*Covid-19 infection updates*
Kossan conducted a voluntary Covid-19 screening on its glove division on 4 Dec. It tested all of its 7k workers across 6 locations and out of which, 427 workers tested positive for Covid-19 at 1 big site (2 plants, 2.1k workers).

All the positive cases are asymptomatic and are under quarantined.

Management targets to restart production of the affected plants on 19-20th Dec and all of the workers would undergo a second test before returning to work. Going forward, Kossan will undertake a sampling test (20% of total headcount) every 2 weeks to ensure fast containment. The test works out to be c.RM200k a month but would be insignificant to its yearly profit.

*2-week impact of capacity loss*
Management guided that the affected site accounts for 25% of its total capacity and the impact is around 4% of its 3Q20 profit or 2% of its FY20 profit.

1. Strengthen its relationship with its customers and suppliers. In the post-Covid and competitive environment, Kossan hopes that the customers would give them the orders at a slight premium (vs market).

2. Increase cost competitiveness, increase automation, reduce reliance on foreign workers.

3. Produce more niche glove products.

When demand-supply normalises after Covid-19, management expects its margins to be better than pre-COVID level due to the above strategy.
