What are the equivalent business of BJToto in developed countries, e.g. Singapore,Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, US etc? How are these business doing? That would probably give you an indication of the future of BJToto.

BJToto has also been dead quiet for a long time. No announcement of their corporate plan, review of prospects etc. With its share price falling and on down trend for so long, it is really a turn off to retail investors.

At 3.04, the dividend yield is 6%. So it's still better to hold the shares at this price than putting it into an FD account. Looks like anything lower is worth accumulating.

This company is grossly undervalued:
1. This is a debt free company.
2. Cash per share is 8.5 sen per share (based on 31/12/2015 Quarterly Report) vs current share price of 14.5 sen (25/4/2016).
3. NTA is 21 sen. If you look at its investment property recorded at RM4.615m (as at 31/12/2015), it has a fair value of RM31.952m (refer to 2015 Annual Report). There is unrealized value of RM27.337m = another 6 sen not reflected in its share price
4. Share price should be worth at least 27 sen and this is without any premium to is revalued price.
5. It has a good product range, brands like Makita are household names in industrial tools for the construction/renovation industry.
6. The drawback is management of this company is too conservative. With the cash pile it is sitting on, it should diversify its business to spread its risk rather than earning a meagre 2 - 3% interest income from fixed deposit.
Still, the current share price doesn't do justice to the company.

Damansara Perdana is a good place. Development projects there will get good response and command a premium. This developer is sitting on a 'gold mine' as far as property development is concerned. There is a glut in property now due to the down turn, but the boom cycle will come back.

It is loss from previous year for IAA, required to be recognised by account practice as a result of subscription of perpetual bond to turn IAA equity into positive
Answer : So basically, this quarter major loss is due to accounting treatment!
Yes, this quarter's loss is mainly paper loss. Operationally, AAB performed better, all subsidiaries included.

Actually, IAA losses for current quarter is not so much. It's the prior year losses that was not accounted previously accounted in the current quarter that causes the losses to be so big. Comprehensive loss, including hedging loss is RM0.97b!!!! That's why NTA per share dropped by thirty over sen.

When a company proposes to buy back its own shares, it means the company believes that its share price is undervalued.
AA proposed to buy back 10% of its shares. Based on today's closing share price (RM1.37), the market cap is RM3.813b. So if AA were to buy back its shares at today's market price, it will cost them RM381.3m. Do they have enough money to buy back all of its 10% share cap as proposed? Based on the last quarter result, it seems they have more than enough cash in the bank to buy back 10% (provided they have no other capital commitments).
AA can 1) sell back the shares to market at a higher price to make profit; 2) cancel the shares it purchased, this will prop up the share price; 3) distribute the shares as dividends; or a combination of any of the 3 options. Either way, this is good for shareholders.
Usually after such announcement, share price would normally go up. But this is not happening with AA share price? What could be the reason?

I think FirdausAhmad has a very sound analysis. Wellington has sold its shares in the open market from 20% (in July/Aug) to 9% stake now. AA has been able to absorb the selling pressure very well. I have offloaded 50% to take some profit. It looks like time to go in again. Be prepared for the take off....

If Richard Branson is buying over TF and KM's stake, AA will fly to the moon...
2015-11-01 22:14 | Report Abuse
Selling enblock may also not be an advisable thing. TF and KM is synonymous with AA. Without them AA would not be the same. He is very closed to the staff. AA price may dive if TF and KM is kicked out of AA. Banks would have to weigh this if they want to sell enblock. Story would be different however if the buyer is Richard Branson....

Bankers are good friends of TF and KM. As long as TF and KM keep it from turning NPL, they will definitely give their support.
TF and KM will have to pray that the Ringgit do not fall further and ensure that AA price do not drop further, if not this will make the Banks nervous. You never know what a nervous banker will do.
If the money from USD200m loan all went down the drain, TF and KM will have to sell their other assets to pay back the loan. Tune Hotels, Tune Money etc? IPO of AA Indonesia and Thailand outfit will also be on the cards...
They must also keep AA very profitable so that Banks do not sell out.
A strong Ringgit will help TF and KM; they don't have to support AA price so much.
There is still a lot of room for TF and KM to manuovre.
2015-10-30 23:53 | Report Abuse
Both TF and KM are unable to do privatization, as r Moi pointed out there shareholdings are only 19.09%
They need 33% minimum to be able to trigger an MGO.
To do this they need their major shareholders agreeing to this, i.e. Wellington and EPF
The thing is under such situation (impending privatization), the share price should go up. (at least close to their real value)
The people who are taking them private will be laughing if the share price goes further south, because they get it dirt cheap.
If share price continues to go down and there is a privatization going on, something fishy will most likely be going on.
2015-10-30 23:35 | Report Abuse
This is bad news indeed for TF and KM.
The USD200m they owe to Credit Suisse and CIMB @ 4.3 is worth about RM860m
Their current shareholdings at 19.09% is worth about RM791.5m (RM1.48 per share)
Banks will stand to lose RM70m if they force sell @ RM1.48 per share.
To get back their money, Banks need to sell at RM1.61 per share minimum
The consolation is that AA is worth more than that.
Hopefully both TF and KM do not have a lot of enemies, if there is/are party(s) keep pressing the share price down for a few more months, both of TF and KM will 'die'.
They are so vulnerable now.

So much of good news from AA but price still sliding down. The Ringgit weakness is bad for AA. The oil price weakness is good for AA. If both Ringgit and oil price move in tandem, the overall effect for AA should be still good because the total fuel expense at AA should be more than the interest expense, i.e. AA should still be better off on overall terms. Right?

Ringgit is oversold. Air Asia is under valued. There is a double gain potential for foreign investors. They should come in to take positions now. In 3 months, they could cash out for a handsome profit. Air Asia has been holding out quite well so far. Its time to accumulate when price falls below RM1.50.

Today's increase is exceptional. It cannot be due to the dividend as it would have been priced in on the following day of the announcement. Furthermore the dividend (cash + shares) is 5 sen only. The spike today is way more than the dividend. Could it be due to something else?

It's part of investment by these fund managers I guess. EPF have definitely went in a much lower price. Below RM1 mostly. They are making handsome realized profit by disposing at these price. What they sold off is very small fraction of their holdings. Good profit to declare dividend to members.
