novice8: I also novice. Still learner surfer in EW. I just try and do some counting and see if bro matrixcool reading tallies. That's the only way to improve.
Bro matrixcool is very much more advance - he already reading stuff like cup and handles. Best to follow him, I'm only looking for advice.

Yes, benson911, you are most certainly entitled to your opinion. And you may be correct too!

I doubt fund managers or institutional investors are interested in our i3 chatter.
But they would certainly be very interested in reports like the one in the Malay Mail and the RHB re-rating report. If they were to sell based on their own reading of these reports, there is nothing you can say in this forum that will change their actions.
That is why when you hold a stock like Mudajaya, you must keep an eye on what the directors, ex-director and institutions are doing. This is what we call "follow the money".
Next two weeks will be crucial to see if there are any Bursa filings of large scale disposals.
2014-04-26 18:28 | Report Abuse
AhMoi: If the company's prospects were brightening, would the directors and ex-director keep selling? If highlighting the directors/ex-director actions is also unsubstantiated blah blah blah stuff, then hope is all that is left for you.
2014-04-26 18:20 | Report Abuse
From johnny cash's postings, I do not see that he is hoping for Mudajaya's price to drop. I would rather think that he is invested and concerned that the price will drop.
Basically, he should have acted on his gut feeling and left the counter just like smallfish who actually cut his losses. As you can see from smallfish's postings, he has been stating all this while that the Mudajaya Management is incompetent.
The short term and medium term technicals for Mudajaya do not look good at the moment. This has really nothing to do with retail selling as the heavy selling and the price drop on Thursday and Friday means that the bigger shareholders are liquidating.
Anyway, assume whatever you wish - holding or selling is entirely your choice.
2014-04-26 18:12 | Report Abuse
Regarding brightening prospects, maybe you should ask johnny cash. He has been posting the links for the Malay Mail report and also the RHB re-rating report and seems to have unlimited access to all sorts of research reports like the Affin report posted just now. johnny cash was also the first in this forum thread to highlight the depleting order book for Mudajaya even before the RHB report was issued which actually confirmed what he said.
The prospects of Mudajaya are documented clearly in the Malay Mail and RHB reports and are hardly unsubstantiated blah blah blah stuff.
In investing, you must know when to cut your losses and when to let your profits run. Hoping for the best is most certainly not a strategy.
If you only want to hear good news about Mudajaya, then just skip reading the reports etc.

johnny cash: 1MDB has stated its intention of widening its power business to India under its Powertek company. The banks won't lend it any more money to do so as they consider that Powertek is too highly geared ie the banks want Powertek to be listed so that they can be paid from the IPO proceeds.
Now, it has been reported that Tanjung (Ananda Khrisnan) is willing to take up 2 billion equity in Powertek for this purpose. 1MDB is of course looking for a generating power plant just like the ones that they have acquired. So, no construction benefit there to anybody.
The point is that Tanjung are also power plant players themselves so it may not be easy to get them to approve athe Indian power plant purchase. If any such viable plants were available, Tanjung would have done their own purchase long ago.
If you ask me, this is just building hype ahead of the Powertek IPO.

4u2c: When to sell is really very personal - some can be very happy with the current price and would have unloaded. Some feel got potential, so can still wait.
Bro newman is just offering some free and good advice - May to September are normally down months and could be further dampened by the World Cup (very little stock trading interest and a lot of football betting).
Or, you can follow madiba's view that it will continue to trade up and consolidate in mid-May before the next leg up. Like DreamM has highlighted, GST starts next April 1, so the Govt must make the award very soon.
I doubt if MPay's potential ends with the GST award.

johnny cash: Good afternoon. Had your lunch yet?
I'm sure you can tell from this forum thread as to whom I'm referring to. Any comment which is contrary to his view is met with accusations of conning people and with demands for proof etc. Very confrontational chap!
You and I both post in quite a lot of different threads in i3 and while forumners in these other threads do not agree all the time, everyone is still cordial.
You are active in this thread, so I'm sure you will continue to update readers on the company's developments whether positive or negative.
It is hard to say which research house is right or wrong - RHB is also bullish on certain companies like Instacom but that company's share price is seriously under-performing!! One will just have to read their reports and make one's own assessment - after all, it is one's investment and one's own money.

If what I raised were so-called allegations and most forumners here already don't agree, then I must be wrong.
After all, if practically all of you all don't agree, then obviously, none of you are being conned (as you have implied so many times).
So, stop being so annoying.

Like I said, if you have read the report and are satisfied with the Management replies, that's also fine with me.
If you had not noticed, I have already made my comments much earlier on the Management replies.
So, can you please stop being so annoying. If you don't agree with my view, that's also fine with me.

4u2c - Bro newman is our champion daytrader. Listen to his good and really sound advice. He has been making and helping others make serious moolah.
Don't forget DJ and S&P closed 0.8% down Friday night. If you are playing contra and have not closed your position yesterday, Monday/Tuesday may be loss days.
Agreed though that if you LT and holding, more upside to come. I am also LT but I do trade this counter.

johnny cash: Most are aware now of the Malay Mail report (as are the fund managers and institutionals).
The report actually raises some really serious issues which the Management has failed to clarify adequately. But I don't think that most of the forumners here want to know about that.
I will leave it to you then to post all new developments on the company. Be prepared to be called my accomplice.
Do keep an eye on the Bursa announcements for news of any further selling by the directors/ex-directors/institutions.

sirkevch: At last, a level headed guy. My apologies if I had been rather abrupt with my earlier reply to you.
I see you made some very good choices in pjdev, alam and gadang. pjdev and gadang should have reached their target prices while alam still has some more to run.
By the way, I don't think anyone here is doomsaying. I happen to know more about the company as I am in the construction industry and was just sharing.
Let's recap:
1. Malay Mail report dated 9 April - link was provided by johnny cash
2. RHB re-rating report - I provided the link and later johnny cash too
3. Directors and ex-director selling - see the Bursa announcements
4. Ex-director selling to change cars etc - Uncle Koon
5. Depleting order book - first raised by johnny cash
6. Kidex Highway - clarification on the tender status was provided by me (as the news articles were giving the wrong info)
7. Fraud allegations in the Indian IPP project - see the Malay Mail report
8. Hint on how the Indian IPP issues were resolved with Bursa - bro Leno
Postings were generally on all the above and one gets couched accusations from some upset forumners.
These are all negative developments and will certainly affect the short to medium term trend. And if institutionals start selling, it can become a long term downtrend. As sosfinance highlighted, the stock could be affected for 2 years or more when confidence evaporates.
Since you appear to be a long term investor, you can perhaps ride it out but the real spanner in the works could be more negative disclosures on the Indian IPP project.

Or perhaps I'm supposed to tell all of you that Mudajaya is such a wonderful company, and that the share price will reach 5.00 next week. Please feel free to buy more and hold!
2014-04-25 23:40 | Report Abuse
sunztzhe: Look at the market and follow the money! Even the company share buyback today did not help (go to Bursa to see the company announcement for today 25 Apr). You really think it was retail selling that caused the share price to drop like this with heavy volume and that there are greedy people gleefully scooping up the shares today? Especially when smart retailers like you are not even selling?
All technical indicators are pointing down, the price is well below the 50dma, has broken below the lower 20dma Bollinger band and may also break below its previous strong support at 2.59. If the downtrend continues next week , you had better pray that it does not break its downtrend line support at around 2.40 (especially if you are still holding).
With a technical reading like this and you are implying that I am buying???
I think you should stop being so bull-headed and open your eyes. Check out the technical charts yourself, ok!

fortunebullz: Yes, this seems to be the play now in GHL and MPay. Maybe that's why Iris re-hashed their old story about their swiss partner hoping to give a boost to its price. But kuya hawk already posted the chart showing that Iris will retrace to 39sen, haha!!
We do have a professional resident analyst in this thread who is giving very solid research and who is very perceptive of the market movements. So, we are all riding on the company's potential.

johnny cash: You still seem to be optimistic although I would have thought, from you postings, that you are not too happy with the company.
The company has always marketed itself as a power plant expert. Sure you wouldn't mind if they make some more "wonderful" power investments like RMK Powergen?

tc2012: That's a new one, haha!! Someone trying to teach Uncle Koon a lesson!!! The current Mudajaya is not his company. Just before the MBO, it was owned by Mulpha. He is only an investor and owns perhaps a million or so shares - much less than his investment in companies like Jaya Tiasa.
You guys just don't want to see what is staring you right in the face and that is: very negative corporate developments with suggestions of fraud, all highlighted in the Malay Mail and RHB re-rating reports.
On top of that, newbies like valuelurker (only 10 posts so far) and sunztzhe (only 34 posts) making asinine aspersions.
The directors and ex-director started selling and now, probably the institutional investors on learning of the insider selling, and the Mail Mail and RHB re-rating reports, leading to the heavy dumping of Mudajaya shares over the past 3 days as observed by fortunebullz.
From what I can gather here, practically all of you are holding very tightly to your shares, so nobody here got conned at all. Even though the market has been selling down from 2.83 to 2.59 today (with the directors and ex-director leading the way).
So, my congratulations to all the very smart people here. And do continue to hold very tightly to your shares, ok!
