Hunger, that announcement refers to the delisting of PMB and a newco assuming the listing status of PMB. I don't see any rationale behind this; for one thing I did not own any shares in PMB when the split was proposed last year and so I have not received any circulars pertaining to this proposal and the reasons for this internal reorganisation. Perhaps the BOD can be asked to explain this in greater detail during the coming AGM because I don't see any tangible improvement in the value of the company by this reorganisation. It is just like now I own PMB shares and then later I own shares in the newco. Perhaps someone in this forum knows and can enlighten us?

leslieroy, why can't mikromb give bonus shares? after all, as at the last audited balance sheet, the company had more than rm21mil in the share premium and retained earnings compared to the share cap of rm31mil. since the proposed bonus issue is only at 40% of the shares in issue, there is certainly more than enough in the share premium and retained earnings to support that proposal. furthermore the bonus issue does not involve any cash payouts except for costs incidental to the professional services needed to complete the proposal. And in the recent qr announcement, the company's cash reserves are up more than rm500k from the last balance sheet amount. The recent qr may not have been spectacular, but the company is certainly not poor.

rj88, choo bee and ann joo are steel companies; if not because of government's safeguard measures to protect the local steel industry, and therefore to help the steel companies' margins, I don't think the local steel companies will be that upbeat. In Pmetal's case, it is an alum smelter and producer, and the company sells its products to markets abroad, so comparing the PEs of steel and alum companies are not exactly like for like.

Moreover, with the US Fed Reserve poised to increase interest rates 3 times this year, the USD will continue to strengthen. There is also the arbitration case with Etiqa insurance for the losses suffered from the power outage which Pmetal has a very strong chance of winning. Risks of course will be if the US Fed decides not to raise interest rates and China relaxed its ban on illegal smelters or that demand falters as a result of poor economic conditions worldwide.
