BHARO RESOURCES (BAHVEST, 0098, GEM) announced on Wednesday that several shareholders sent a letter requesting an extraordinary general meeting to remove the current managing director Datuk Law Wai Meng, directors Datuk Seri Mohd Kamal and Rod Young, and proposed the appointment of three new representatives.

The stock has since risen in price. Borneo Resources ended last week's trading last week at 40 sen on Friday, while the company's single Borneo Resources WA closed at 7.5 sen.

Borneo Resources' main business is mining and mining gold, silver and other metals in the 317.7 hectares of mining area in Tawau, Sabah. In the first three quarters of the 2023 financial year ending at the end of December 2022, Borneo Resources' turnover increased by 11% year-on-year to RM108.34 million.

However, the company only achieved a net profit of RM600,000 in the first three quarters, down 84% year-on-year. The net loss for the third quarter reached RM5.11 million.

Borneo Resources said in the results report that the third quarter was affected by the rainy season and production and higher costs resulting in losses. However, the company will continue to improve and strengthen gold production to boost performance.

Borneo Resources WA is still more than 1 year away from expiring, and its premium is not low at 26%. From a theoretical point of view, the ticket is not expensive because the historical volatility of the parent stock (49.9%) and the extended volatility of the ticket (47.6%) are not far apart.

Earlier, the financial weekly The Edge reported citing court documents that Shabra Energy received a "white warrior" letter in the middle of last month with the intention of injecting RM1.8 billion to help the company move forward with restructuring RM10.3 billion of debt.

The anonymous "white warrior" set a number of conditions attached to the capital injection plan, including the negotiation of funds and conditions by both parties, and the use of multiple currencies to raise funds. Companies interested in capital injection are said to be from the Middle East, and the two sides launched a series of talks as early as last November.

Shabra Energy only responded that if there is any latest development, it will be announced as soon as possible. The company did not disclose the identity of the "White Samurai".
