The issue is not that it derives earnings from property development, but whether there is any more income to expect in the future. In other words, if the Bandar Mutiara project is fully completed and there will no more income from it, or there are no new development projects, then earnings will take a nosedive in the next quarter.

Josephine, this counter is doing well in a bad market. Looking at the eps for the last few quarters, a share price of 30 sen is plausible indeed.

ragstorich, where did you get the RM2.50 price for the DBT? The announcement at Bursa website by the new owner was silent on the price. Even the notice of cessation of interest by the old owner does not mention the price of the DBT.

DBT means direct business transaction. WCT has a new owner. Old owner has sold out completely.

In RHB's report last week, earnings per share for the financial years ending 2017, 2018 and 2019 are 71, 86 and 96 sen respectively. In the longer term, Scientex should therefore be able to reach RM10, if not more.

Bursa should be able to tell that the rise in price and volume of Melewar is due to the increase in its subsidiary company, Mycron. The fact that it is not able to tell that shows how naive and unprofessional the people there are.
Similarly, Bursa should not be slapping UMA queries on companies when they recently announced impressive earnings as in the case of Mycron.
Bursa queries companies for the rise in share price which is due to an increase in earnings while it is indifferent to the fall in share price owing to the drop in earnings.
Please do your homework instead throwing UMA queries fast and thick, Bursa!

Moneysifu, I just saw your valuation of RM1.30. If it goes that high, quite a number of lobster dinners are in order!!!

KLCI King, how can you say it is overpriced when the earnings per share for 2016 so far is already more than five sen? You are not making sense, from a financial analysis.
2016-08-30 02:24 | Report Abuse
Moneysifu, who are these certain people you are talking about? And what is their expectation of Mycron's profit? Are you speaking as a matter of fact or simply plucking this out of the sky?

Profit from operations for 30 June 2016 quarter is RM23.2 million compared to RM6.4 million for 30 June 2015 quarter. Also, the overall profit for the 30 June 2015 quarter included a gain on bargain purchase of a subsidiary company amounting to RM21 million.
Therefore, the comment that profit is down by half year-on-year is not correct.

Quarter-on-quarter comparison matters more. Comparison of the same quarter year-on-year only matters if the business of the company is seasonal.

Maybe the share price is being pushed up to make warrantholders exercise the warrants which expire in less than a year from now. Other companies have done this before.

Harryt30, if it went up 68% in 1.5 months, it is because investors consider it to be grossly undervalued. It is up that much because of fundamentals and because it can go higher. So, please talk sense.

Riff, if u have been around, u would know that warrants lose their premiums as they edge closer to their expiry date. There is nothing fishy about there being a discount. Besides, it is only today that there has been a discount to the share. And why overplay a discount of 6.5 sen. U r also ignoring the fact that it is not logical for investors to be willing to pay a premium for a warrant that expires in 17 months. Would u want to buy mitra-wc at 80 sen, since u say there should be a premium?

It is late to make this comment but Bursa us being ridiculous by making UMA query on systech. There is nothing unusual abiut a counter moving from 30 sen to 39 sen in a gradual manner. It did not go up a lot suddenly in one day. Is Bursa trying to discourage counters from going up? Is Bursa happier if counters do not move upwards and go down instead? Those guys at Bursa need their heads examined.

As it is already the second day after the second query, the effect of UMA query on systech can be discounted.

If u look at the first UMA query, systech share price was not affected at all by it. It was trading as usual. Even after the second query, the price is still holding. So, stop saying there will be selldown because of UMA query. The effect of UMA is immediate.

I do not know how many of u know that the exercise price of skp-wa has increased to 55 sen from 45 sen on 27 june 2014. Skp-wa is therefore trading at premium of 40%! But if the share can reach 60 sen (which is just 5 sen away), based on a premium of 25%, skp-wa is worth 20 sen. So, there is no need to panic. And, if maybank chartist's target of 73 sen for the share comes true, even with the 55 sen exercise price, skp-wa is worth 36 sen.

Its fy2014 1st quarter results is very good. If it is recurrent, then johan would have to be the most undervalued stock on Bursa, trading at a PE ratio of under 3.0 times. So, the milkion ringgit question is whether the following quarters will have similar earnings. Does anybody have any idea?

Write a comment..Willc48, I just read the circular. It is not a capital reduction but a reduction in par value excercise, which is good for the company accountingwise. Still, calling it a "share capital reduction" instead of "reduction in par value" (by which many other companies, which did the same thing, termed it) is clearly weird and misleading. It is no wonder that some people panicked and dumped the stock. In reduction in par value exercise, shareholders retain the same number of shares. They will not see 90% of their shares wiped off.
