Genting Singapore poised to deliver stronger earnings
PETALING JAYA: Genting Bhd is expected to benefit from the recovery of its 52.7%-owned subsidiary, Genting Singapore (GenS), which is on track to deliver stronger earnings this year.

This is driven by rising tourist arrivals in Singapore, particularly from China, as well as various programmes and events aimed at boosting visitorship and spending at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) in the city-state.

Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB) Research noted GenS’ core net profit of S$460.2mil, up 41.9% year-on-year, in the first half of 2024 (1H24) was in line with its expectations, making up 53.4% of its full-year forecasts, but exceeded consensus estimates, accounting for 63.2% of full-year forecasts.

The brokerage stated GenS’ recovery trajectory remained intact and is expected to deliver improved results in 2024 as compared to last year.

I expect Q2 2024 Genting Berhad result and dividend better than last year.

The best thing to do now is don't do anything.

Too bad none of us got any insider news and we don't have any friends or relative working in Genting groups. By the time quarterly results announcement it's already too late.
Can't do anything just wait and hope for the best. As for TauRX there's still hope. By the end of the year we will know the results.

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 1): Pentamaster Corp Bhd’s (KL:PENTA) second-quarter net profit fell 15.87%, as its biggest revenue contributor — the automated test equipment (ATE) segment — recorded lower sales volume, higher employee expenses, provisions for slow-moving inventories, and research and development expenditure for certain projects.

The group's net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2024 (2QFY2024) dropped to RM19.9 million from RM23.65 million in 2QFY2023, while revenue dipped 3.11% to RM171.37 million from RM176.88 million.

Higher 2Q earnings expected for Genting Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: Genting Malaysia Bhd’s (GenM) US operations are expected to deliver stronger earnings in the second quarter of 2024 (2Q24), supporting the resilience of the leisure and gaming conglomerate.

According to Phillip Capital Research, GenM’s leisure and gaming business in the United States accounted for about 18% to 20% of the group’s revenue and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) in 2023.

In its report, the brokerage highlighted that GenM’s New York video gaming machine (VGM) facilities, including Resorts World New York City and Resorts World Hudson Valley, reported a combined net win growth of 5.5% year-on-year (y-o-y) in 2Q24, outpacing New York state’s overall growth of 4.3%.

Resorts World Hudson Valley, owned by 49% associate Genting Empire Resorts, delivered the highest net wins growth at 19.4% y-o-y on a low-base effect, as it only began operations in December 2022, Phillip Capital Research noted, adding that as a result, VGM’s market share expanded a 0.6 percentage point y-o-y.

New York downstate casino licence to be awarded by end-December 2025, positive for GenM — Phillip Capital

KUALA LUMPUR (July 24): Phillip Capital has maintained its 'buy' rating for Genting Malaysia Bhd (KL:GENM) at RM2.57, with an unchanged target price of RM3.45, and said the casino group’s video gaming machine (VGM) operations continued to outperform its peers in New York, with its market share expanding to 43.3%.

In a note on Wednesday, the research house said it expects a New York downstate casino licence to be awarded by end-December 2025.
