US stocks moved sharply higher on the news. Today our KLCI is anticipated to follow the direction on the positive news being announced.

WHY ARE US 10 YEAR TREASURY YIELDS SO IMPORTANT?

1)When the yield on the 10 year bond goes up it indicates that the long term interest rates is going
up.

2)When the rates goes up it will affect a lot of investments in the economy. It will affect the stock
market, the housing market, credit card, personal loans & so on.

3)Due to the increased cost of borrowing it will affect investments in the stock market becos the
margin rate will also increase.   

4)It will also affect the housing mkt becos less people are willing to commit on new housing n as a
result prices will hv to come down.

5)For those who hv bought houses they will also b affected due to increased mortgage payments.

Hence it will affect the overall economic activity, n shall derail the recovery of the US economy if the 10 year US Treasury Yields touches above the critical level of 3.50%. So all eyes & ears shall b focus on the 10 year US Treasury Yields during the coming FOMC meeting on 17/9 & 18/9.

US bond yields hv surged since Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke said that the policy setting FOMC could start tapering its asset purchases fr US$85bil a month.

If US yields shoot even higher after this week FOMC meeting on 17/9 & 18/9, confidence will be rattled, the already feeble housing-driven US recovery could stumble & investors in emerging markets might experience shock wave again, start rushing for the exit door.

The potential for Fed tapering alone to shock the markets or derail the global recovery has surely not diminished.

I think the future prospects for SALCON is extremely bright, since SPSETIA's Tan Sri Liew KS son's Co Eco World Development Sdn Bhd hv already joined with SALCON currently undertaking several property development projects in KL & Johor & also bought a lot of land for future development.

Can consider accumulating SALCON when the price is on consolidation phase. Good luck.

Bro Sang Jero As I hv mentioned in my earlier forum, my investment strategy is temporary for short-term by using the 'Hit & Run' or 'TNG' formulae, n hv already decided to dispose my stocks ahead of the coming FOMC meeting on 17/9 & 18/9. I'm not under the risk appetite trader category, & has always believe that 'CASH IS KING' during market major consolidation phases.

Therefore, I hv already sold my darling stock PANTECH @1.00 on 11/9/2013 which I hv bought @0.97 & making a small capital gain + dividend entitlement.

However, I'll definitely take position again to join bro Sang Jero to accumulate my darling stock after the dust has settled. I strongly believe that PANTECH is a good fundamental stock with excellent prospect for future growth to reward its shareholders.

SALCON will consider a special dividend for shareholders followg the disposal of water assets in China for RM518.3mil, expects its new property development business to contribute higher earnings than its water n waste water concession business in 2 years.

SALCON is scheduled to launch a RM1bil mixed development project in Johor next year, a project it is jointly developing with Eco World Development Sdn Bhd , a Co linked to SP SETIA BHD's Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin.

SALCON, meanwhile has tendered for RM1.7bil of projects, which include the Langat 2 water treatment plant.

The future of SALCON looks bright if it is under the stewardship of Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin, who is expected to leave SP SETIA BHD by year 2015 as contractually agreed with Khazanah Nasional Bhd.
