Take comments as reference, trust yourself...don't get fool by the same person 2 times...
just my view...Stick to your plan based on your initial purchase, I hope you are not purchasing based on hear say...
panic sell will only create an irrational trend... ie index down but PW down also... those sharks will thank you for your panic...
Assess your own risk, stay calm and be patience.

My observations on my other stock counters... there are a lot of last minutes sales ... stock in gain the entire day, can turn to a loss in last 30 mins...
That is the sentiment of our KLCI... next week will be good for H if my observation is right.
Happy Weekend!

No one can predict the trend coz KLCI has no trend these few days and in fact irrational...
DJ Down 600pts, KLCI up 30 pt, DJ Up 600 pts, KLCI up 20 pts
All control by local institutional investors who are the net buyer for KLCI now...
But you observe the trend today... up 18pts in the opening and losing steam now...
Trade at your own risk, be rational and think macro environment, not few days trending

Just reflect what has caused our Bourse to be down from a high of 1800? Have all the following has a concrete resolutions:
1. Ringgit devaluation
2. Political instability (Bersih 4.0 will intensify it)
3. China instability - our key trading partners
4. FF selling - net outflow everyday, total outflow to date already double the entire 2014
5. US rate hike to end the QE (long anticipated, in a matter of time in Q3 this year or later)
All the above still in the cloud... where is the catalyst for KLCI to be green for days other than knee jerk rebound and supported heavily by Rakyat hard earned money?

These are some good questions to ponder on AA:

AAX business model is different from AA.
AAX in long haul segment with more intense competitions from the mega players especially those in middle east with deep pocket.
AA whilst continue on the regional low cost segment will be its niche.
MAS is time to refocus on which niche segment they need to create and be in. They have been pointed to various directions by all consultants.
All best AA, trust the fundamental built and continue the success stories...

In term of forex, 56% of the USD liabilities are hedged. This left AA exposed to USD by 44% - which gave rise to the RM350m net unrealized forex loss. The USD borrowing span over 14 years, hence, the forex loss will not be immediate.
AA hedge fuel consumption by 50% (standard for an airline), so might not have the full impact for Jetfuel price advantage. Moreover, the fuel surcharge has been removed. Leaving less benefit for the fuel side.
In this competitive environment, for AA to remained profitable, achieving load >70%, continued lowering CASK, net operating cashflow position... is considered fundamentally strong.
Too many moving parts in airline industry and too fierce competition globally.

Well, airline business is real dynamic... no doubt forex is huge factor, as AA is in net borrower position for USD, which is detrimental to AA when USD strengthen.
Selling aircraft is a right things to do at the moment, AA is doing a sales and leaseback, which will get a cash inflow of RM1.1b to reduced the USD borrowing exposure. The sales of aircraft will give a net cash proceeds of RM202.5mil too.
It make sense for AA to sells the aircraft or entering into an aircraft leasing business (like GECAS), as there are indeed excess of aircraft in order based on the current capacity growth(AA is one of the biggest customer of Airbus).
Anyone ever wonder what is the composition of the RM81.8billion of capital commitments within AA disclosure? They are all future commitment for confirmed aircraft orders. Order bulk for big discounts and bargaining power.
Unless AA expand the business exponentially to used up all the aircraft, if not, they will need to sell off those aircraft.

Mat Cendana, I like the 3 points you made in your comment today:
(1) it's "Never try to predict a bottom; Don't buy something that's obviously on a downtrend"
(2) Never "averaging down" but "Average Up" [Be patience is the key]
(3) Study the Technical Chart (other than Fundamental) - If the figures say something is on a downtrend, slipping through support levels, don't be hasty by jumping in and hoping for an immediate rebound.
I made the above 3 mistakes that caught me in massive unrealized loss today on AA. However, lesson learned. Time to reflect and move on.
Those trapped capital will be treated as a "FD" for me, that with hope to reap through the AA's fundamental.

Actually what the retail investors is worried of? write off of the Amount due from associate of RM1.2b which eats into the Shareholder funds?
Q1 results was showing RM2.3b is due > 12 months and only RM0.3b is due within 12 months.
I think to write off, it is only happen if it is confirmed the associates' operation cannot sustain to repay the amount. Alternatively, AA might consider on loan capitalization to increase its stake in both the IAA and PAA (if ever the management is confident that both IAA and PAA will be performing --- I suppose so based on the expectation to list both the units).
With the above, do not forsee the immediate write off of the amount due from associates which will translate into drop in the shares price.
If the drop in share price is merely due to the associates accounting, it is overdone.
PWC must have satisfied with their audit findings, that those amount need not to be impaired even though they are overdue.

2015-06-11 19:04 | Report Abuse
The price today is so attractive to average down the cost of AA shares...Short term wise, the "forex + Fuel" load will be heavy to get the price to fly... I believe in its fundamental. Just my 2 cents:)
