I think can still trade....but catching weekly or fortnightly trends rather than day/minute trading...which is much harder to do....

beinvested Can issue warrants, if the Shares are deposited with the authority as safe-keeping , kept for the warrants holders who would convert to Shares.

IB not allowed buy back the warrants. They may want to justify that eventually no one will convert the warrants to Shares because got premium, it is cheaper to buy Shares directly, there no storing of Shares when issuing the warrants. In the recent events, the good value of the Shares will cause big losses to IBs if many warrant-holders wanted the Shares.

SO, what the IBs will do?

aiyo, NO SHARES involved lah! IB just pay cash if mother share prices above redemption price....c77 has an exercise price of 75 sen, no way can press the price down to that level, so IB have to pay up lah....IN CASH

but the c77 price is based on day end prices from tomorrow....so IB may still press it down tomorrow...

@hengheng95, the original announcement was bonus treasury shares 1 for 45, before share split/bonus....no dividend announced....don't rely on dividends, traditionally gloves stocks, particularly Supermax, don't give high dividends....it's not a dividend counter....

And if IB can push down fast enough, it will trigger margin calls and panic sell again....

So trade carefully....

I only trade 3 stocks now, Maybank when it dips to new lows, Supermax for excellent trading opportunities, and sometimes take profit on C84 when it runs ahead of mother shares....not going to touch vaccines or call warrants at current prices.....so 3 trick pony....

The newly launched C1K warrant is a crazy RM10.50 and 15:1, and currently out of the money, technically zero value. On maturity 31 march 2021, if the mother share is lower than 10.50, you are "out of money" and habis, nada, zilch....if say the mother share is 11.00, then you get 50 cent every 15 warrants.....

eh....no lah.....the IB European Style warrants are NOT issued by the business, and you will NOT get any shares on maturity.....you get money, if the warrants are in the money.....

eg. C84 was RM1.70 plus 4 warrants.....after the share split/"bonus" it's RM0.85 plus 2 warrants....say the share price is 7.50 (averaged over the last 5 trading closing prices), above RM0.85, for every 2 warrants, the IB, in this case maybank, will have to pay you 7.50-0.85=6.65.....

Ok guys take a break, weekend already, no point shouting at IB....relax weekend, be ready for more gyrations next week.

why not?.....if you have sold this morning at 8.00, and buy back now, you will still own the same number of shares and made some money, no?

@iswara, the first 30 mins this morning, already can make plenty of chicken rice money....but afternoon too flat already....

you are not the only one trading supermax lah....people have all kinds of reasons to be buying and selling....margin calls, sudden need for money, taking profits from March prices, sudden windfall looking to invest, and day/minute traders like apollo...

ahpooki2, check the daily price charts.....the graphs are the same for both!!! lol

2nd half next week, to push down the C77 liability, i think next Monday and Tuesday will be quiet, the IB have to conserve their bullets too....

@yappuaykee no different from depositing (ie lending your money) in banks and they use it (leveraged many times) to lend, speculate etc ....
