Value Alliance cannibalizing each other sales within its member. And it is not 8 vs 1 but 8 vs 12 - you have MAA , IAA, Australia AirAsis, India Airasia, Japan AA , Phillipinis AA, and the equivalent numbers of AAX. So, why AA and AAX needs sn alliance ?

Yen Leng : As you wish, I have gone through a bit of Inari. It is a semiconductor company with revenue came marginally below expectation. If I am to invest in this company, I will do these few things.
(1) Have a feel of the general market. Are Inari competitors having the same problem ? If the competitors are having same problem, then it is the macroeconomics - demand factors that affect Inari.
(2) Check revenue segments. To whom it supply its product, and which customers purchase had dropped such that it affect the revenue.
(3) Third, need to answer why the demand for Inari product has dropped ? Example, if it supply sensors or chips to smartphone company such as Apple, then look at Apple competitors - who are they ? from whom they purchase their sensors and chips ?, product lifecycle has reached maturity ? Smartphone trend has not increased ? We know smartphone is a result of innovation. Strong players like Apple innovate early and captured almost 80% of market share from Nokia. But recently, the product has matured as almost 10 years had passed since first iphone came out. So, other competitors like Oppo , Android phone and so on has introduced to the world their product and captured some of Apple market share.
(4) Is there a plan for Inari to recapture the market from its competitors ? Can Inari produce its product cheaper and more quality than China made sensors and sell its sensors to Oppo , etc ?
(5) Is there any new innovations that would use Inari chips and sensors such that Inari will not depend very much on current customer base ?
By doing this, you will look 6 months to 1 year ahead of what you would expect on the revenue of Inari.
I do not hold any Inari shares and I dont intend to give positive or negative pictures about Inari.

The amazing AAX price turnaround is quite surreal...The profit does not really matter. What matter most is to work hard, find any good target counters , even faced with any threat , long term price would still work up the way we wish it would work.

reputation ? QZ8501 crash was 1.5 years ago. Evident in Q42015, people had become immune to that crash news, and crowded IAA. With new marketing vigor, their reputation has recovered. BTW, negative equity also affects Lion Air, a partner of Malindo.

Performer and Aceso : If AAX was so good, then why in 2015 , they made hundred millions of losses due to Malaysia currency depreciation ? Care to give me the answer ? Let me give you my thoughts on that . Money does not grow on tree. To expand business, you need to borrow and there is a cost tied to hedge this debt. To hedge a RM 1.4 billion debt is simply costly. That is why no company hedge the currency of their debt.
There was another good example of a company went bad in 1997. That company is Leader Cable. It borrowed 100 million in US Dollar , at a face value of RM 250 million , and when the currency depreciated, it had to pay back RM 380 million debt, still equivalent to 100 million USD. That does not include the interest. It was saved by the bank when HSBC converted the debt into shares. We as the minority shareholder will only bite our fingers when we see this happens because, when share price goes down, it goes down for a long time ...

performer : hedging had limitation. First, you can hedge maximum one year. Normally, an airline hedge 6 months ahead. Second, singapore airline made billions of losses because they hedge the oil price. So, now, who say hedging has 100% perfection ?

Lulu La : Of course, Mr. Pouper is exaggerating; and of course Q1 would be very good. But as long term investor, we want Q2, Q3 and Q4 result to be excellent as well.
Profit is made of Revenue and Cost, exactly it is revenue minus cost. Currency weakness, for example a downtrend from 3.89 (End of Q1) to 4.99 would make AAX incur losses in 2016. From your conversation, I know you are not familiar with statistical analysis such as multiple linear regression, so you just put it aside. To cater for your ignorance, let me put aside the mathematical context and bring in a real life context. A question could be asked, in 1997, how can a monopoly company like TNB made a big loss even though there is no competitor to its business ? Its revenue is solid billions and not millions, and people need electricity everyday. The fact remains , in the year 1997 , under the influence of George Soros, Malaysia ringgit depreciated from RM 2.5 / USD to RM 4.8 per USD and that is the sole, the single cause of TNB making a one billion ringgit loss in that year.
I have analysed the past financial data of AAX. It's revenue and cost , structure is the same like TNB, only that AAX has many competitors. Anything, similar to TNB, under extreme currency depreciation scenario, AAX would make a loss if RM depreciates to RM 4.99. We all dont want this to happen but we have to be aware of this possibility to happen because, we invest with our own hard-earn money. If we think 1MDB is going to cause any problem - then someone need to tell Najib that he needs to do something very fast rather than pretending nothing bad going to happen. Bite the bullet.

ngch : what cross my mind in the past few weeks till today is the amount of profit AAX will announce this coming Q1 result. If the profit cross RM 500mill mark, you will see the price move to 70 sen very fast. So , to sell all my shares that I have kept since January because some tom, dick and harry say so, is just something out of the world especially when AA announced that the load factor had increased 9 percentage points at 6.00 pm today.

On other hand, check my comments - I post 99% of my comment in AAX and 1% in AirAsia. Never post in other counter. 100% of my bet since January was in AAX and AirAsia.
