It’s about time for a revival after two years of slumber. It’s not that it’s gone south, but it has not exploded as we hoped for as well. Feels like we’re on the threshold, like where we were two years ago, with all that promise. Hope there are no more delays and this company fulfills its potential.

Judging by how the Malaysian business has been contributing this year. Q4 is going to be very good. FY growth over last year will be respectable. That's my guess.

I think on a whole it’s not bad. My concern is, why is the regional revenue almost stagnant when depreciation has almost doubled? Wouldn’t the latter mean that more towers are in play? The profits are holding up, thankfully, because of the Malaysian business, which has picked up again. The tower business needs to contribute more going forward. Not sure if I’m seeing it right

Actually, I agree with sosfinance. It is just 3sen above what the placees paid for their placement shares, which is not totally logical. I’m sure there was some kind of assurance given to placees for them to commit. If it goes below 55, they may as well have bought from the open market. Anyway, that’s just my point of view.

Someone please confirm this, I vaguely recall Q1 ‘18 PAT was overstated, which then was adjusted in Q2. So, if my recollection and understanding is right, the growth in the regional biz is higher than we think this quarter. And if this is the case, we can look forward to a favourable Q2 ‘19 result as well. I could be wrong.

No growth for 3 consecutive years, however, circa 25m profit for each year speaks for something. Furthermore, they’ve converted a large portion of that profit to recurring profit. Sounds good to me.

After 1 and a half years of downtrend, the 50 day moving average is crossing the 150 day, upwards. So, we’re looking at a stock that is fundamentally and technically finding firmer footing. Sure, it has loads of debt and collections can be better, however, this company has loads of potential. Let’s hope for the best !

I believe the millions spent has been in the tower business, which has been showing returns...the reason why it doesn't really show in totality, is that poor domestic results have offset whatever gains attained from overseas...I agree with sharesobserver that it would be great to have more insights into the tower business, which has grown substantially (enough to suggest a possible spin off), and more importantly, taken a lot of resources...

Only good think I see is, a good portion of the profits come from recurrent income now. Rather than relying on a Malaysian business that is unpredictable. In any case, FY more or less flat, as Ooi mentioned, in the recent Edge article. Only thing now is whether the 10-15 % annual growth he mentioned henceforth comes true. Current run up in price is just better market sentiments. Everyone’s PE ratio have increased...

1) One would hope that such build to suit contracts that run for many years have exit clauses that would reasonably compensate OCK, given the capital invested.

2) One would also hope that those towers are built in strategic locations that OCK can open them up to multiple telcos rather than just for one, Telenor. Good thing OCK has built relationships with all players there in Myanmar.

End of the day, let’s hope Telenor doesn’t leave la of course. Nobody likes uncertainty.

I'm no expert, however, the way I see it, it's the regional business that's keeping the business afloat. We can complain about interest costs la, admin cost la, currency losses la, etc. Fact is, the breakdown shows that the region has contributed more net profit in two quarters 2018 than the whole of 2017. It's the local business that we should worry about. If the first two quarters is of any indication, the local business has dropped by 50%. I could be wrong.
