lucky I didn't hold until 2016, it dropped to 0.32 before rebound, I start re-enter @0.4xx until now..

I sold all @0.8xx!! it's 2xx% of gain!! but that time my capital is kacang putih only.. kikiki

when I was knowing nothing about stocks, my first share was Pesona bought @0.2x, then never monitor until 2yrs later...

I rather keen be a investor than an opportunist, that's something I learned from past experience.

Actually I learned a lot from Greatful in Pesona forum, but he sold all, I still left some 'free shares'..

for new member of DNeX, no pain no gain.. and you need to study and analyze the future of DNeX...

Selling too early WD is my regret, I slowly re-enter from 0.180 till 0.260, sell some then bought more mother @ 0.475...

I was catching falling knife when previously down from 0.450 to 0.380, my biggest portion of DNeX shares was bought at the time!

actually I was a bit disappointed when there's no final dividend recommended, now I'm even more confident with DNeX prospect.

KUALA LUMPUR (April 28): Dagang Nexchange Bhd (DNeX) said its associate company, Ping Petroleum Ltd, has received the nod from United Kingdom’s Oil and Gas Authority for a farm out agreement.

DNeX said that the approval is a key condition precedent to the farm out agreement between Ping’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Ping Petroleum UK Ltd (Ping UK) and a wholly-owned unit of Japanese integrated trading company Sumitomo Corp, Summit Exploration and Production Ltd.

In the oil and gas industry, a farm out agreement is one which is entered into by the owner of one or more mineral leases and another company wishing to obtain a percentage of ownership of the lease or leases, in exchange for providing services.

Ping UK — which co-operates the Anasuria cluster of producing fields in the UK sector of the North Sea — will farm in and co-invest with Summit in two oil and gas assets located in the UK Central North Sea. It will have a 50% working interest in the Avalon oilfield development and a 20% working interest in the Ranger exploration well.

Ping UK, which is principally involved in the exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas, said it will fully fund investments for its share in this venture.

DNeX expects the project to contribute positively to its future earnings and net assets, and is of the opinion that the project is in the group’s best interest.

In a separate statement, the group said the project is an expansion of its diversification into the energy sector via its wholly-owned subsidiary, DNeX Petroleum Sdn Bhd.

DNeX Petroleum holds a 30% enlarged equity in Ping, which it acquired in August 2016.

The acquisition of shares in Ping, the group said, has contributed to a significant jump in its net profit for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2016, through the share of result in Ping totalling RM123.5 million, it said.

Via the acquisition, DNeX has an indirect interest in Ping's joint acquisition with Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd of the Anasuria Cluster.

“Our acquisition into Ping has helped generate profitability and improvements in the group’s earnings resiliency,” said DNeX group managing director Zainal Abidin Jalil.

“Moreover, it provided us with the opportunity to gather the necessary expertise and track record of being an upstream oil and gas player via Ping,” Zainal said.

“The latest development, we believe, is another significant milestone for Ping, consistent with its strategy to diversify its oil and gas portfolio by targeting assets with lower risk and good upside. This is clearly an expansion in the right direction,” he added.

DNeX’s share price closed 0.8% lower at 60 sen today, valuing the group at RM1.06 billion.
