Globaltec Formation Bhd shareholders approved the group's proposed diversification into oil and gas (O&G) exploration and production (E&P) at an EGM yesterday, paving the way for its first well drilling in March next year.Group executive chairman Datuk Seri T.C. Goh said the group, which has been losing money for the last two financial years, is confident that the new division will contribute "more than what they want"."It is difficult to answer now (on how we will do). As you know, O&G, we are entering into exploration. We hope to start operations in March or after Chinese New Year. Other than exploration, we have another subsidiary, it is services, to secure more O&G contracts. We look to these two divisions to perform accordingly," he told reporters after its AGM and EGM yesterday. He added that the recent drop in oil prices will not affect its new division as it is entering into gas segment with a focus on coalbed methane (CBM).The price of Brent crude oil has fallen more than 40% since June this year.Globatec Formation will have 55% control of NuEnergy Gas Ltd (NGY) by end of the year. The group currently has 19.9% stake in NGY, a company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.NGY is principally a gas and ancillary power generation development company with an immediate focus on establishing unconventional gas E&P in Indonesia.Earlier in August, the group had subscribed a 60% equity interest each into New Century Energy Resources Ltd (NCE) and New Century Energy Services Ltd (NCES). NCE is in the O&G E&P business with primary focus on unconventional oil and gas while NCES is in the O&G services business.Group finance director Chen Heng Mun said the group will see some improvement in its financial results next year but did not comment on how soon it expects to return to the black."We are still working very hard on the manufacturing side while waiting for contribution from O&G. The O&G sector will still go through exploration period and may not see immediate results. So certain milestones need to be achieved before we feel the first dollars and cents."Contribution from O&G won't be so fast...we cannot tell you exactly when but we have a programme (where we will evaluate our progress so far and decide on the) next milestone and how to achieve it," he said.Goh said its manufacturing division will face challenges next year including foreign exchange, implementation of the goods and services tax, high fuel cost and high labour cost."When it comes to manufacturing, we are a supporting industry. When the front-end is not doing well, it will come down to us. We are always the first ones to be hit. We can see that it is coming, that's why we look for new division to venture into. Hopefully O&G can bring in better margin to the group," he said.Goh said its existing divisions namely semiconductor, precision machining, stamping, automotive and oil palm plantation will continue and with the exception of semiconductor division, all its existing divisions are self-sustaining.He added that the group is open to diversify further if there are good opportunities to invest, so that it is not dependent on only one industry.- See more at: http://m.thesundaily.my/node/286046#sthash.ettTJZHJ.dpuf

Buy glotec.now operating drill business gas in indonesia
Gas operator remain stable by s&p
In a report titled, "More Downgrades Are Possible For Asia-Pacific Oil Companies If Oil Prices Don't Recover," it said companies with a higher proportion of production from oil than gas were particularly vulnerable."We expect a rebound in oil prices from 2016 onwards which would contain the risks to ratings."But, if the rebound doesn't happen and companies fail to promptly react to the changing environment, the pressure on ratings and stand-alone credit profiles will increase," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Lawrence Lu.For now, gas exposure and state ownership cushion most Asia-Pacific oil and gas companies from low oil prices."More than half of the oil and gas companies that we rate in the region are national players."The ratings on many of these companies remain stable despite the sharp fall in prices because of the support from their respective governments and focus on natural gas," it added- TERAS FINANCIAL NEWS

tarakan basin project and acquiring indoncbm company?something new wehhhh
from nuenergy ltd itself

The Company is pleased to advise that late Monday,
30 November 2009, IndonCBM Limited
(IndonCBM) and PT Trisula CBM Energi (Trisula), its
95% owned Indonesian domestic entity signed
PSC’s for both Rengat and South Sumatra II Projects
. On 16 June 2009, the Company advised that
IndonCBM, through its 95% owned Indonesian domestic
entity, Trisula, had entered into a formal
Cooperation Agreement with PT Pertamina Hulu Energi
(Pertamina), a company within the
Pertamina group (the Indonesian state owned oil and
gas enterprise), for the establishment of a
consortium to evaluate the South Sumatra II Project
and the Tarakan Basin project in Kalimantan.
As previously announced to ASX on 8 November 2007,
the Company has entered into an
agreement to purchase all of the shares in IndonCBM
, subject to shareholder approval
(Acquisition).
South Sumatra CBM Concession II Project
(Cooperation with Pertamina)
The South Sumatra Concession comprises an area of 6
50 square kilometres containing 10-40 meter
thick, low rank coal seams ranging in depth from 35
0 -1300m with an average reported gas
content of 158 scf/ton. The Concession appears rob
ust for CBM development containing the thick
sections of coal at optimal depths and located clos
e to existing oil and gas infrastructure
South Sumatra CBM Concession II Project
(Cooperation with Pertamina) (continued)
Existing Pertamina well sites, gas processing facil
ities and electrical grid, oilfield services and su
pply
contractor facilities are expected to be re-usable.
Produced gas can be delivered to market
through pipelines passing across the concession are
a and an export gas trunk line to Java
delivering gas to the national market. In addition
, two further pipelines delivering gas to Sumatra
power, fertilizer plants and petrochemical plants a
re understood to have spare capacity for CBM
gas.
Rengat CBM Project
(100% IndonCBM)
As a part of the tenement acquisition process, Indo
nCBM recently completed a MiGas joint study,
the results of which have defined an area of 2,995
square kilometres encompassing coal seams
averaging 3-5 meters thick and from 450 to 1550m in
depth. Preliminary studies by IndonCBM have
projected gas content in the targeted areas to be a
pproximately 118-160 scf/ton. Studies of the
concession area have strongly suggested coal proper
ties are most suitable for coal bed methane
exploitation and commercial production and rank fav
ourably with comparable global CBM
producing basins. Existing oil field and gas pipeli
ne offtake infrastructure is in place.
The infrastructure in place consists of inter-provi
ncial roads, exploration wells infrastructure and
waste water facilities for the palm industry. Ther
e is a gas pipeline across the Concession area from
northern Sumatra to Java Island Processing Terminal
which can be accessed for both pilot project
and full commercialisation production gas distribut
ion. IndonCBM is of the view that the gas
pipelines within the Concession area will enhance n
egotiations of gas offtake purchase
agreements from the project.
Tarakan Basin Project
(Cooperation with Pertamina)
IndonCBM is also evaluating and progressing the Tar
akan Basin project in Kalimantan. The Tarakan
Basin is amongst the oldest oil producing centers i
n Indonesia with a proposed PSC area of 500
square kilometres. A preliminary study indicates 4
-5 major continuous coal seams averaging 3-5
meters thick. Existing offtake infrastructure comp
rising oilfield and gas pipelines is in place.
Acquisition of IndonCBM
The Company is required to obtain shareholder appro
val for the Acquisition to satisfy various
regulatory and statutory requirements. The shareho
lder meeting materials are presently under
preparation and it is anticipated a General Meeting
will be called as soon as possible in 2010.
Should you wish to discuss any of these matters fur
ther please contact Alan Fraser on (03) 9614
