I am JR - Not John Rambo (the one-man army) but JunioR. In all senses of the word junior or small.

Probability, I repeat. Two thousand shares only. My cost was 2,000 shares @ 1.29 = RM2,580.00 (excluding brokerage, stamp duty and clearing charges).

DreamDominator, my knowledge on lumber industry is meagre.
I think Ta Ann Bhd is in upper stream than FL Bhd.
But it really does not matter. Whether up stream or down stream, a company's wealth does not necessarily in strict hierarchical order.

Again, I am in concord with RoseTan on her assertion that 'the best has yet to come' for Focus Lumber Bhd.
I bought 2 thousand shares on 03Mar2015 @ 1.29 and sold same @ 1.66 on 23Jul2015 based solely on TA (and ignoring FA in toto). I reaped very handsome profit then. I did not buy back on 19Aug2015 even though the charts vividly displayed a golden opportunity of 'buy', based on multiple-bottom formation.
RoseTan, you are always a few classes above me in stock-selection.
Hats off to you Rose.

Purely on TA : All transacted prices were done below the 8-day simple average low plus both the MACD (pronounced as mac D) and Signal line were turning down indicating short-term bearishness.
I BEAR no responsibilities for my words.
I am just BULL shit.

tksw, the following comments had nothing to do with Focus Lumber Bhd.
in actuality, there are only a few sifu but myriads of newbies in share market (including me). Likewise, there are more losers than winners. You ought to avoid news, rumours or hearsays before your risk your capital in any stocks and do not let your common stocks become 'in comma' stocks.
You would wonder when you compare United Plantation with Felda Global Venture; Petron Msia Vs Shell Refining and many others...
One of the funny things about the stock market is that every time one person buys, another will sell (an imaginary one to one case) and both think that his acuteness is more superior than his counterpart.
The trading of shares in our market is just like buying or selling of any products, merchandise or commodities.
‘Caveat emptor’ – Latin words which means ‘let the buyer beware’
‘Caveat venditor’ – again Latin which means ‘the seller should beware’
Mr Market would always say – of course, everybody should be cautious since there always exist situations of information asymmetry but never be there a cast-iron guarantee of satisfaction.
Always be cautious and good luck to you.

Please excuse me for being ignorant. To me it remains unexplained.
What were or would had been the accounting entries for this 'other investments' - the conventional accounting entries. Debit ??? and Credited 'Bank' - as reflected in the 'Cash Flow Statement'.
Besides what would be the 'return on other investment' and bearing in mind that the Group had a huge 'loans and borrowings' of sum RM118 million (as at 31 Oct 2015), I am also curious to know what was the corresponding debit accounting entry or entries for these 'other investments' and how would it be shown in the 'Balance Sheet'?

During Q1, the Group or the Company had spent the sum of RM20.91 million on 'Other Investments'
My questions : What is 'other investments' and how is that being shown in the balance sheet?

That is because our equity market is sentiment and fund driven but NOT fundamental driven. The word FUNDAMENTAL being split into two: viz FUND and SENTIMENTAL.

Plus, many of their properties haven't been revalued yet (historical book-value). The real worth is beyond anyone's imagination. - perhaps, another example of NTA doesn't really reflect a company current status.
I am not an accountant. Figures and charts are not my natural inclination. I can't even solve a simple sudoku puzzle. What would be the impact of inflation on a company's prospect is my (another) area of mind-boggling.

Knowing that our bourses is fund-driven, I do believe in the situation of ‘overbought’ where margin financing is available quite at ease and T+>3 day trade settlements by some stock-brokers could easily be arranged. But I do not believe in ‘oversold’

LATITUD - cheapest furniture share that benefit from the appreciation of USD (PE:8.26 only)

In respond to the above and if you do not like my view-point, just ignore me and treat me as a psycho who talks to himself while walking along Penang Road under the scorching sun. As a coward, I dare not pen my words in the blog scaring that Latitude chauvinists might begin to stone me. And as a beggar here, please do not spit at me because your saliva is enough to drown me.
FA : When talking about PE and NTA, investors would, almost spontaneously, draw out their calculators from the drawers and start poking the buttons ….
I believe (but not in toto) in FA but not PE and NTA. “Oh, all my stocks are having ratios of less than 11 and I am going to keep the shares for very long term” …But, during the Dec 2014 and the recent Aug 2015 market crashes or major corrections, they were the ones who dumped and fled at Olympic speed.
As for NTA, do not forget that accounting books are prepared under the historical cost convention. Of course there may be some variations thereto, for example a revaluation of certain properties. But, to me, NTA is just for reference only when the company’s financial status is in hardship. For Genting Bhd, would an investor be really concern about her NTA. Would there be another Genting even if any other entrepreneurs have that sum of NTA to venture to?

A point to note. TA skills ignore FA changes. In other words, a technical analyst normally assumes that the fundamentals of the business entity would remain constant (no corporate exercise) at least in the very short term.
