I disagree. Current prices are not sustainable, so do not keep shares at current price long term....

And definitely there will be a next time. Gloves are cyclical product, every few years new outbreaks will raise the demand....for long term investment, buy and keep when it's quiet and price low....not now....

technically, nothing wrong has been committed...it's a "bonus issue" where zero reserves was used, and the market automatically take half the value of the existing shares and assigned it to the new shares....

but the psychological effect is already realised, with many people thinking "people have extra shares"....which is the INTENDED effect....and "they are selling their bonus shares" that pushed the prices down.....

In the normal convention of meaning of "bonus shares", it is normally paid out of reserves. That's how normal people understands it as well. However, the way it is done in Msia is, it adds no value to the shareholders, it creates exactly the same effect of share split, but just without affecting the face value of the shares.

The fact is, the real effect of the TG and Supermax "bonus shares" on shareholders is a share split, not a bonus.

it's called sell on fact/event....a well known phenomenon of the stock market....

the last 2 major events, the 2019/20 annual report and the share split (wrongly called "bonus shares" to give a wrong image), prices built up till before the event, and then collapse after...and after the last TG QR, the WHOLE glove sector dropped...

both times I held on about half holdings as hedge.....this time, if the prices shot up Thursday morning, I am exiting completely....for the moment....

bond price is also important....scb 7.5% is at premium 105....Enbridge when bought was at 94...it will take 5.5 years to break even, assuming both at par....and my horizon is 5 years....so i figure the chance i am in the money at 5 years is higher with Enbridge than SCB....
