BANGI: Petrol subsidy rationalisation system is still under study and would be implemented using the MyKad, said Deputy Finance Minister
Ahmad said on Thursday that the high-income group would have to pay RM2.58 per litre for RON95 while the low-income group would still continue to pay at per current RM2.30 per litre rate.

The rich will have to pay the full market price of RON95 petrol beginning June next year while the low-income group will continue to enjoy the current subsidised rate.

"For the middle class, some will still enjoy the subsidised rate," he said in a press conference after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Budget 2015 briefing for officers from Rural and Regional Development Ministry and agencies.
He said that it did not make sense for those driving luxury cars to enjoy a subsidy of 75 litres of petrol while the low-income group 7.5 litres for each refueling.

Our Board of Directors (“Board”) is pleased to announce that Icon Offshore Group Sdn Bhd, our wholly owned subsidiary, has recently been awarded a contract from Talisman Malaysia Limited for the provision of one (1) anchor handling/tug/supply vessel (the “Contract”) which was duly accepted by the subsidiary company.
DETAILS OF THE CONTRACT
The Contract is for a firm period of two (2) years with an option to extend the hire by a further one (1) year. The Contract commenced in September 2014.
FINANCIAL EFFECTS
The Contract, valued at approximately RM63.5 million, inclusive of the option period, is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of ICON for the financial year ending 31 December 2014 and beyond.

What’s New

2Q14 adjusted net profit of MYR27m (+12% QoQ; -1% YoY) took 1H14 adjusted earnings to MYR51m (+39% YoY), on track to meet our expectation of MYR122m for FY14. 2Q14 relatively mirrored 1Q’s performance except for the technical fee income gathered following the mobilisation of a new OSV.

Our adjusted net profit in 2Q14/1H14 took account these items: (i) MYR15m/MYR15m IPO expenses, (ii) MYR2m/MYR4m RCPS-I profit, and (iii) MYR2m/MYR5m amortisation of intangible assets.

What’s Our View

Our forecasts are unchanged, expecting stronger 2H vis-à-vis 1H as Icon recognises earnings from its Brunei-based AWB. Overall, Icon is set to enjoy strong growth momentum, underpinned by: (i) the planned expansion of its OSV fleet, and (ii) improved utilisation. We project Icon to take delivery of 6 new OSVs in 3Q14-1Q16, comprising: (i) 1 unit of AWBs, (ii) 2 units of 10,930 bhp AHTS, (iii) 2 units of PSVs and (iv) 1 unit of FCB.

We do not rule out further fleet expansion in the future considering Icon’s lean balance sheet (net gearing <1x) as well as M&A opportunities locally/overseas. Icon is a Shariah compliant stock, which is a positive.
