If JAKS does live up to the number, the next one that will attract subscribers will be DK66.
Nevertheless, one thing people should learn really is the lesson from crypto. DYOR - Do Your Own Research. People say buy you buy, its your money, your call. Don't blame people later as liar whatever thing if it doesnt go well.
Take ownership of your investment decision

So it looks like OTB and KYY are bff again. There are no permanent friends or enemies in politics and in business I guess.
I thought when things are not so well, KYY describes OTB as remisier rather than fund manager as KYY thinks of himself as the super fund manager.
Well, OTB analysis used to be famous for being FA based. But these days both are more famous for TA. Or rather, not much different from everyone else shouting gloves day in day out.

Bro Windy1974 - wishing you all the best to build the base for your move. For one I am firmly in the "Anyone But Andy" camp here and you for sure can get those meager voting rights I have if it comes to that. The current management handled communications really badly, all decisions are not rationalised to the shareholder, information kept in a black box and dilutionary corporate exercise hold at the worst timing in the market.

look at the -WA pricing. the exercise price is 0.2 at 1:1 ratio. reality is WA trails by 0.34, almost 2x the exercise price. so people are not confident that the price is sustainable? historically it trails by 0.3, today a lot worse

The more important point is Andy Ang name is not showing up at the selling list. So no worries.
Companies will relocate out of China. Vietnam is no 1 in the queue and already needing every MW it can produce, be it dirty or green. Even less worries.
This counter is underwritten by the quite substantial but laser-focused liquidity of OTB+ cartel. A bit like OPEC but with more market moving/ holding power compared to the useless OPEC recently. Totally no worries.

Why not JAKS?
1. Its been shown that countries that have the strictest control during pandemic will recovers faster.
2. Vietnam is no 1 in SEA in strictness.
3. Power demand in VN was crazy before outbreak. This will be worse after recovery, as companies taking opportunity to reshore manufacturing out of China.
4. Stock underwritten by Church of OTB. Until he sells, followers will top up on every down turn.

UMA is deserved, although I'm hodling still. The price movement contradicts common knowledge, so it could well be because insiders started the movement when they got a big orders. Basically a few semiconductor equipment makers have been receiving a lot of orders the last two months. Will not be surprised same thing happened inside, but of course later will come out letter saying nothing that they know of, as getting a big order is really business as usual, not like someone want to takeover. Good time to top up

chanky50 At 5 sens, Fintec capitalization is only Rm37.39 million.
=====================================
Dont forget there's also 900M PA shares, thats convertible at minimal cost to 450M mother share, at 5 c thats RM22.5 million "stealth" market map
Granted, some of these already converted, so not quite RM60M cap at 5 cents, but more like RM55M.
And not even counting potential dilution from the warrants. 130M Warrant A at 0.3 and 90M Warrant B at 0.15 exercise price
At the current level, its not likely to be dilutionary since doesnt make sense to convert but at your valuation it will be.
So a lot of recalculations there, if you want to use fully diluted earnings for your valuation.

no, no matter what rubbish company share if you sell you lock the profit and it appears in cash flow. just making the distinction between the booked profit/loss versus actual one, because just like our own portfolio, unrealized profit is just that.. look at it is shuang, but if it is not realized it can just disappear if US starts to nuke Iran, for example. focus can goreng high high but until fintec sell the stakes its just unrealized profit and they still need money to fund ongoing operations

investing in this company is like a proxy of taking position in a few small caps. don't buy the technology incubator shite - i see them taking position in companies like Seacara is not incubator / startup play. will the price go up? yes. when the market generally recovers. but KLCI is the sick man of asia at the moment, lagging almost every major market in asia

This company is not a Fintech company, despite the name. It was not a Biotech company when it was AsiaBio. It just names itself after whatever is "hot" at the moment. Maybe it will soon call itself BossKu Global.
Keypoint is that their P&L is like fantasy football. Maybe having a few more real business will at least bring some reality to it.

This counter is relentless in shaking out contra traders. Which is good, else move up too fast and burn out too fast, and all fundamentals got forgotten.
To me the investment thesis the same - the owner won't go through the pain of RTO listing and holding on such a stake without eventually getting a good goreng out of it. With the stake he has, it will be at his timeline, can't be wished on by people wanting quick profit.
Take the opportunity to collect. Even the boss collected some at 0.33 so now it is still a good opportunity

100 mil queue is too good to be true. It is almost surely spoofing. Securities Commission, if doing their job, should ask someone to go upstairs yam cha (if they are as proactive as one of the small broker's chief strategist claims they to be) but I guess they will just pretend they never see it.

The MGO is priced at steep discount (>30%), this is because they have to make the offer by law, but they don't want people to accept it and therefore triggers full takeover and taking IJ private. So give a lousy offer that no one wants.
This is because maintaining a listed status is one of the objective of this corporate exercise.

Cannot... Industry insider.. plenty of conflict of interest. Actually there are a few companies that could benefit with a cell factory in Malaysia (for European volume, now we are taxed for US as well). There is no need to go it alone.
The MD actually is doing a pretty good job keeping cost down - previous benchmark their labour costs are very low - that is why I believe they could be a good fit even for mainland Chinese firms. The only problem for us trying to valuate them externally is that the clause for compensation in their contract with SolarTech and if it forbids them from partnering with other players (the Management should really go renegotiate that)
Based on the last few media updates breakdown on overall revenue and shipment numbers they were competitive, but they stopped talking and the market have become very different over the last 1-2 years. We really need some good answers from their management; and good questions to get them to buck up and deliver.

This counter did have great potential, but probably the wrong strategy and the wrong partner. At least they should still get some money from their partner if they choose not to load. But that's not a long term strategy (if it could be called a strategy)
The best exit plan will be to look for another strategic partner. There are very limited global company wiling to continue invest in Malaysia (even less who want to invest in a 3rd party manufacturing partner). But there is still, and surprisingly for highly integrated companies, solar manufacturing in Malaysia is still competitive vs their China operations.
Hint: Look for partner who can use the 210 MW as installed, and jointly invest to build it up to 560MW+. The carrot is they lower the partner's CAPEX, and TS finds a buyer for its cells. Module capacity are way cheaper and easier to build so let someone handle that.
2018-03-06 18:55 | Report Abuse
Actually the problem is we can't even look at SolarTech (Taiwan) results as reference anymore as they are loading minimally to Tek Seng fab, and rather pay the compensation for not loading.
Options for Solar Segment is not pretty after SolarTech merged.
TS can build module lines (more capex) and try to sell the modules themselves. They have no offices and distribution channels inside and outside Malaysia (it was all down by SolarTech). They will invest and not get anything going for years and years.
Or they can look for buyers of solar cells - but most players are integrated with both solar cell and module factory together and don't need their products.
Their non-PERC cells is no longer competitive and they cannot invest on upgrades alone without partner as their partner is no longer interested and other potential partners from Taiwan have all merged with each other.
They have a huge building for at least 8 lines. They put in 4 lines and have to sell one back. 3 lines, not loaded much, paying for the whole building's depreciation.
Only nice thing about TS is 0 debt. Flip side of it is its not going to do any expansion to save them from this tough situation.
Another problem with Malaysian stocks is no obligation to inform shareholders on a quarterly basis. That's why I encourage anyone who can go to their AGM to ask some really tough questions.

The taiko is the market maker who is controlling the price - there is a reason why its not exploding.
Look at 0150PA volume. 48M traded at 0.07. 90% of it, about 43M, were buy volumes. At 0.075 there are only about 7.4M asks.
Now, lets say you want to sell 20M, or 30M, or 40M, will you want to sell at 0.07 or just park it at 0.075 and let the demand to slowly buy it at 14% higher price?
But what happened were ask at 0.07 keep getting replenished, at 500k at a time (this is not retail, this is a "Whale", so to speak). What is interesting is that, there is a buyer as well buying at 500k at a time. Or continously in smaller amount. Whenever the ask at 0.07 is almost finished, it gets topped up at 500k at a time.
