Lol... Uncle Tan can't buy openly otherwise the cat is out of the bag! So he gets Penta/macais to do it quietly for him. Anyway he is busy welcoming a new daughter in law soon..
Obviously as RM87.40 million over 230 million BJLand equals RM0.38 per share...since privatisation is imminient as BJCorp total shareholding in BJLand already breach 84.5% with the latest acquisition and don't meet Bursa listing requirements.. some friendly party/Penta has put up a roadblock to minimise the offer price to remaining shareholders for Uncle Tan to take BJLand private, to meet BJ Group's restructuring plan to be announced on Founder's Day Feb. 23? before Lou Ma retires...

Lol..Apart from the RM1.6 billion due to BJLand/BJCorp don't forget there's another RM222 million cash due to BJLand from Vietnam property sales with RM192 million profit. Uncle Tan with 7% direct shares in BJLand will also want his Ang Pao through a special dividend payment for all BJLand shareholders including BJCorp before the MGO/Privatisation process starting with 38 sens... GongXi Fa Cai!

Lol...Update on BJCorp acquisition...once the offer of RM0.38 for each BJLand share goes through...it will trigger a MGO for minority shareholders at the same price as a prelude to Privatisation?
"Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) is acquiring a 4.61% stake in Berjaya Land Bhd (BLand) for RM87.4 million or 38 sen per share.
The purchase price of 38 sen represents a 49% premium against BLand’s today closing price of 25.5 sen.
Upon completion of the proposed acquisition, BCorp’s shareholding in BLand will increase to 76.89% from 72.28% as at Jan 29, 2019.

Lol... Basically the big transaction of 5% by Penta has reduced further the no of shares available for sale atm at Bursa..if u have observed that no of shares on the sell queue over a period of a few months... u will know what we meant...

Lol...the problem is not retailers who are selling it's somebody else...now that 5% has been acquired by Penta from the seller..there's less shares for sale in the market... given the limited shares available for sale at Bursa...according to demand & supply situation, price will move up with Uncle Tan's restructuring plan.

Lol..history will repeat itself with Berjaya Group's Okinawa Project to be funded by long term cheap Japanese loan just like previously done with the successful Kyoto development...the cash & profit from Vietnam & Kyoto Project will be used for Uncle Tan's restructuring plans which is for the immediate term...anyway with Pahang as Agong...with friends in Federal & State Govt. Berjaya Tioman will get the airport extension Uncle Tan has always wanted...
