KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 30): Tenaga Nasional Bhd shares climbed by as much as 14 sen or 0.91% to RM15.54 today, after UBS Investment Bank’s research division was reported to have highlighted it as a preferred stock.

At 3.15pm, Tenaga was among the top 30 gainers on Bursa Malaysia, after some 8.16 million shares crossed. The counter pared some gains to trade at RM15.46, giving it a market capitalisation of RM87.71 billion.

In a note on Tuesday, UBS analysts highlighted Tenaga as one of its preferred stocks in ‘special situations’ — in which stocks are either overly discounting some perceived threat, or may engage in restructuring or a possible new investment.

According to Bloomberg data, 80% of analysts with coverage on the stock recommend a ‘Buy’; 23 out of those 26 analysts have a twelve-month target price of RM16.31.

The national utility company has seen strong buying interest since Friday (Nov 24). It gained 42 sen or 2.8% yesterday (Nov 29).

In the past 12 months, the stock has gained 13.4%.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 30): RHB Retail Research said Tenaga Nasional Bhd may rise higher after breaching above the RM15.00 threshold and hitting its new 52-week high.

In a trading stocks note today, the research house said withthe 21-day SMA line edging upwards, this also implies a positive outlook sentiment.

“A bullish bias may appear above the RM15.00 level, with an exit set below the RM14.00 threshold.

“Towards the upside, the near-term resistance level is at RM17.00. This is followed by the RM18.00 level,” it said.

it was high risk to buy CW before huge dividend...u can see by looking at C39 negative premium...i would prefer to go in back after dividend ex-date 19dec...better safety margin...

Thx MoneyUp8888...this 11.5c queue was there for past one week..as many, i always worried about 44sen dividend, which will increase the CW premium drastically...thats why let it go first, even though i could cancel it or increase the selling price..
