Lol...at current share price of 29.5 sens..BJcorp market capitalisation is only RM1.452 billion..if Vt & gang press down to 20 sens..BJcorp market capitalisation will drop to RM0.9848 billion & they stand to lose a cool RM65.563 million! (47.53% x 0.095 x RM1.452 billion) since Vt owns 47.583% of BJcorp..anyway also hope to buy at 20 sens..

btw BJ Group expects to record a significant gain upon the successful disposal of the Proposed Berjaya Vietnam International University Town One Member Limited Liability Company ("BVIUT") Disposal and Proposed Vietnam Subsidiary Disposal accordingly in due course, going forward in the coming Qtrs?

Also BJ Group's 50% share (40% BJland & 10% BJtoto) in Vietlott will roll in the money by FY ended 30 April 2019 after a 3 years breakeven period according to Robin since the first Vietlott lottery launched in July 2016...

"Berjaya Corp, Malaysian partner of Vietlott is confident the lottery company`s total revenue in period 2017 - 2025 will reach VND117.4 trillion (US$5.1 billion), according to Vietlott`s strategic development report to 2025, with vision to 2034. Berjaya Corp is the exclusive partner of Vietnam Computerized Lottery One Member Company (Vietlott) to implement the first ever nationwide self-selected computerized lottery project in Vietnam for a duration of 18 years".

Lol.. that's a good one..but don't really have to open a new account just to comment..actually BJland ends FY18 in the red as forex rates, Sports Toto drag..

"Berjaya Land said it made lower operating profit during the quarter due to unfavourable foreign exchange translation effect as a result of the stronger ringgit (when it was 1 USD = 3.8722 MYR in for the qtr. Feb. - April) , besides higher prize payout that impacted profit contribution from Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd"

Next Qtr. results will be better as RM has become weaker again to 1 USD = 4.0240 MYR, a big difference of RM0.1518 which will lead to a big gain in profits..as most of the money coming back from China & Vietnam property sales is when RM is weak..also it's not everyday BJtoto pays a higher prize payout..otherwise everybody will buy lottery instead of play shares..

also there is a provision for impairment of RM223.80 million can be reversed in subsequent Qtrs..which may have nothing to do with BJcorp..considering that BJcorp sold an 85% stake in DSG Holdings Ltd, comprising 8.5 million shares, for RM265.99mil in cash and expected a RM108.29mil pre-tax gain to be recognised in this coming quarter (as DSG disposal has been completed on 25 June 2018)

“In spite of the comparable revenue, the group registered a significantly lower pre-tax profit for the current year under review, mainly due to impairment made on certain available-for-sale investments, assets held for sale and property, plant and equipment amounting to approximately RM223.8 million,”

Lol...the reason why? just ask Vt..

Currently total BJtoto shares 1,348,000,000 with market worth RM3.329 billion.

BJcorp owns 48.63% of BJtoto shares (at current market price of RM2.47 per share) is worth RM1.619 billion!

At current BJcorp share price of 30.5 sens with 4,924,000,000 shares giving a market worth of only RM1.502 billion...

In other words..any aggressive Asset Stripper can just buy over BJcorp for RM1.502 billion. After selling the 48.63% BJtoto shares owned by BJcorp, can still make (RM1.619b - RM1.502b) RM11.7 million profit!

This is not even counting the 80% BJland shares owned by BJcorp worth (80% x RM1.475 billion) RM1.18 billion! and other BJcorp assets in Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea and Japan worth RM Billions..

Lol..Moody’s Investors Service says the outlook for Malaysia’s banking system will be stable (A3 stable) over the next 12-18 months, supported by robust macroeconomic conditions within and outside the country. It said the removal of the goods and services tax (6% GST) could boost private consumption and benefit domestic businesses in the near term..good news to Vt?

The stable outlook was based on Moody’s assessment of six drivers, namely operating environment (stable), asset quality (stable), capital (improving), funding and liquidity (stable), profitability and efficiency (stable) and government support (stable).

On the operating environment, Moody’s said while macroeconomic conditions would prove robust, policy uncertainty posed a risk. It forecast Malaysia’s real gross domestic product to expand by 5.4% in 2018, adding that loans were expected to grow 6-7% in the same period.

Lol...part of Berjaya's automotive plan?

"Berjaya owns OASB with is a manufacturing licence that enables it to assemble vehicles, manufactures and sell engines and transmission. In its early days, it produced Opel, Datsun and Bedford cars.

Manufacturing licences are no longer dished out now due to excess capacity in the automotive industry. The Johor Bahru assembly plant has the capacity of producing 40,000 units per annum. A total of 284,461 vehicles were sold in Malaysia for the first six months of this year.

While it will take time to conclude deals with foreign players, BAssets is keeping the production crew occupied with assembly work outsourced from Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp). The latter is involved in the marketing and distributorship of Chinese commercial vehicles such as Changan, Jinbei, Dongfeng Sokon and Foton Motor Group vehicles in Malaysia."

Malaysia has become the latest battleground for foreign carmakers to fill a gap in their Asean strategy. French carmaker PSA Group, which produces Peugeot and Citroen, was an early contender to become a foreign strategic partner of ailing national carmaker Proton Holdings Bhd.

PSA wants to start a greenfield automotive plant for its Southeast Asian market either in Indonesia, Thailand or Malaysia so as to reduce its reliance on the challenging and slow growth in the European market. It plans to manufacture between 300,000 to 500,000 cars per annum to sell to the Asean market’s 600 million population. “One of the brands we are now in talks with has no foothold in Rayong [Thailand] and is very eager to come over. There are also contenders from China,” she says in an interview with FocusM. Rayong is Thailand’s automotive hub with carmakers like BMW Group, General Motors and Mazda having assembly plants there.
market talk that Tan, the Berjaya Group founder, plans to once again be actively involved in the automotive business.

Lol...government set to shake up top police ranks, IGP first to go? Illegal gambling activities will be crippled..sounds like good news to Vt?

"Yes, there is going to be an 8.5 Richter shake-up (in the police force) soon in July," a source told ST.

Several chiefs in Malaysia's police force are expected to be removed next month, including the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), as the new Pakatan Harapan government seeks to "cleanse" the organisation, sources said. Three departments that are believed to be graft-ridden are also expected to abolished, with a handful of department heads sacked, the sources who insisted on anonymity told The Straits Times.

The three departments expected to be scrapped are the Special Task Force for Anti-vice, Gaming and Gangsterism (STAGG), Special Task Force on Organised Crime (STAFOC) and Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group (STING).
Speaking about the expected shutdown of the three "special" departments, a source said a big problem was their suspected involvement in corruption and protecting the criminals they were supposed to rein in.

"That's one of the main reasons why there are plans to abolish STAGG, STAFOC and STING. Too many of those who were entrusted to fight the underworld are also the ones who protect them," another source said.

Lol..some guide on Call Warrants calculation for beginners..any experts can correct me if I am wrong?

BJCORP-C5 CALL WARRANTS 14/11/2017 24/07/2018 Exercise Price RM0.35
A Quick Guide to Cash Settlement on Expiry for BJCorp C5!

Which are the important dates?
Last trading: 5pm @19/07 (Thurs)
Suspension date: 9am @20/07 (Fri)
Expiry date: 9am @24/07 (Tue)

What happens on expiry?
- When Cash Settlement price > Exercise price = In-The-Money (ITM). Warrant will have value at expiry & automatically be exercised.
- When Cash Settlement price < Exercise price = Out-of-The-Money (OTM). Warrant expires worthless.

:o: Here's an EXAMPLE calculation for Cash Settlement Amount if C5 is > RM0.35 e.g. RM0.42, In-The-Money (ITM)
Say, you purchased 100,000 BJCORP-C5 CALL WARRANTS .
Exercise price: RM0.35
Exercise ratio: 1 warrant to 1 mother share (aka underlying)

Your Cash Settlement Amount:
If Cash Settlement Price on 24/07 is RM0.42:
= Number of BJCorp-C5 exercised x [(Cash Settlement Price - Exercise Price) / Exercise Ratio ]
= 100,000 x [(0.42-0.35) / 1]
= RM7,000 approx

If Cash Settlement Price on 24/07 is RM0.50:
= Number of BJCorp-C5 exercised x [(Cash Settlement Price - Exercise Price) / Exercise Ratio ]
= 100,000 x [(0.50-0.35) / 1]
= RM15,000 approx

* The Cash Settlement Price of RMx.xx is based on the average daily volume weighted average price (VWAP) of the ordinary shares of BJcorp for the five (5) market days prior to and including the market day immediately before the Expiry Date.
* The Cash Settlement Amount will be delivered to you via cheque by ordinary post within 7 market days from the Expiry Date.
* If you purchased 100,000 BJcorp C5 call warrants on 8/6/18 @0.015 per unit. Total cost is 100,000 x RM0.015 = RM1,500.

* If the cash settlement price is RM0.42, your profit would be, Cash Settlement Amount - Call Warrants Purchase Price = RM7,000 - RM1,500 = RM5,500?

* If the cash settlement price is RM0.50, your profit would be, Cash Settlement Amount - Call Warrants Purchase Price = RM15,000 - RM1,500 = RM13,500?

So the higher the price of BJcorp mother share above RM0.35 on 24/07, the higher the returns..
