When I first read the news above 2 days ago, I was not sure if YTL group was serious about a bid. The Kulai land that they bought a few years ago was only 664 ha. Why would they be interested in 97,400 ha of land bank? Why they need so much land? Well, it makes sense to me now. The pie is THAT huge.

I am surprised to learn something related to renewable energy:

"In the next few months Malaysia will launch a regional renewable energy exchange market that will facilitate and accelerate cross-border renewable trade.

... we will have to scale up our capacity by about 11 times in the next 20 years and for that to happen, we have to invest 150 billion dollars in infrastructure in the next 20 years

... we are looking at the South (region) for example to focus not just on the traditional oil and gas ... but also on renewables.

the impact is small (cap or no cap; how much exposure to the spot market), that's all I need to know. It is not about PowerSeraya alone as there are other catalyst such as green data centre, Wessex after rate hike, higher dividend. Not to mention potential such as more Renewable Energy ventures. This is the most exciting time for YTLP in years!

shocking QR. No wonder huge sell off last Friday. It does not tell the prospect of next QR. It traded around P/E 30 this morning. If investors also give P/E 30 after QR, its share price will trade around RM2.30

current price maybe too high. Its share dropped to 1.40-1.60 range a few times. I think it is better to buy at this lower range.

When good QR is reported, people start notice. When the company reports an exceptional QR, the hot money keep coming in. Some people expect the latest QR as the new normal. Expectation is high. Unfortunately the next QR is back to normal. Investors lose money.

PowerSeraya reported result that was beyond our wildest dream. My biggest question is whether its result can be sustained in the next QR. I read 2 analyst reports above and noticed that the analyst did not project similar EPS for next QR. I will not buy more before the next QR

most if not all property counters trade below P/E Ratio 10, so this stock is overvalue. There are also better IPO this month/next month so most likely people will skip this IPO. Who knows? If you subscribe, you most likely will get it. If it closes below IPO price the first day, I will not be surprised.

the top 2 tech stocks reported good QR in Jan-March -- Unisem and MI both reported bad QR this time. I am afraid the downtrend of tech stocks will continue in the next few months

Most tech stocks may face the same problem. Probably it is better to sell, at least some, before Quarterly Report is announced.

at this price it is overvalued, and the bonus issue makes it worse. Bonus issue is usually the dead sentence of an uptrend. Big funds are likely to sell before the bonus issue.

I am a bit concerned about its next few earnings. The last QR was better than expected while some other tech companies struggled. Is it possible that due to lag factor the slow down in demand will only show up in the next few quarters?

thank you dragon328 for your information. I only have data since FY2013. It's payout ratio is better than I expected, so an increase of dividend this year is possible. Anyway, I am not disappointed if its dividend is not increased this year. Its outlook is exciting and thus the dividend in the next few years is going to be higher.

I do not think YTLPOWR will increase its dividend for a few years:
- lots of projects going on, so need to reserve cash for CAPEX
- based on their records, they do not increase dividend immediately

C22 seems ok. Maturity Date: May 17th, which is shorter than C23 (July 31st)

I understand most web sites states that the EPS of 3QFY22 is 12.47 sen but that includes the disposal gain on ElectraNet. Does anyone know the EPS of 3QFY22 excluding the disposal gain on ElectraNet? Is it true that it is 0.1 sen?
