According to a report by Oxford Institute for Energy Studies in March 2014, the shale gas production cost in the US may vary from US$2 to US$7 per MMBTU while shale oil production cost is between US$34 and US$91 per barrel.

The current Henry Hub natural gas price is hovering around US$3.50 per Mcf (1 Mcf ~ 1MMBTU), which means that all but four of the shale basins are loss making. Most of the shale gas production costs range about US$3.60 per Mcf to US$6.00 per Mcf while oil production costs are concentrated around the US$50 to US$70 per barrel range. The
latter is more expensive than other inland oil fields’ operating cost and the operations are more sensitive to energy prices.

We see the current natural gas price weakness being attributed to the sharp increase in production level and slower than expected usage,
which disrupted the demand-supply equilibrium.

We reckon that such pricing level is not sustainable and the shale operators will demand higher gas prices in return for additional CAPEX. This may lead to higher gas prices and subsequently, higher oil prices.

The cost of production of the USA shale oil is in the the region of $80+ and some companies are bleeding. The Saudis considered them as a threat to their/OPEC current bargaining power.

But the main reason for the OPEC cartel maintaining current quota is that the group is loosely held as each have their own agenda/mistrust and in the past many occasions they had always failed to adhered to their agreed quota. So the result could be said a forgone conclusion.

PP is normally for institutional investors & big timers

However, you are entitled to the bonus and warrant as per the number of shares you are holding before ex-entitlement date. Currently, you are still entitle should you buy more shares.

My 2c advise is to wait to see the result after the PP. What these people intend to do with their new purchase. Like some may sell their currently holdings and purchase thru PP; etc.

ESOS/Option is granted to provide incentive to employees and executives to spur them forward to create more value for the company. Instead of giving direct cash incentives like extra bonus.

Here you have to work hard & sweat for your reward within a specified time frame. If not exercise within the stipulated period it lapses and = zero. So all have to work for company to perform within that time, else wasted work for them.

This is a smarter way of rewarding and incentivising for the company's advantage. As the Chinese saying "sie chai poo choot tai chai poo qin" In English: small incentive to attract substantial gain. Sorry for the poor chinese spellings.

Look at the bigger picture and its price may be higher than currently after the up n coming international/holidays distractions. Whose knows your calculations maybe lagi better.

Amcorp has set a priority to grow its renewable/green energy business sectment locally n overseas. It could contribute handsomely to its coffer if the PPA terms are good, it should be by the way the chairman is steering the wheels.

Green energy has a premium in price and off-take priority and I assume it comes with one basic 'Take or Pay' term in the PPA. Also, it generates carbon credit which can be sold internationally to off-set the carbon tax imposed by the poluters. The business looks insignificant but to be able to build n commision the plant in 4 months is no small step.

Oil price is set to increase n traditional energy source will creep-up accordingly. Whereas, green energy production is practically free after the initial CAPEX to build the plant. So you can say the owner will be collecting his revenue (less small operating expenses) from TNB n laughing to the bank.
