"Boeing and the authorities in the manufacturing country should be looking out for the plane. Maybe the plane type should be grounded," he wrote.
In further defending MAS, Dr Mahathir said the carrier had been flying with numerous aircraft, has a good track record and well-trained crew.

"If it did why did it not direct the aircraft to land safely? Is it possible for third parties to take control of the aircraft remotely?"
He also noted that it was a standard practice that when a plane crashes, a team of experts would arrive at the scene soonest to find the cause of the crash, but lamented that Boeing had shown no interest and had continued to keep mum.

Dr Mahathir said remote control technology was now very sophisticated and powerful and wondered whether Boeing had installed remote control equipment on the aircraft to prevent any hijacking attempts.

He added the onus was now on the company to demonstrate possible ways for the plane's communications system to be disabled, adding that the manufacturer must accept responsibility for building an aircraft that could vanish so completely.

"Boeing built this aircraft. Boeing must explain how all these means of tracking the plane can be disabled, can fail. Either Boeing technology is poor or it is not fail-safe.
"I would not like to fly in Boeing aircraft unless Boeing can explain how all its system can fail or be disabled," he said.

The country's longest serving premier expressed surprise that with today's array of vast and sophisticated technology to track all passenger planes, no trace of the Boeing 777-200ER aircraft had been found.

"MAS is not at fault, lax security or not. MAS flew a plane fully expecting it to perform the task. But the plane has somehow behaved differently. Who is responsible? Not MAS but certainly the makers of the plane – Boeing Aircraft Corporation," Dr Mahathir wrote in his blog chedet.cc.

The families in Beijing had expressed dissatisfaction in obtaining details of the missing aircraft, MAS had said.
"I am upset because they are blaming the wrong people. The loss of the plane is due to the manufacturer Boeing.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has blamed aircraft manufacturer Boeing for the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 and said the company should explain how it could have produced a plane with communications and tracking systems that were so easily disabled.
In defending the national carrier which had been blamed by upset relatives of the 239 passengers on board, especially those from China, the former prime minister said he was upset that Malaysia Airlines staff were held for more than 10 hours in a hotel in Beijing yesterday.

These 4 points alone is enough to discourage investors into buying Tanco for midterm prospective.
Your discretion to invest in Tanco is advised

4) That 37,500,000 shares as payment in lieu of cash to Tony Tan is almost 11.2% of Tanco's 334.886m Issued Shares. How can Tanco survive where just Tony Tan's remuneration alone is almost 11.2% of the capital of Tanco?
2014-04-24 18:14 | Report Abuse
3) With Tony Tan's salary package alone at RM 1.5m a year, even if each year's ESOS is exercised, Tanco actually can lay hand to (RM 2.2726m - RM 1.5m = RM 772,600 only.
How is this RM 772,600 going to help in building the Water Theme Park? Perhaps buying a few garden tables and chairs will be the ultimate scenario. Another alarm bell.
2014-04-24 18:14 | Report Abuse
Points to take note :
1) Up to almost 37,500,000 new Tanco shares at 0.20 a share was issued to DS Tony Tan for his subscription to the Exercise because Tanco owed him almost 5 years of unpaid remuneration of RM7.5m. In a nutshell, this scenario is akin to (a) Tanco has no money to pay his salary for the past 5 years and (b) DS Tony Tan has no money to pay for the new 37.5m shares at 0.20 share.
Any which way you look at it, both major shareholder and Tnaco also has no money. What a joke !
2) Now Tanco is trying to push through the ESOS of 34.09m shares at 0.20 (the par value of Tanco shares). And more than 50% of it is in Tony Tan & family's hand. But the term of the ESOS spelled out clearly that only up to a third of the ESOS can be exercised within any given year. So it will take 3 years to rake in the proceeds of 34.09m x 0.20 = RM 6.818m.
That said, Tanco can only lay hand to RM 2.2726m a year from this ESOS, PROVIDED that each year 's allowable exercise of the ESOS are taken up.

It is important that the full content of the black box is made public so that the family members of the victims on board that flight along with the international community that helped provide assistance to find the black box and those individuals all over the world that expressed their concerned about MH 370 will be able to find out what happened that lead to the downing of that jet. My concern is if the black box is given the Malaysian gov't to analyze it, they may goof it up just like they have consistently goofed up on every part of this missing MH 370 flight ordeal right from failing to act when the flight disappeared from radar, not act when the military radar detected the jet had changed flight direction and giving the infamous confusing and conflicting press statements on SAR plans.

Independent of the MH370 tragedy, MAS lost RM1.17 billion in the last financial year.
Before that Ahmad Jauhari said that MAS had turned around and predicted it to return to profitability in 2014. Now, he should resign as in 2014/2015, MAS will lose even more billions.

Even before MH370 disappeared, MAS was already losing billions of ringgit. With the disappearance of MH370, its reputation and a slice of the market is lost.
How in the world can the present CEO turn MAS around and make it soar again when he failed to do it earlier? What crap is he talking? There is no other option except that his head must roll.

Actually, this is a simple issue. All that is required is for MAHB together with the Umno-BN government to instruct MNRB (which runs Malaysian Reinsurance Berhad), and Bank Negara Malaysia to issue a blanket insurance policy to AirAsia.
This is to guarantee AirAsia that MAHB and the government shall be responsible for all losses arising from damage to aircraft, loss of use, bodily injuries to staff, passengers, including loss of profits arising from flight delays, takeoffs, delivery of ground services, etc.
Then AirAsia's fears are gone, right? MAHB maintains its stand that airport, runways, etc, are all 101 percent real world standards, not Malaysia Umno/MCA cronies standards. Issue solved.

It will be a shock if no action is taken against every one of them who have contributed to the debacle in MH370, nothing less of a sack is acceptable. Can the BN do that, or will they get promotions instead?
What really is beyond belief is why the BN, particularly Umno, is not able to see what is happening in the Malaysia political landscape. After this MAS incident, we have proven to the world how incompetent we are, and dare I say how stupid we can be.
A country with a so-called best education system in the world has produced countless jokers and sadly, they are concentrated in BN. Nothing very intelligent is ever spoken by almost all of the BN leaders.
Why can't they see all this? Do we all have to suffer for generations to come?

Meanwhile in China, about 30 minutes before Najib’s announcement, MAS began informing relatives of this and that there were no survivors.
MAS group CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yayha later defended this, saying that the aircraft is running low on fuel at its last known location in a remote part of the Indian Ocean, therefore the prospect of survival for an extended period of time is "extremely, extremely remote".
