companies like GHLSYS and MPAY as these 3rd party acquirers will facilitate Alipay services with the banks and merchants. This has already been done in Thailand, where there is a collaboration between Alipay. In which, we will see soon in Malaysia soon. Which is also why GHL's share price has been surging lately.

to be honest, if you say there are many buyers today and yesterday, it also means there are many innocent sellers. those who have sold yesterday and early today would have regretted by now.
i believe the uptrend will continue and the coming quarterly announcement should be very interesting. I'm sure the cost-cutting measures and new expansion plans have bear fruit, known only by the CEO himself, which is why he has been collecting so many shares for the past few months.

hi sarisatriya , can you exactly explain to us which P2P operators are making good money now? The market in Malaysia for P2P is too small for these operators to be profitable. No one is willing to fund these small risky companies via P2P. Furthermore, these are small companies with very little opportunity to make big money out of it. Once they grow bigger they will abandon P2P platform and obtain loans from banks. Our Msian economy is not like China. We, retailers, don't have sufficient liquidity to fund these companies. Agree?

Eric, their profit in the latest quarter is 1mil more than previous quarter excluding gains from sale of PPE. And when you mentioned the shops are empty, its because they have online stores, where people can shop easily. for those stores that have no customer, they will close it down.
Wondering if you're one of those investors who have bought Bonia at high price and now are stucked, feeling trapped, hence holding grudges against this counter.
2017-02-06 18:05 | Report Abuse
Have you guys ever wondered why the directors keep on acquiring the shares of Bonia?
Based on the last quarterly result, after excluding one-off gains from the disposal of PPE, the Group actually recorded improved results of RM5.1m compared to previous quarters.
So question, how can the Group report higher profits when the revenue fell and its not a shopping season? It is because as reported in the news, if anyone is aware, the Group has begun cost cutting measures by closing down non-profitable stores.
That being said, the Group is also working on improving its revenues by aggressively promoting its core brands, Sembonia, Carlo Rino, Bonia, etc.
Therefore, I definitely see a hope in Bonia to stage a comeback. Unlike Padini who sources its products from OEM, Bonia designs and manufactures its very own brand. This is a very strong point in fashion lndustry as Bonia is able to quickly adapt and change its designs according to fashion, while Padini is heavily reliant on its OEMs.
Will there be a surprise jump in profits the coming quarter? I definitely feel so as the Nov to Dec period is shopping season with year end sales and Xmas sales.
I personally believe the owners of Bonia have a very strong reason to accumulate so much of its own shares over the period. Positive results of cost-cutting measures have been observed in the last quarter as I have explained above and this will continue. Plans to expand and grow in Vietnam and Indonesia is also on the way as these countries have much higher population compared to Msia, especially Indonesia. It is a market that Bonia is aware it cannot ignore.
With the current price, many investors are not keen to buy as common investors are always late to spot the opportunities until the price have moved up.With the price now at all time low coupled with the assurance that the directors acquiring the shares, I believe these factors offer great reasons to buy into Bonia now.
Stock: [JAKS]: JAKS RESOURCES BERHAD
2019-05-04 21:57 | Report Abuse
@moreliver, * STAR MEDIA SEEKS 134.5 MILLION RGT RELATED TO PURCHASE & LATE PAYMENT INTEREST OF 43.2 MILLION RGT AS DAMAGES - this clause only kicks in provided the project is not completed by 31 Oct 2019. Read the announcement carefully.
I wonder why there are so many people who do not own JAKS come to this thread and make so many negative comments about it. Common sense tells that if you do not own shares of that company, u wouldn't even waste time and bother commenting on the thread.
Then it struck me that actually it is a blessing in disguise because these negative commentators have a hidden motive which is to collect JAKS at a lower price since they missed the ship long time ago at 0.50cents. That means all these people want to buy JAKS and see great potential in it, just that they are not willing to pay a premium now, lol. How sad and pathetic.
I guess it is logical to say, the more negative commentators I see, the more I'm confident of this company. Even the directors consistently buy back shares, instilling a show of confidence.
