big 4 glove company will push up the price of their shares to pay for the donation. Very very good strategy by our Finance Minister. That is why we need bankers as finance minister so that he know how go without windfall tax.

Ministry drafts plans to keep Malaysia's leadership in rubber glove sector
https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/ministry-drafts-plans-keep-mala...
KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 5): The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC), through the Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC), is always drafting and implementing short-, medium- and long-term plans to maintain Malaysia's global leadership in the production of rubber gloves.
Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali said that under the short- and medium-term plans, MRC will continue to carry out promotional activities overseas, such as participating in international trade expositions together with industry players, organise trade missions and educational seminars, business matching and advertising in international media.
"These promotional activities not only include leading rubber glove markets such as the United States and Europe but also cover most populous countries with high potential like China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brazil and Russia,” he said during the question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat today.
He was replying to a question from Wong Chen (PH-Subang) who wanted to know about the policies planned by the Ministry to strengthen Malaysia’s global leadership in rubber glove production.
Through the long-term plan, Mohd Khairuddin said the Ministry via MRC will focus on boosting investment activities by industry players and empower the downstream rubber industry to improve the competitiveness and value of rubber glove exports from Malaysia.
These include offering incentives for automation and green technology launched in 2019 totalling RM20 million.
To-date, about RM7 million has been approved for 14 projects including procurement of automatic rubber glove packaging, latex dipping and automatic glove stripping machines for automation incentives.
He also said that an industry relations fund was set up to promote cooperation between researchers and industry players to boost research and development and innovation in the rubber downstream sector.
To date, Mohd Kharuddin said nine companies including Mah Sing Group Bhd, AT Systematization Bhd and Hong Seng Bhd have announced plans to set up new rubber glove factories in Malaysia.
In addition, at least five existing glove companies will expand their respective capacities, such as Top Glove Corp Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd and Supermax, he said.
The Ministry also encourages investment in new rubber glove factories in cooperation with the state government such as in Terengganu where a local rubber glove factory is having talks with a State government-linked company to set up a plant in Kerteh, Terengganu.

Hibiscus completes new wells at St Joseph site under North Sabah PSC
https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/hibiscus-completes-new-wells-st-joseph-site-under-north-sabah-psc
KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 2): Oil and gas (O&G) exploration and production (E&P) company Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd said its unit SEA Hibiscus Sdn Bhd had completed the St Joseph Minor Sands Infill and Major Sands Redevelopment Infill Drilling Campaign in September 2020 — under the 2011 North Sabah Enhanced Oil Recovery Production Sharing Contract (North Sabah PSC).
In a statement to the local bourse today, the group said the campaign entailed the drilling and completion of four infill oil producers on the St Joseph Jacket-F (SJJT-F) platform.
Through the infill drilling development campaign, SEA Hibiscus has successfully added an instantaneous incremental 2,200 barrels per day of crude oil production as well as approximately four million stock tank barrels of incremental life of field gross reserves, according to Hibiscus Petroleum.
“With the addition of these new infill wells, daily gross production capacity of the North Sabah PSC exceeded 20,000 barrels per day in September 2020, a significant rise above production levels of about 14,000 barrels per day when SEA Hibiscus first assumed operatorship of the North Sabah PSC in 2018,” said Hibiscus Petroleum.
Commenting on the results, SEA Hibiscus chief executive officer (CEO) Pascal Hos said this demonstrated Hibiscus’ strength and capability to add value to the assets.
“This was an extremely fast-track project, which was executed safely and successfully, while having to navigate through personnel and logistics constraints during the various movement control order (MCO) periods this year.
“The North Sabah PSC is a mature asset, with St Joseph operating since 1979, and yet we are pleased to be able to continue to find, execute and realise value accreting opportunities. Hibiscus is hungry to grow, and we are actively searching for opportunities to replicate the successes we have achieved in North Sabah,” he said.
To recap, SEA Hibiscus assumed operatorship of the North Sabah PSC on March 31 2018 as a 50% joint venture (JV) working interest partner with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.
Hibiscus Petroleum said the North Sabah PSC 2 consists of St Joseph, South Furious, SF30 and Barton, four fields located offshore Sabah in Malaysia, which collectively produce for the Labuan Crude Oil Terminal.
At the noon break, shares in Hibiscus Petroleum had fallen two sen or 4.35% to 44 sen, bringing its market value to RM698.82 million. It saw some 2.42 million shares traded.
