MIDF Research, which has an “outperform” call with a RM5.45 target price, continued to like the stock being the front-runner for the tunnelling job for MRT3 and ability to secure new jobs overseas.

The project to jointly develop a hydropower plant in Tenom, Sabah secured by Gamuda Bhd will generate about RM2bil worth of civil works for the construction group, according to MIDF Research.

- Gamuda’s unbilled construction order book stands at RM22bil to RM24bil, with strong earnings visibility up to FY27.

- Management is optimistic on both domestic and international domestic wins, targetting to secure RM25bil of new jobs in FY24 and FY25.

- There are five more projects on its radar over the next 15 months, including one in Taiwan and the MRT3 underground package.

- Gamuda will also be involved in the Penang LRT development and it is also among the bidders for the Pan Borneo Sabah packages.

- In Australia, the newly acquired DT Infrastructure places Gamuda in a sweet spot to undertake more and larger infrastructure projects, especially rail.

- Also short-listed for SRL East, which is project tunneling work for Cheltenham to Glen Waverley section. John Holland and Gamuda Berhad (trading as Gamuda (Australia) Branch).

- It’s a BUY. I strongly believe it and my target upgraded to RM6.00

Proposed disposal Menara CelcomDigi
- Sentral REIT said the acquisition of the building from MRCB’s wholly-owned subsidiary Puncak Wangi Sdn Bhd, will be satisfied with cash raised through a combination of equity and debt funding exercises.
- Sentral REIT has signed a conditional sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with a unit of its major unitholder Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) to acquire the 27-storey office building known as Menara CelcomDigi in Petaling Jaya, Selangor for RM450 million.
- The equity funding exercise will entail a proposed placement of up to 123.72 million shares, out of which 34.56 million shares would be for MRCB’s undertaking to maintain their current percentage unitholding in Sentral. MRCB now holds 55.88% of Sentral.
- The proposed acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
