btw, i love your act of pulling the price down.. thanks.. so that i can buy more at cheaper price.. but what you did was very unethical and childish... come on.. grow up please....

let me reiterate, I would expect similar profit (or slightly more) in Q2... and i am very sure about it... why? do your own homework and you will be confident.. not like you, talk rubbish without any facts....

haha... abcb, if the coming quarterly report shows a drop of more than 20% of its profit, i will kick Najis's balls in front of the Malaysians and FBI. And you are saying 60% (where is your proof to justify that?)... haha... i can only conclude that your motive/personal agenda is very clear: either you want to sabotage Evergreen for fun (as the ppl here proved you wrong and you hold the grudge) or you are so mean to try to pull the price down so that you get to buy cheap... come on.. grow up and leave your childhood behind... again, I say if the profit drops more than 20%, I will do what i promised above... and if it does not, can you lick Najis's ass in front of us? haha... you are super duper ridiculous clown to us, u know?...

by the way Ex_CFO and everise, I just found out that the average selling price of MDF dropped slightly compared to last quarter... so even though Evergreen will have forex gain (instead of loss) in Q2, i suspect their Q2 results will be more or less the same or slightly better than Q1... dun expect a huge jump in revenue and profit...

yeah everise, in fact, i would like to ask our beloved friend abcb: what is the bottom price? if you can tell me, you are the God... no one can predict what the bottom price is.. what we can do is keep buying when it is still undervalued...

and i agree with comebackisrael that someone is controlling the price (accumulating shares and trying to suppress the price before they are done with the accumulation)...

no worries ladies and gentlemen... i added more Evergreen shares recently and will continue to top up at current price... what a good discount now... when the share price of a poorly performed company drops, we know that we should not top up; but when the share price of a outperformed company like Evergreen drops, it is an opportunity to gain more money in future...

I kind of agree with what soojinhou wrote... please note that when Bornoil mines, they have to payout a certain % to the state government and the original grant owner... that is also a cost incurred.. if this mining business is so profitable, why would the 1st hand grant owner lease it out to Bornoil? ok, you can say that this "alibaba" is lazy, he wants to get easy money by not doing anything..(that could be part of the reasons)... but, if you know this is a hugely profitable project, will u lease it out to 3rd party for a small portion of %? I will not... and I also doubt if Bornoil is using the hundreds of millions (from right issues) in a legal way... i have seen many directors purposely place big purchase orders/procurement and pocket in some of $$$ (under table deal with the vendors)... that is why I have been cautious with this company)... frankly speaking, Transmile in the making is not impossible..
Bornoil's directors may think (i say "may", haha): I don't care if this mining business is profitable or not... I just know that buying a lot of machines with my "brother-brother" vendors is a profitable business to myself.. haha...

comebackisrael.... it is just a matter of time for the re-valuation of share price to happen... the current up and down is short-termed and we should look into a bigger picture in future... cheers....

you are welcome Joblessrich... yes, this is an undervalued gem as mentioned by everise... the share price will be re-valued one day (but i dunno when, haha)... anyway, there is no worry of holding this fundamentally good share.. the re-valuation is just a matter of time...
mind to share which share you have also invested in? (the one that has appreciated more than 40%)...

well, he said "let's wait for next quarterly results and see"... i dun see why evergreen can't earn more than the previous quarter... why? previous quarter USD was weaker.. they had forex loss... this coming quarter, USD is stronger (compared to ended March 31), so i expect EPS is higher...

bingo and excellent points by everise... the main reason why I invested in Evergreen is also of the much lower P/BV... also bcoz of the confidence I have in the management.. (see my post above)... they are not bragging or cheating...modest ppl with integrity and honesty in answering my questions... when he told me that 2013 will still see a loss (and will likely turnaround only in the next year), they proved right of what they told the investor... they were telling the actual situation (unlike some companies will give fake hope to the investors that they will turnaround quickly)... so i like the honesty of the COO... and also, they are now doing a lot of internal restructure to cut down cost... dun forget about the expansion too in early 2017... they are investing in new machine for particle boards (able to churn out thinner particle boards with better margin).. and moved some MDF lines to a centralized zone (Masai if not mistaken) to have a one-stop solution to save operating cost... and then.. they are venturing more into higher margin downstream product (RTA furnitures, secondary-processed boards, laminates, etc)....

i personally think the risk is very minimal as there is so much margin of safety... we have taken care of its downside, and let the upside run by itself...

besides construction, they also have property development.. recently Bank Negara cut the OPR by 25 basis points... they will definitely lead to more housing loan approvals and hence spur the growth of property development...
Another key note from 2015 annual report:
Earnings from robust sales across
all products late in 2015 will be largely recognised in 2016.
Added to further launches in 2016 including a follow-up
residential phase called Precinct Luxe at La Promenade and
Vista Industrial Park (VIP) in Muara Tabuan, Kuching, we
expect a strong year for the property division.

Jack Wong, I have to disagree with your statement that buying HSL is risky... HSL is a fundamentally strong company with huge orderbook for the next few years... it will be re-valued to a much higher price in the next few quarters after the results are released...
2016-07-22 13:36 | Report Abuse
buy or not, the decision is yours... i am on the ship already anyway... cheers...
2016-07-22 13:36 | Report Abuse
Key note:
1) HSL is still in the running for further bidding
successes (With some RM2.7 billion worth of projects now in hand)
2) With sustainable earnings visibility now extending several
years ahead, we see 2016 and beyond as a new era of growth
for HSL and expect to remain among the most consistently
strong performers on Bursa Malaysia’s construction counter.
This is why I said HSL is one of the best growing construction companies in the next few years...
With some RM2.7 billion worth of projects now in hand we
anticipate busy times ahead.
Nonetheless, HSL is still in the running for further bidding
successes. We have become well-versed in addressing
the logistical challenges in the SCORE area and have 17
ongoing projects there with a capacity to secure more.
Water supply, access routes and other amenities necessary
to meet the burgeoning industries and population surge to
the region will create further demand for infrastructure.
This year, HSL also anticipates vying for other roads and
bridges, mass reclamation works, flood mitigation, water
supply, affordable housing and other building construction
contracts.
Our technical proficiency, notably our marine engineering
and infrastructure expertise, together with our financial
standing remain our crucial competitive advantages in
both procurement and execution. The Group maintains
substantial cash reserves and is debt free, positioning us
comfortably to start up our mega projects.
Infrastructure spending under the 11th Malaysia Plan
coupled with Sarawak’s agenda of elevating the socioeconomic
prosperity of the people will give our industry
considerable lift. As we set about executing our newly
enlarged order book, we will be vigilant in monitoring and
moderating the effects of volatile global markets, fluctuating
oil prices, adverse foreign exchange rates and labour
constraints. We shall be striving to protecting our industryleading
margins and, as always, enhancing shareholder
value.
With sustainable earnings visibility now extending several
years ahead, we see 2016 and beyond as a new era of growth
for HSL and expect to remain among the most consistently
strong performers on Bursa Malaysia’s construction counter.
2016-07-22 13:33 | Report Abuse
key note from the "prospect": we are
confident of a prosperous year.
Aside from the impact of these two mega-projects, there are
other favourable factors for the Group this year. Sarawak’s
Chief Minister has declared that the RM5.97 billion allocated
in the 2016 state budget for development will be used for
roads, drainage, telecommunications, electricity and water
supply to improve the livelihood of Sarawak’s rural people.
All these generate infrastructure and construction works
and added to the ongoing activities in the SCORE region,
are likely to keep HSL’s tendering department busy.
Overall, Sarawak maintains an energy and an emphasis on
development that benefits our industry. The construction
sector in the state is expected to grow by 6.4 percent
in 2016. With the added drivers of an election year, the
pressures of urbanisation and industrialisation, a focus on
rural development and the impact of SCORE and the Pan-
Borneo Highway, it is an exciting time to be in Sarawak. For
HSL, with two mega-project wins in the bag already, we are
confident of a prosperous year.

of course you can criticize a certain company, but please la.. at least give your facts la to justify.. and tell us why you criticize... and not act like a child there.. haha... i am neutral, i admit that HSL is not so generous in giving out dividend... i also talk about the downside of the share i bought.. nothing is perfect we know... but we demand for facts, not rubbish talk... agree?

really ar Jack? I din scroll up to see... i just know he is the number1 "tin kosong" i have met with in this i3 forum... i have seen other investors share facts/analysis.. but for him/her... just talk rubbish... right?

hankc... right, Evergreen is a giant in MDF industry... even bigger than the number1 MDF player in Thailand... dun play play... when they are running production at high capacity, the unit cost will be lower compared to smaller players.. and dun forget they also build own resin glue (and sell the excess for making money) and built own power plant to generate electricity (to supply to factory)... and had done so much automation which has now reduced labor cost... u see latest quarterly result, even though they had forex loss in the net profit, their net profit is still more or less the same as the previous quarter (in previous quarter, they had forex gain!).... so what does this mean? they are actually performing better this quarter than previous quarter....

mhchai, you are right, rocky has his own agenda and motive to push the share price down... he never gave any actual facts (scroll up this forum and you will find out) but keeps injecting negative elements... his intention is obvious and very mean... contrarily, i did not say on empty base, i gave facts and calculations... and on the projects won, prospects, etc analysis... so you can see how low class this rocky is... again, feel sad for his parents...

i wanted to say debt free and that the company has free cash flow (FCF)... typo there... and from here you can see how childish rockycleft is... he knew what I wanted to say but picked on that little typo to laugh at me... his level of childishness can be easily seen here... i feel sad for him, and of course, for his parents for growing a kid like this...

chernhung, u can check from the past records from Bursa... normally companies will pay out at the same time every year... but good to note that they have approved to a payout policy that at least 25% of net EPS to be paid out to investor.. if this year they can earn 12 sen, they will payout 3 sen dividend (at least)... at current price of around RM1.00, dividend yield is around 3%... not bad..
