When a suitor looks for a vehicle for an RTO, best is the company making losses and low NTA cos they can buy it cheap. Likewise, a hostile takeover will happen when a listed company is cash rich and have unrealized assets which they're looking to unlock.

Don't look at net assets now, wrangle you buy stocks, you buy on future potential, which in this case is the Dohs are planning to inject their development projects into the company. They need a listed vehicle to realize the potential of their own private assets. That's why they are not taking it private, but maintain the listing status. So they should at least pay a premium on the listing status of DBE.

I think they may stop buying for now lest it would trigger an MGO. Wonder what would their next direction is. Are they going to announce injection of bigger property projects into DBE. Any corporate exercises in the pipeline. Would there be a share consolidation exercise to bring up the share price etc.

The family is holding 32% now. 33% will trigger an MGO already.

Read in one article earlier that DBE would benefit from the new airport site to its proximate landbank. Could this be one reason why the Doh family keeps on piling on its shareholding?
