If I'm not mistaken, there are certain investment policy among the fund managers that only allow them to buy index related counters for their investment funds portfolio, if MMC is going to be excluded from index - meaning these funds managers have to start trimming down their holding of MMC, kind like force selling effect.

If you keep on relying on analysts coverage, you'll find yourself in trouble soon. There is always a conflict of interest when analysts initiating a coverage. Furthermore, analysts coverages always ended with a remarks like " this report is not a recommendation to buy or sell the counter & they are not liable for the loss in trade, bla bla ...", so think twice before trusting analyst coverage again

The sell down might be due to spill over effect after quarterly earning report by Sands - profit slump. Genting SP also down & indirectly effect the Genting M'sia price.

yungshen1, from your statements & postings, I can only deduce that you already "fall in love" or "too attached" to this counter. Try to treat this counter like a "instrument" of investment & don't built any feeling toward it, value this counter on their fundamental basis - valuation, balance sheet, quarterly earning results, risks & etc. You will find a better valuation footing rather than becoming too emotional & putting a lot unfeasible "wishes" or "hopes" - just my personal opinion. Anyhow, I respect your stand, the upcoming quarter earning report session should be somewhere around next month. If the earning is not good, my advise, better re-organize your strategy.

I guess it will settle around RM0.40 or slightly below temporary . The private placement of 10% of paid up capital at indicative price of RM0.40 will dilute the earning per share of existing shareholder , unhappy existing investors might sell off.

Charts @ TA should not be used to screen or pick a counter. You have wrongly use it. Chart @ TA is helpful to estimate on the entering & exit price of a fundamentally sound counter. Fundamental analysis @ FA is the correct method for you to screen & pick a counter.

If you notice "counter name " - CA,CB,CC,CB,..etc - it is call warrant. If notice "counter name" - HA,HB,HC,..etc - it is a put warrant. Example , GENM-CA, CB, C1,C2, C3 are call warrants while CIMB-HA, MBSB-HA, GAMUDA-HA are put warrant. Those mentioned above are normally European Style Warrant-cash settled type issued by investment banks. While physical exercise warrants will carry initial of "W" - example - WCT-WB, WCT-WC, GAMUDA-WD, etc, issuer normally is the counter itself for fund raising purpose. Playing warrants is risky & people always quote "high risk, high gain" but one old man quoted to me the other way round " high risk, all GONE! ". So be-careful Newb.

It is all depends on individual definition of "defensive". My personal definition of "defensive" , counters to remain in business & maintaining to be profitable during uncertainty. The counters price need not necessary have to go up to be defensive. If your "defensive" definition = counter price must go up during crisis/ uncertainty, then half correct & half wrong fits well currently. HLIB picks fits my definition of defensive quite well :), all are on solid business ground not empty shell counters.

This is my personal opinion ,there are few possibilities when will the share buyback will be over:- 1) when they use up all the cash the allocate for the share buyback, 2) when share price have stabilized up to 10% of the reference price they are allow to buy back, or 3) they hit the quota - % of the allowable share to buyback. You might need to do read all the announcements made by them at Bursa & do your own research. From there you can estimate how much they have collected & how much cash they have used up. I personally like Glomac because I like their developments - all niche markets at strategic locations.

Might be worth to have a look if the company can report an improved earning in the coming quarters. The management team just need to do more rather than announcing how many orders they have secured.Even though there is some slight improvement in earning report in last quarter but that is not audited report. They are present in so many countries , managing the foreign exchange gain/loss might be a great challenge. Given me a choice ,there are still a lot more fundamentally sound options out there compare to this counter at the current state. Not my choice now.

Tightly controlled shares might be = good counter, everyone refuse to dispose. A very diversified business model - high chances of business survival during crisis.

Solid business - selling essential product , rice is a staple for asian. Whether good time or bad time, we still need to eat rice. Unless rice can be replaced with potatoes, cassava or other grains, then it is time to reconsider this counter. Otherwise, business is highly defensive in nature.

This counter have been reporting losses since 2006 until 2012: not a good sign at all. Fundamental of business: die & mold for plastic products ( not solid enough business model, highly vulnerable during crisis ), investor will definitely stay away from this counter , only will be gamblers or punters will consider counter.
