Lotte Chemical earnings set to rise on US plants

PETALING JAYA: Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd’s joint venture in the United States is expected to increase group earnings beginning next year after the operations of its two plants stabilise.
The projects – a one-million-tonne per annum ethane cracker plant and a 0.7-million-tonne per annum mono ethylene glycol (MEG) facility – will add 0.64 tonnes or an additional 18% to Lotte Chemical’s total capacity based on the apportionment of its equity stake.

Maybank IB Research has raised the company’s financial year 2020 (FY20)-FY21 earnings forecast by 8.6% and 19.3%, respectively, on the back of higher expected contributions from the two projects.

“Previously, we assumed a contribution of RM40mil in FY20 and RM80mil in FY21. Based on our latest forecast, it was too modest.

Contribution from the projects to Lotte Chemical are forecast to be RM162mil in FY20 and RM289mil in FY21.

The research house has also upgraded Lotte Chemical from a “hold” to “buy” with a target price of RM4.70, as the share price has de-rated and is now exhibiting deep value.

if u ask a person who has large holding whether it is worth to buy? for sure he will ask u to buy (especially he is in losing position and hope for relief) .....

if u ask a person without holdings, he may tell u, bank stocks are not like those speculation counters, and their holders are state funds /big funds /insurance co. .... etc. There must be reasons of low /high valuation behind ..... no harm to understand the reasons behind if u might put substantial amount of yr money .... but if u just buy a few lots, u can try yr luck without a deeper look ..... :-)

ask an old school mate (now an accountant) about the different trend of Ambank, RHB, Affin ....

he said banks are always the portfolio of funds and and dividend intended investors, once the dividend is low (use 1 year FD as benchmark), these holders will sell and looking for higher dividend stocks .... he said unless there is improvement of dividend, stock price could be hovering at low price for a prolong period ......

The Board of Directors of SEACERA wishes to announce that the Company had on 15 April 2019 received a Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting (“EGM”) dated 15 April 2019 for an EGM to be held on 15 May 2019 at 11:00 a.m. pursuant to Section 310(b) of the Companies Act 2016 (“Act”) to consider resolutions to appoint six (6) persons as new Directors and to remove eight (8) existing Directors (“Notice of EGM”). The EGM is called by four (4) members of the Company, namely Dato’ Tan Wei Lian, Datin Sek Chian Nee, Jeannie Ooi Chin Nee and Liu Zhen (“Tan Wei Lian & Others”). The Notice of EGM was accompanied by Notice of Intention issued by Tan Wei Lian & Others pursuant to Sections 206(3) and 322 of the Act (“Notice of Intention”).



In the Notice of Intention, Tan Wei Lian & Others claimed that they are members of the Company holding at least ten per centum (10%) of the issued share capital of the Company in aggregate. The Company had obtained its Record of Depositors (“ROD”) as at 15 April 2019, which conclusively confirms that Tan Wei Lian & Others were not members holding 10% of the issued share capital of the Company in aggregate as at 15 April 2019 (date of the Notice of EGM). For avoidance of doubts, Tan Wei Lian & Other are members of 7.98% only of the Company.



Therefore, the Notice of EGM is in contravention of the Act. It is unlawful, null and void. The Company had engaged Messrs Lim, Chong, Phang & Amy to take necessary action(s) against Tan Wei Lian & Others.



The Company will make further announcements on the development thereof accordingly.



This announcement is dated 19 April 2019.

Want to do a bit research on Affin .... using i3 Quarterly results, found that,
before 2014 revenue for every Q were at 700m+ , but from 2014 onward, revenue for every Q were at 400m+ ..... wonder what happened? or i3 provides wrong figures?

For those holders do not hv extra money to subscribe the RI, selling at any price above the subscription price to subscribe the RI, is reasonable.... they sell higher and buy cheaper :D

Announce of RI will hit the share price is very reasonable.... some people do not prepare extra money to buy the RI, they just sell their existing holding to subscribe the RI (which is cheaper) .....

supply is more than demand ... from indonesia too ....

Both OLH and YJH (Kian Joo) are very clever and smart persons in building self benefits from others suffering!

3 yrs ago (before bonus issue), OLH offer 1.68 for privatization, unsuccessful ...... after that, shareholders suffer prolong price depressed. OLH may offer 1.10 for privatization this time, after being long depressed, shareholders may surrender and sell to him ...... Just like Kian Joo, 3 yrs ago offered 3.30, now offer 3.10 and probably may success to privatize it !
