Saying so, I dont know whether you are reading this, the AirAsia crash is creating a bad media and publicity in Australia. The media coverage really made AirAsia including AAX look bad till today, Especially latest media reported Australians has been flying unsafe on AirAsia for the past 1 year without stringent check and regulations.

@radzi... point taken and noted. In 2014-2015 when the entire thing dive, my view was the revenue and passenger load was not great enough to convince investors in the long run. In 2015, there was -15% drop in overall passenger load. I must say I didn't get into their financial results in detail, the summary itself.. yes you are right they had massive losses from the exchange rate but their business are generating at full capacity as they should. Investors were put off by it. I give you an example with Delta Airlines and Southwest, during the US economy downturn, why investors didnt leave, they had loans from other countries as well in terms of Airbus purchase and etc. Today the shares value nearly triple it value today. I nearly shot myself for not seeing this either as some of my friends bought delta airlines back then.

@mrpouper... Well both may impact abit but wont change the outcome much. Foreign investors has already pull out way back. You have 82% passenger load coupled with low oil price. I will be worried if the revenue is down. Its like im buyin a german car.. I lose abit in interest rate. I can still finance it as long as i hav a good in flow of income. Like i mention earlier if currency is the sole indicator for aax, it would have gone bust with q1 results. I think is important we look beyond and assess their business strategy whether they can ride thru the external factors.

I doubt it there will be a panic selling. 1mdb has already defaulted the first one and everyone assume the second will be defaulted as well. Second coupon for tomorrow is partially backsd by Ipic. So i personally think it will be a minimal effect on aax.

Im with radzi on this as well. Q1 results will dictate the next for most of us. Like mrpauper, i will cash in this round. After that back to drawing board, assess their results and business plans to see whether is a viable business entitiy for q2. Eyes and ears will be on deck to seee the passenger load. AAX team did a great jon turning things around. The routes and expansion have great potentials, we need to see how the world economy reacts to travel load and tourism in their flight routes.

With current surge today.. Im guessing should be quite pretty for the big sharks insider info to show their presence today.

Transmile... Out of curiosity, based on what data correlation made you derived with such conclusion. Like i mentioned earlier, passenger load based on airport ground staff is about 80-85%. In addition, airasia covers china, india etc...

@kueh.. excellent! well im quite a newbie as well. do abit of reasearch and see what potential AAX has to offer based on your own assessment. Your money and your call at the end of the day. My personal opinion is 0.5-0.7 range for the next 3-4 months. Saying so, watch out for Q1 result and analyze it. Things may change.. stock market is a very dynamic place. If you are in for long term basis, you wont lost much in stocks but if you are playing short term and contra. scary abit. I lost quite abit in the past as well.

On positive note, i was informed by airport personnel - on most AAX flights. avg is 70-80% passenger load.. in terms of income, i can't calculate as AAX ticketing and pricing varies among the passenger.

Dont get me wrong, I wish everything for AAX to fly as well. But at times there are external factors is beyond our control. The only hope now is AAX passenger load is good with increase in tourism trend in all their destinations.

@radzi - 1MDB is not the main reason why our currency drop. Its multi-factorial - of course, if AAX sole factor for positive earnings is the exchange rate, then we all are screwed till the next quarter and pending US fed hikes coupled with worldwide economy sentiments.
