this will be my last time to explain why PANSAR will benefit (I have explained it many times already) and I do not want to keep entertaining ppl like you.
2016-08-04 11:40 | Report Abuse
i have explained in the past that PANSAR is the largest distributor in Sarawak for construction materials. And the recent SCORE, PAN BORNEO projects will require more construction materials to be traded and PANSAR will benefit from there.. you seem to ignore my previous remarks... scroll up and check... stop being childish anymore.. i am not angry, just feel sad for you at your childishness...

Dear CUTLOST, since you are expecting a net loss in Q2, why are you still advocating a buy at 0.86? If Q2 really sees a net loss, the price would have dropped further, right? we need some logical sense to understand your comments...

haha, really? poor him... no wonder the style of talking nonsense is quite identical between both of them...

CUTLOST, please stop giving false statement. On what base can you derive that Q2 will see net loss? can you stop being so childish and ridiculous?

bingo everise. as i have always been saying, Q2 profit should remain intact and be more or less the same as Q1. I don't expect any huge drop in net profit. And you are right, Evergreen has a broad range of customers although middle east constitutes a big portion of their exports. in the latest meeting with RHB, the management also mentioned that they can move the exports to other Asian countries if middle east demand is softening... but the tradeoff is the ASP will be lower. anyway, since USD is still strong (above 4.00 now and I expect it to remain somewhere at this range in the next 2 years) and the internal restructure is fruiting more cost reduction + 2017 expansion, I would expect 2017 to perform better. I think you are also aware of this... afterall, Evergreen is not a good fit for short-term speculators, but more for mid/long-term investors who are willing to hold the shares up to a year or so... I think if you are buying at current price, 50-70% of return in one year is very likely...

guys here, let's do a recap... from RM1.20 to RM0.905 (lowest yesterday), if someone had big enough funds, he kept buying (especially when the price is below RM1.00), his average would be below RM1.00 based on his much heavier weightage for shares bought below RM1.00... and when the panic selling is over and after the release of upcoming quarterly reports indicate that the profit is still sound and intact, the price is moving upwards... and that is the time for this person to open a champagne and celebrate, thanks to those who did panic selling...

CUTLOST, your sarcastic tactic won't work here... we have not seen you provide a single fact to support any of your statements made here in i3. You are basically only shouting "sell" or "buy" with no solid support to your statements... or you simply set a target price based out of nothing... forumers here can evaluate themselves on what have been posted by everyone here and I don't believe you have any impact in promoting this share if you can't justify with any reasoning...

Max's Lim, I think the core business net profit in Q2 will be similar to what it was in Q1. But I am not sure if there will be any other one-time cost (impairment etc) that pulls down the overall net profit... after all, core business/operating profit should remain flat...

hooi72, I invest in more than 1-2 shares but normally will keep my list less than 10. investing purely in 1-2 shares only can be a bit more risky... as many have known, shares with good fundamentals may not see its price go up immediately in short term (there are many reasons why the price does not go up), and if we only rely heavily on 1-2 shares, we may not have any return within a period of time... anyway, it is also good if you take "dividend payout" as one of your major considerations when choosing a fundamentally good share... FYI, take Evergreen as an example, fundamental wise, it is sound and strong but recent drop may not provide you any return in share appreciation. But Evergreen started new dividend policy to give out at least 25% of its net profit to shareholders... so if net profit is 12 sen EPS, you get 3 sen... at price of 91sen, dividend yield is 3.3% (slightly better than FD)... so you can still generate income if the share price does not go up (because you cannot sell the share yet to gain profit)... but sooner or later, as long as the fundamental continues to be strong or improve, it will catch the eyes of more investors. And by that time, share price re-valuation will happen.

haha... Dear CUTLOST, you are getting more and more ridiculous... if next qtr sees a net loss, the sun will rise from the west... stop giving false statements... a net loss is 200% impossible if you understand Evergreen's current business situation well... I would expect core net profit to remain more or less the same as last quarter... Q2 release will be a testament for what i wrote today... let's see..

hooi72, i am no spokesman of Evergreen group. I am just an ordinary investor like anyone of you here... just that I have been sharing facts and fundamental info with other EVERGRN investors here to avoid them from doing panic selling, which in turn causes them losses in their investment. To explain things (plus facts), it can't be done in just a few words, right?

DestinyT... your message is well noted, thanks... To me, as long as I still keep certain amount of cash (instead of buying all at one time), I can average my cost down if the price drops more... this is because we will never know what is the bottom price and as long as it is below its reasonable price (with margin of safety), i think i can still buy....

vincent27, investment has certain level of risk, of course... I am seeing this as a favourable chance to accumulate at discounted price but some may not think the same... after all, we should all be accountable for our own investment... but if you ask me, yes, i am very confident the current over-selling is not to be scared, but to be cherished... (Warren Buffet said, when most of the ppl are wary, it is time we should think in the reverse way and be greedy).. of course, this only applies to fundamentally good stocks and evergreen is definitely one of those...

everise, if u noticed today's transaction, u would have seen a very funny trend which I believe was being manipulated... before the price dropped to a lower point (say from 0.95 to 0.945), the first transaction for 0.945 was only 100 share (minimum)... similar thing keep happening when the price dropped to another lower point.... from this trend, it is quite obvious that some hands are trying to suppress the price down... they sell their own shares and buy back... in summary: they sell relatively small amount of share at higher price.. but accumulate more shares at lower price.. so their average price is still low.. and they gain big when the price rebounds...

a sharing with fellow investors here..
recently RHB team met up with Evergreen's management and they would expect a flattish year for 2016 (same as what I expected before this report was out yesterday)... you can see that the management said the same thing - lower ASP for MDF but since the raw material cost is lower and with effective internal restructure to drive down production cost + expansion in 2017... it is still worth a buy... but you may need to hold till next year.. so i dun suggest short-term speculator to buy...

haha.. hotrod... keep calm... Yew Guan Jen must have forgotten about this... btw, Mr Yew, normally Q1 is around 21% of full year EPS due to festive seasons like CNY etc... and the total working days (due to short Feb) is also less thus less revenue and profit recognized.. but if u look at Q1 results, there is forex loss (compared to Q1 2015 - forex gain)... so overall "core business" net profit and profit margin has improved actually... anyway, i foresee Q2 profit margin will be less as the average selling price of MDF has dropped... but this will be offset at certain level by the stronger USD in Q2 (expect some forex gain)... after all, I expect a flattish 2016 as compared to 2015... so EPS should be around 12-13 sen this year... at current price 0.925, PE ratio is only around 7.1-7.7. And NA/share is RM1.37, sp P/BV is so much discounted at 0.675... (way lower than the standard 1.5 ratio).... so you should see why this share is undervalued...

DarkLord, honestly speaking, last year i sold almost 70% of my shares which I accumulated around 2013-14 when the price hit RM2.50+... and now I started to buy back... this share hit RM2.56 highest (before bonus issue).. and if you adjust it to after bonus issue, highest is around RM1.71... and it has dropped so much from RM1.71.. and I started to buy back when it was below RM1.00... dun forget about the weak MYR now, and low crude oil price (raw material for resin), and then end-2016 to 2017 capacity expansion carried out by evergreen... for now, the weak price is short-termed...

DestinyT, there is no problem if the hands behind purposely suppress the price down to 70-80, the only problem is when you do not have enough funds to average down...

CUTLOST... 2014 price (around 42 sen @ lowest) was due to loss making in 4-5 consecutive quarters (oversupply from other ASEAN newly set-up (smaller) MDF players) bcoz 2009-10 were very good years for MDF players... so it attracted more players to set up new factories.. this had caused oversupply and pricing war.. this was told by the Group COO Mr Kuo JC over a phone conversation... and during 2012-14.. many of these smaller players had terminated their business as they can't survive.. and Evergreen (as the biggest player in ASEAN) then eat up these market shares and turnaround with fashion (thanks to strong USD too, and low resin/oil price, low rubber log price, etc)...

Thanks Icon for your sharing again...
But I see 2 potential risks which may be quite averse to CIMB:
1) Non-Niaga net profit has been deteriorating since the past 3 quarters, from 778million to 752millions and then to 731millions. 3 consecutive quarters of poorer results. So it may not be correct to use the average of previous 3 quarters to arrive at 754million net profit. You see each quarter the net profit reduced by 21-26milions. So I expect non-niaga profit for Q2 maybe 731-(21-26million) = 705-710million instead of 754millions.
2) Yes, Niaga net profit has improved over the past 3 quarters. But the weightage is around 83/731=11% for the whole CIMB group... even if Niaga profit increases by 50million, it can be easily wiped out by non-Niaga profit that is reducing.
Conclusion: recent cut of OPR will definitely reduce profitability for banks (including CIMB) so i expect poorer net profit in Malaysia... and since non-Niaga profit is still a doubt (and has a high chance of getting worse), i dun see how Niaga profit (with small weightage) will help improve the overall CIMB group's profit...
just my 2 cents and I could be wrong...
enjoy investing though, cheers...

moneykj... i think USD was weaker during Jan-Mar (around RM3.9x) and during April-June, USD had strengthened... so the worst Forex losses is over and I anticipate some forex gain in Q2 (April-June) instead of Forex losses (as the account would compare the trade balances against the USD closing price ended March 31st)... the only tradeoff is recently Evergreen's average selling price of MDF is lower.. so the forex gain may be wiped off due to the lower selling price... that is why I expect a similar result in Q2 (a big drop of revenue/profit) is very unlikely... by end of Aug we can tell if my assumption is correct or not...

Max's Lim, as i had mentioned earlier, 2016 full year net profit should be around the same as 2015, so don't expect a much better result in 2016. But I foresee 2017 will be a much better year for EVERGRN due to their expansion and internal restructuring projects. As I have always been saying, this is not a share for short-term speculation. I am prepared to hold it until 2017.
