FGV is still a good dividend stock having just declared 4sen last week. That's why KPF, Tabung Haji, EPF, KWAP still own a lot.

400523 then no chance for FGV to go back to IPO or higher price. The cash in FGV is like us having cash. Is it better to buy shares(for us) or keep in bank(for safety purpose)? In FGV case is buy more plantation land just like us buy more shares for future gain than keep in bank for safety purpose. Only question mark is can FGV reduce purchase price for Eagle High? If majority shareholders(KPF, LTH, KWAP, EPF) don't agree how the deal can go through?

If FGV not worth Rajawali won't seek share swap deal. Better cash deal for him. If share swap deal meaning he see FGV can go up.

Kian you said you lose RM50K on FGV. So you also cut loss or your loss is substantiate? As I mention earlier Eagle High purchase still can be cancelled if many shareholders disagree.

Stay invested say Emir.
Mohd Emir said : “We will talk to them, and not just EPF. We are going to communicate with all our major shareholders on what is the way forward for the company on a one-to-one basis. The reasons to stay invested are simple: number one is that our strategic and transformation plan will begin to bear fruit
"Number two is the bump in earnings that the company will derive in the next couple of years. We have the projections and figures and we will share them with shareholders soon,” he said.

Felda Global to address shareholders on 'strategic and transformation plan' - CEO
By Chong Jin Hun / theedgemarkets.com | June 20, 2015 : 10:24 AM MYT
KUALA LUMPUR (June 20): Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) ( Financial Dashboard) will actively reach out to shareholders to soothe concerns on the plantation group's business dynamics, The Edge Malaysia business and investment weekly (Edge Weekly) reported in its latest June 22-28 issue.
Edge Weekly quoted FGV (fundamental: 1.15; valuation: 1.4) CEO Datuk Mohd Emir Mavani Abdullah as saying the company had noted concerns brought up by shareholders like the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) on FGV's inclination to overpay for its assets.
The EPF is against FGV's planned acqusition of a 37% stake in Indonesia’s PT Eagle High Plantations Tbk from the Rajawali Group besides the purchase of Rajawali’s sugar project for RM2.8 billion.
Mohd Emir said : “We will talk to them, and not just EPF. We are going to communicate with all our major shareholders on what is the way forward for the company on a one-to-one basis. The reasons to
stay invested are simple: number one is that our strategic and transformation plan will begin to
bear fruit
"Number two is the bump in earnings that the company will derive in the next couple of years. We have the projections and figures and we will share them with shareholders soon,” he said.
It is interesting to note that the EPF had ceased to become a major shareholder in FGV last Monday (June 15).
In a statement to the exchange, FGV said the EPF had sold 8.2 million shares in the company on that day. FGV's annual general meeting was held the following day.
Yesterday (June 19), Felda Global shares rose seven sen or 4% to close at RM1.75 for a market capitalisation of RM6.38 billion.
The stock had fallen 20% this year compared to the FBM KLCI's 2% decline. For a better understanding on Felda Global, kindly pick up and read the latest issue of Edge Weekly.

MAS crashed because their employees was highly paid whereas do Felda workers enjoy the same priviledge? FGV expansion to Indonesia is in part to reduce cost which is escalating in Msia due to minimum wage policy.

If FGV management is smart they should sell some land for profit especially land that has appreciate in value eg in Johor, etc.

riskabsorber although Golden Land purchase is smaller sum but in term of enterprise value of the planted hectare to be paid is higher than Eagle High(US$17,400).

The deposit paid can be refunded.
Should the Eagle High deal fail to take off, Emir confirmed that FGV would be able to walk away w/o any penalty and all deposits will be returned-Star 17th June.

One more question. Do people really invest base on profit as someone said. Why China stocks are ignored?

However FGV(and likewise KFima) business is not dependant on one customer as suggested in the article. Its fortune is dependant on CPO price and oil palm output(which can be affected by flood). In FGV case it is further complicated by LLA(agreement) which cause wild swing in profit.
For instance, suppose that XYZ stock had very strong revenue in the last year, causing its share price to shoot up from $25 to $80. Unfortunately, one of the company's major customers, who contributed to 50% of XYZ's revenue, had decided not to renew its purchasing agreement with XYZ. This change of events causes a drop in XYZ's share price from $80 to $40.

Actually I am more worried on Golden Land purchase(RM 655 million) than Eagle High which can still be cancelled(100% refund).

Pakcik Saham your meaning if FGV fail to buy Eagle High they can buy Golden Agri? Cash is king like FGV. A far cry from 1mdb which is debt king.
2015-06-17 20:56 | Report Abuse
No chance for KFima to reach RM 2.50? At least FGV has gone up to RM 4 last year or even RM 5 2 years ago. Buying FGV now(RM 1.68) can make 138% gain if climb to RM 4 or 198% gain if reach RM 5.
2015-06-17 17:52 | Report Abuse
The only consolation is 4sen dividend next week to reduce our loss. Hopefully CPO price can strengthen in coming months so FGV can enjoy high profit as in the past years. Iqbal why no one ask will KWAP, EPF ever buy back all the FGV shares they have sold that caused share price sharp fall?
2015-06-13 16:16 | Report Abuse
If CPO manage to return to their record high RM4,000/tonne or even RM5,000/tonne next few years FGV TP until 2020 could be RM 8-10 or more than 4 or 5X current price with their latest acquisitions

Buy plantation asset if for future gain just like some of us invest in property. Since FGV is plantation stock their investment is buying plantation assets.

A smart investor will choose a cheaper stock to buy which is FGV. FGV is among world biggest plantation companies yet trade at cheaper price than Kulim, IOI, Sime Darby and KLK.
