Global demand for oil continues to pick up as recent measures to rebalance the market have come into play, but a period of sluggishness is still expected to hang over producers in the year ahead, according to the latest report by the International Energy Agency (IEA).

The IEA revised up its growth estimates for 2016 global oil demand for the third consecutive month. It now projects demand grew by 1.6 million barrels a day last year, after seeing what it considered strong numbers in the final three months of 2016.

However, it remains cautious about the outlook for 2017, forecasting demand will grow by 1.4 million barrels per day this year.

Had a look at the EIA numbers again. It seems most of the build last week was dude to increased import by the refiners in the US - probably due to the fear of Trumps import tax policy (BAT). Goldman thinks this trend is going to continue until March. So buckle up.

If you are shale oil developer with big bank loan repayment need to be settled , will you still borrow more money to dig oil well bo? if oil at 80 will you hantam kaw kaw to invest again ?

Wa sikalang mau SKL abit la. by June this year due to opec and non opec 1.8 m barrels production cut , oil glut will be reduced significantly and supply and demand will achieve balance.
by that time say oil is at 58 usd . Opec will announce another cut of 1 million barrels . You might think why Opec want to do this ? Oil price will go up high significantly by that time , because supply at that time will be in deficit and there is no more oil glut . Shale oil maximum this year can increase how much production if oil still at 58 USD ? I guess max also can back to 9 millions barrels during the peak at dec 2014 . if Opec cut 1 millions barrels and do you think oil can go above 70 80 90 , (given the fact by that time supply is already in dificit.) ?

Now open n non opec got cut production. Still skl come out saying shale can export oils that more than 4 opec countries production by 2017. Pakai punttot think is it possible for shale to pump that amount of oils ? Rig count in dec 2014 was 1200 or 1400 right ? That time total production 9 millions tong only . Now is 8millions plus tong. So shale oil go where to get loan to dig more rigs ?
Shale oil increase production they will think oil price will not go down by doing so ? N why skl keep say shale oil increased production will put a stop on oil price rise ? Skl smarter ?
