The CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce told CNBC on Tuesday that President Donald Trump delayed tariffs in part to avoid a recession during the upcoming 2020 presidential election.
"Nobody wants to run for president, on either party, in the middle of a recession," Tom Donohue said on "Closing Bell."
Earlier Tuesday, the U.S. Trade Representative announced that new tariffs, originally scheduled to go into effect Sept. 1, would be delayed until Dec. 15 for some consumer items. In addition, some products are being removed from the new tariff list altogether due to "health and security factors."
Trump told reporters that his decision to delay the tariffs was to avoid impact on Christmas shopping. The delay applies to electronics, video game consoles, certain clothing goods, shoes and toys.
In response to a question about how much this postponement is about a possible trade deal between U.S. and China rather than giving American businesses time to adjust, Donohue said this adjustment is "common to the way we've seen the administration work."
The administration tends to "set up a difficult objective, [then] make adjustments going on further based on the way people operate and react and more importantly, [see] how the markets and the political process work."
"I think taking these steps [keeps a recession] from happening," he said.
Markets rallied on the announcement on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped as much as 529 points, or 1.44%. The S

- Shareholders will be looking for somebody to blame, spurring lawsuits and board activism.
- Employee activism at places like Google will dry up and recruiting engineers will get a lot easier.
- Visible inequality will get worse. Billionaires will be the enemy. Tech in particular.
Recessions test the mettle of investors and separate the strong companies from the weak. But those who make it through to the other side face less competition, paving the way for massive upside during the next boom. Let's not forget, Amazon Web Services was still a new project when the last recession started in late 2007. Thanks to Amazon's hefty investments at the time, it turned into one of the most successful businesses of the following decade.

- Owners will be looking to restructure and engage in creative business recombinations. Mergers, spinoffs, buyouts, you name it — assuming financing is available.
- Execs who have been delivering borderline performance will be fired, while those with a track record of success will find excuses to leave before things spin out of control. Big names could drop fast, especially after a disastrous quarter or two.
- Big companies will abandon speculative or underperforming business units. On the plus side, this will leave new room for start-ups to find disruptive business models that the giants are suddenly too scared to touch.
- Advertising spend usually maps to total economic growth, meaning that companies who are mostly dependent on ads for revenue will struggle as businesses tighten their ad budgets. Some traditional media companies, already hurt by years of shifting ad revenues to tech giants like Google and Facebook, won't make it out the other side. The smaller social networks like Twitter, Snap and Pinterest could also see tougher going.

But as anybody who lived through the dot-com bust or Great Recession can tell you, a lot of things will change in a downturn. Depending on how deep and how long any recession lasts, look out for the following:
-Companies with weak balance sheets will run out of money when cash flow reverses and they cannot find outside financing. Some seemingly big names will disappear almost overnight, or become a lot less prominent and sell for tiny fractions of their current valuations. Many of the companies about which you wonder "how do they stay in business?" won't.

Companies like Twitter and Uber grew from start-up through IPO, collectively achieving well over $100 billion in new market value. Venture money keeps flowing into start-ups, to the point where $100 million fundraising rounds seem unremarkable.
It's gotten to the point where the power and dominance of these companies seem inevitable, and the wisdom of their executives and investors unquestionable.

Here's what will happen to the tech industry in a recession
A lot of signs are pointing toward the U.S. economy slipping into a recession in the next year — Treasury yields are sloping downward, freight shipments are dropping and company executives are collectively getting nervous.
The decade-long expansion has been very good to the tech industry.
Tech giants with strong balance sheets have seen their stock prices soar: Since the last recession ended in July 2009, Apple is up almost 900%, Amazon more than 2,000%, and Microsoft — once seen as hopelessly out of touch — is up more than 400%. Smaller companies with lower profits but enviable revenue growth have also done well, like Salesforce (up more than 1,400%) and Netflix (more than 5,000%).

There so many times the price plunged because of trade and tech war news. That time people shout to run. Later when the issues were sort out (even temporary), the market then push the price up again because of confidence that the risk has been reduced. We are here to beat the market, that is why we invest here. If u guys want low risk, go to fd or asb. Investing needs a critical thinking. That is why if u follow the mass, u might be the last one to buy. I am not going to tell people to buy or to sell, everybody entitle to their own opinion. U need to make your own choice. This forum should be a place for a good discussion, not a place to throw out unnecessary things.

When i bough at 0.5, many say the same as gooshen. If u guys dont believe, scroll back to that date some few years back then. Now see who’s laughing all the way to the bank. In my pov, fronkn has been sitting on cash. Strong earnings every second half of the year. The first two qr always low because of the tech cycle as mentioned in qr1. Though frontkn is related with tech company like huawei, the qr were’nt affected imminently since there must be lagged behind with the huawei production (as an example). This is due to the precision cleaning provided by frontkn isnt contribute to the current earnings.

@fukalex..u can hear their opinion. But do your own research too. Your investment is your own responsibilities. U need to evaluate on your own self. Dont just sell when people shout run. Dont just buy when people say it is good time to buy. They are neither wrong or right. I am collecting and distributing this stock since the price was around 35 cents. I was once very noob, followed blindly when people told to sell or buy. At the end of the day, u are at your own.

Exactly newbie8080. Just collect more the price is undervalued. Or maybe when rsi is oversold. Its normal that market has its own emotion, like the knee jerk decision. Its just because the fear looming around the tech war, but once market realize it doesnt impact significantly, price will start to rise again. Why not collect when low? Why want to buy when high? Frontkn has broght prospect, when its low it means discount. Unless fronken is on the verge of bankruptcy or something really bad happens to them internally. My opinion so far it was just the market uncertainties and this definitely means temporary

Taipei: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) - the world's largest contract chipset maker - has officially announced the beginning of mass production of its second-generation 7nm process for Kirin 985 and or A13 chipsets.
The top-notch Kirin 985 chipset would likely feature in Huawei's flagship Mate 30, while A13 would come with Apple's 2019 iPhones.
"This is the first time the Taiwanese company is implementing EUV lithography, taking a step towards becoming the main competitor of Intel and Samsung," the GSMArena reported on Monday.
The announcement comes days after TSMC said it would continue delivering critical semiconductors to Huawei Technologies even as chip designer ARM has cut ties with the tech giant.
Other firms that will continue shipping products that do not violate US restrictions to Huawei, include Panasonic and Chinese computer maker Lenovo Group.
On May 15, US President Donald Trump effectively banned Huawei with a national security order.
The US publicly asked its allies to steer clear of using Huawei products over concerns that the equipment could be used by the Chinese government to obtain private information

What makes me interested in fronken other than their business performance? Because i want to make profit of my own. Simply said i am not going to comment in a forum that dont make me profit, or if i think that it didnt worth it. I just leave.
Here is the question. What makes ‘them’ interested in frontken when from what their point of view, the price will plunge, and keep scaring people? There must be profit in anyway. Maybe they are short trader. Or they miss the flight earlier and hope to buy cheaper. Or else, they just love wasting their time throwing numbers here and there

@shpg22 ? Frontkn fundamental is good. Top management so far. Growing their earnings every quarter. In the near future, maybe we will some correction. Correction doesnt mean crash. Correction means price retracing within 0-10% as market try to justify the overbought price. Sudden crash if there are bad news either for the stock or the sector. Retracement/correction is a healthy sign

I see very strong support in terms of investors interest. If the price drop, it can drop much but with very little volume. But when the price gain, it gain with large volume.
