choysun, i am already holding close to 300k worth in value on both Genm and Genting shares, i am treating this as long term investment. Fluctuation in price in the meantime will not deter me from buying more if the opportunity arises.

This impairment loss is an "one-off" thingy, since it has already been calculated in this qtr, you won't see it in the next qtr. (1st qtr impairment loss was 346mil since Genting M has not sold those properties overseas it is not considered real loss) No one can say it for sure how Genting M will perform in this second qtr, but one thing for sure, losses is likely to be much lower without the recurrence of impairment loss.
