if they really impose this bumi only ownership scheme. biggest loser will be bumi cause their share price will be lower and takes longer to dispose since smaller market. the housing market is a shining example. the smart bumis may not even invest there too as the stock will be illiquid.

Cslee, what makes you say that? some of us read the news you know?

@TreeTopView I think you misread my comment. I meant EPF sold almost ALL shares INCLUDING Maybank. I didnt say they sold all Tenaga shares.
And yes the soft price is due to selling pressure from EPF. However it is soften by the other fund buying it up as well.

@Parrot... EPF sold almost all shares including Maybank.. for i suppose for iCitra draw down. they are waiting for right time to come back in Equities. meaning waiting for more fluid cash from member deposit.. they will come back to Tenaga.. just a matter of time cause this stock has consistent annual dividend, as a fund manager, why wouldnt you invest in this stock? or MBB for that matter?

Guys, dont stress..
quite simple really.. if you want to see paper GAIN but no money to make, you buy ex date, if you don't care TEMPORARY paper loss but make MONEY, buy NOW.
why temporary? price will go up again when next dividend date comes around April 2021. buy when cheap. treat as FD, for approx 6-7 months. see your interest payment. Kenanga gave TP RM11.80, when declare divided you will see your patience rewarded.

Can someone please remind him of his failed Low Yat 2? what happened to his project Mara Digital? Never learn from the past and doom to failure? Low equity participation from retail is due to their lack of funds by restricting participation from the others, imaging the stocks will be sluggish and barely active. the only movers and shakers are big boys and FF who will dictate the price. Imagine Big Boys RSS and retail have no fire power to defend.
If this half baked idea is carried out, truth be told I wouldn't even want to invest in any bumi equities - for sure.

The form for DRP is out at Maybank website. if we do accept DRP via web, any idea how soon we can do so and is it via Tricor?

'... Maybank Dividend Reinvestment Plan
Maybank is one of the few companies in Malaysia and in my portfolio that consistently offers dividend reinvestment plans every year.
I’ve been opting to go for their DRP and receiving discounted stocks instead of receiving dividends in cash. Of course, you should do this only when the math makes sense.
It is simple math. You compare the issuing price to the share price today and deduct the cost of applying for the DRP – RM10 setem hasil and a RM3 handling fee for an online application.
DRPs don’t make sense when the share price has of the company has been dropping for the few months preceding the DRP. I’ll be using Maybank as an example and continue to update this article as I opt for dividend reinvestments.

@choysun Sure will keep Tenaga. its just that i used to put in 66% of my portfolio on Tenaga before switching 22% of Tenaga for Harimau which now stands at 31% (previously 15%). I noticed Harimau dividend very consistent at around rm0.5x annually and quite defensive. Tenaga dividend fluctuates and almost always a target of shorties. Bank shares are quite resilient in good times and should be able to withstand the bad times as well.
For Tenaga, let's not forget the LHDN issue postponed from 1st sept, ESG target of 5 years is a bit far and meanwhile may not be so attractive to FF even thought they took steps to reach earlier e.g. JV in Singapore and Vietnam.
anyways best to spread the risk and not depend only on 1 stock.

@tollebunsmith thanks for sharing Sifu:) .. I just bought another 60 lots MBB at closing. so my portfolio more even out... I have Tenaga, MBB, PBB and Bursa for equities. so this will be most ir less my portfolio moving forward. Used to buy GenM and Genting but sold all as they are speculative. btw, I ain't young semi retired at moment. I am a small player unlike Stkoay and yourself. I have ASM too which is around 25% of portfolio

i hazzard a guess that RP = regulated pricing for electricity. basically the price of electricity gomen tells TnB to charge. the higher the better for TnB

@TreeTopView I agree with you. got a feeling that at 4.50pm we might see possible huge buy in by FF.

luckily i sold my Tenaga the other day. I just sold another batch and bought lower. now my Tenaga below 10.00 and spare cash standing by for either Maybank or Tenaga post dividend. QWD really wrecking havoc on Tenaga

2021-09-17 16:00 | Report Abuse
luckily I manage to sell most of my stocks at 10.22 - 10.28. with the profit from there I rebalance my Tenaga portfolio and now average price below 10.00. got bullets on standby to either average down post dividend or redirect to Maybank. let's see

@kong73 no worries bro, as long as you continue to get dividend and the TP for Tenaga at least 11.00 and above, nothing to worry. only stare at paper loss only, just ignore it.
2021-09-16 15:06 | Report Abuse
I got a feeling tomorrow, QWD will see Tenaga possible price jump. no reason for Tenaga to drop below 9.80 with the economic activity opening up. my guess is that price ex date will not be lower than 10.00.
2021-09-15 16:55 | Report Abuse
I think QWD this friday has something to do with the huge price pull happening today to Tenaga since tomorrow is PH. possibility is Friday could have huge jump in price back and that today is the QWD - brought forward. any thoughts on this?

thank you stkoay for your explanation

@stkoay would like to ask your advise on the DRP.
Example (for simplicity let's say): if I have 100 lots MBB worth RM80K and DRP I get only 500 shares @ RM7.00 would my portfolio show:
1.) 105 lots value at RM80,000 (i.e. free 5 lots added - remain at RM8/share), or
2.) 105 lots value at RM83,750 (i.e. RM7.976/share),
thanks for your advise.

@choysun Yeah but I think a lot is happening over at TnB now and my average is relatively high where my stock portfolio exposure to Tenaga was around 68%, just taking the chance to realized some gain and have available cash standby for next round of re calibrating my portfolio to dollar cost average
2021-09-10 16:35 | Report Abuse
@linges no choice bro, guess like the rest of us here, investing for retirement.. so need to ensure dividend payout is attractive. need our equities to work for us when we cant. before the sudden surge in Tenaga during the last Quadruple Witching Day on 18 June, I missed the window to sell at 10.45.
On this note, becareful dont get trapped in high Maybank price as the next Quadruple Witching Day is next week 17 Sept. any correction will be the following Monday 20 Sept.
2021-09-10 16:02 | Report Abuse
@stkoay yes bro, you are right... might even be higher than 8.00 as queue orders for the day before opening as every one wants to grab it cheap.
@linges took that into account too. just sold my Tenaga at 10.28 and the net dividend loss after deducting trade profit is only ard RM390.00 (after brokerage) but the free up cash will allow me to 1) either enter MBB below 8.00 if possible or 2) explore buy back of Tenaga when it most probably fall below 10.00 after dividend to dollar cost my Tenaga which is about 10.05 now. Reason for consolidating is because MBB dividend is quite consistent for last couple of years around 50 sens region and while Tenaga fluctuates. Also the LHDN case against Tenaga is in the horizon. so yeh, the advantages to sell part Tenaga portfolio out weights the disadvantages at least for my case.
2021-09-10 14:43 | Report Abuse
what about opening ? 7.98 possible?
2021-09-10 13:52 | Report Abuse
Guys, what do you reckon will be the most probably price come ex-date? I am consolidating 50% of my Tenaga stocks and moving into MBB to rebalance my dividend play stocks.
2021-09-07 17:05 | Report Abuse
more important that foreign funds support. local funds sell willl buy back soon. just a matter of time. if no foreign funds, price stuck. if local funds come back will rocket up
2021-09-05 22:21 | Report Abuse
@itrique83 me rich? not even close. not by stkoay's standards at least. far from it.
@stkoay i accumulated Tenaga to average down to 10.05. now toying with possibility of selling some lots to catch MBB after ex date and to pump up a little on Bursa.
FYI.. I looked up some counters that interests me as am now looking at more divi stocks and this is what I found...
Dividend Policy:
Airport N/A
Bursa 75%
CIMB 40%
GenM N/A
Genting N/A
Public Bank 30%
Maybank 40% - 60%
Tenaga 40% - 60%

@stkoay thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. yes did notice MBB has been quite consistent and generous in its dividend compared to PBB which was known previously for its dividend. Guess things have change due to the perhaps overly conservative stance by PBB. MBB definitely one to look out for.
I have narrowed down by portfolio and re-balance to concentrate more banking and utilities like Tenaga. Like MBB, Tenaga dividend policy is also quite attractive too. I am bullish on their prospects given their aggressive approach to meet the ESG goals. currently I am 1:4 ratio of MBB:Tenaga. I am thinking of rebalancing further to 1:2 when opportunity arises.
Did you invest in Tenaga too?
